No no breaking hazanshu. That shit would get spammed so hard. It goes over everything and you can even bait with it from midrange.

About the ex SBK invincibility, the real issue is that the invincibility doesnt cover her… ya know… puss… So even with more frame of invincibility she will still be vulnerable to deep hits.
A Breaking Hasan would almost be like the next Tiger Knee. It would definitely beef her up.
-Rising Bird Kicks from Alpha instead of the last part of a launcher TC
-ST horizontal or HDR angled/vertical SBK, and make it start up a bit faster
-crounching forward kick animation from ST/HDR or 3S/CVS2
-close standing roundhouse back to the high kick aka second part of TC…I need some fanservice damnit

- All kikoken fireballs have Fierce punch animation but Jab, Strong recover faster…coz I need fanservice…plus i’d throw more fireballs if FP recovered as fast as Jab, and Strong punch…

juggle properties ala 3S as well for resets and set-ups! Or since the wall bounce thing is coming maybe her super will lead into more damage anyway. It knocks away and if it bounces off the wall I’m all for punishing a move with super and comboing into juggle ultra or ex sbk or Jumping TC.

chun could use some spam… cause its either that or they beef up her kikoken… but right now she has no “spam”… kikoken is only useful against a handful of characters and its nowhere near as spammable as other fireball characters.
plus remember dic can stuff it easily with jumping mp > ultra as well as just a standing hk… hasan shu really isnt that good… it has no priority and is slow.
shit gets eaten on reaction as well. baiting with wiffed versions has never worked for me… good players can tell which one it is and uppercut the ones that will hit.
also ANY decent player right now that trains themselves to do this can do it:
focus forward dash whatever.
on hasan shu… it REALLY sucks to do a random hasan shu out of the blue just to get a ryu or sagat focus> forward dash> uppercut >fadc> ultra. ON REACTION.

Just my opinion but I don’t want Chun to have spam-able moves. I use Chun, Vega, Viper, Gouken…I hate characters like Rufus that have one or two go-to moves/strategies and require little thinking/match-up analysis beyond “spamming.”
That being said, I would be happy with only EX shu breaking focus. It wouldn’t be spamable, but having at least one bar would discourage players from constantly focusing at midrange against Chun. Also wouldn’t mind a fast, decent range normal that hits twice, for the same reason. Ie. Akuma’s focus break is off his demon kick and is too slow to do on reaction, but it doesn’t matter because st.rh eats focus anyway.

also none of those are easily AA able on reaction.
just make it so that chun knocks down if she shatters so that she doesnt get a combo.
ex shu breaking would be meh. it has no range. chun needs a GOOD breaker… she already has shitty breakers.
imho EVERY character needs a good breaker.
fa shouldnt be near free like it is versus some characters and totally not useable like it is versus others.
if chuns hs broke it would probably be one of the best breakers in the game… like vipers tk or sagats tiger knee.
since chun is low mid/high bottom i dont see a problem with this. she still has the suspect AA, low hp and damage.
with characters like rufus and akuma and sagat and ryu walking around, i’m alot less worried about a breaking chun in the scheme of things.

Yeah Ryu and Akuma both have command normal armour breaking (well, 2 hit) overheads . .
Fix that EX SBK collision box. Tried to AA a Ryu today and he got between Chun’s legs and just sat there until the move was done.
Nah scissors hit twice if close enough but none of them break armor outright.
Put it this way, if they made reg Shu break focus I wouldn’t complain…but I don’t think its really necessary and I’d rather they buff her other areas first. I don’t expect to see any change to her focus-breaking options to be honest, so just EX alone would be terrific for me.
Can’t blame him, if I managed to get between Chun’s legs I wouldn’t be in a rush to go anywhere either :looney:
I was just going to post this. I was playing against an awesome Chun yesterday. He tried to AA me, and I just j.lk’d through the middle of his EX SBK. Then, I was just sitting there inside the move as she spun around. I didn’t even go into block stun. If I wasn’t sitting there like “WTF?” I would have had a free combo.
Chun has a normal that counts as an overhead her close MK and it hits 3 times as well breaking armor by itself. I am trying to use some myself against people that crouch on my jumpins anyways
Chun really needs a Breaking HS just to have 1 special move that breaks armor in 1 hit as long as she only has 1 good move that does it. I also feel she really needs a completely invincible EX SBK so she has something simular to a dragon punch that will stop any attack up close cross up, jab or other wise to make people think twice about getting too close with anything when Chun li has meter. If people that feel a breaking HS might be breaking the game then just make it her EX HS break armor so its not spamable as it was mentioned before. I like Chun because she doesn’t have any spamable moves making me think about what I am doing at all times, this should be maintained while giving Chun the added power she really needs to make up for her low HP count (it should be increased but I don’t think it will happen). I also also agree her damage overall should be increased some as well but not alot. Chun Li needs more love from Capcom big time.
No way in hell should Hazanshu armour break. It’s a fast, hard hitting overhead that knocks down and is safe on block. You can’t have it break armour too.

like i said before, most every character has some sort of spam, chun doesnt.
if she gets no spam she will still be high bottom tier.
so if they do give her some spam that ISNT HS, it will probably be a buffed kikoken… do you really want THAT??? i for one would MUCH prefer that than a breaking hs… but she would be too good.
if you think hs is all that great just go offline and try to spam it against anyone… it doesnt work at all, and will get her killed.
there are LOTS of ways currently to counter HS.
so instead of just saying what SHOULDN’T happen perhaps you have a suggestion as to how to make her less weak to breakers?

Agree that Hazanshu needs to armour break. Either that or it needs some speed (not too much) or a knock down property.
I’m not really in favor of a breaker HSU either. I just feel it could lead to some Tiger Knee-like traps against characters who don’t have an invincible reversal. That’s an unnecessary advantage to me. As it is now I think it’s fine. 'Only time I see it get punished hard is when it’s telegraphed too much and she flips right into a pre-charged absorbing/invincible attack (therefore she got baited), or it straight up whiffs. That’s misuse of the move and it deserves to be punished in that case IMO.
However, I think it would be nice to be able to special cancel the 2nd and 3rd hit of her close MK as it’s a quicker overhead. It’s a bit riskier than HSU since you have to be closer to land so being able to get some more damage for hit confirming it would be cool.
I dunno, we’ve said a lot but I’m more in a wait and see mood right now for the fight club event, because I’m not sure how close to the final build this game is or how many new suggestions could be taken into consideration and added at this point. I really just hope she hasn’t lost anything.
I’m tired of seeing screens of her getting beat up by Cody, that’s for sure. =/
If Hazanshu had armor break…it’d be perfectly fine if it just gained that, if I can still dp it on reaction, then cool, let the shit armor break.
I am not big fan of this but it would be a fair trade off if HS gets the ability to break armor. I would prefer her EX HS gets the ability to break armor to limit its usage and that it should be faster to correct the simple fact that it is slow as Dime mentioned. Making her normal HS armor breaking would be too much as far as I am concerned but we will have to see how they remake her for SSF4
This for the most part. (It’s still relatively slow, especially on recovery, and doesn’t knock down except for EX). Chun-Li is propelled up towards Sagat if you give her this. Not totally up there, but close. If Hazan Shu becomes unsafe only on air throw and DP’s, Chun gets way too much advantage.
As much as I’d abuse it, HS Armor break is just too much. Just get used to FADC’ing out of Focuses with it, but if you play smart, you won’t be showing enough HS to make them bait it out and focus attack it.
MAYBE EX should armor break…that would add some mind games in, players get scared to focus attack a HS on instinct…is Chun going to use meter?
