yeah if she has a reliable anti air for every situation, plus that ultra, ill be extremely happy.
People with a preview copy told me that d/f + lk now juggles opponents in the air even if you don’t get a CH…so if it’s a better anti-air now this is a serious threat for people who like to jump in on chun.
On the ground it still has to be CH to juggle.
And it looks like after the 3rd air stomp you can now combo with HK :Q__
the hitbox for df.lk is kinda lame though… so even if it juggles when used as AA that wont do too much for its usefulness unless the hitbox is fixed too right?
or am i just doing it wrong?
df+lk has upper body invincibility, I’ve had lots of success using it as an AA, but in SFIV I opt for other AA’s since it does almost no damage and getting it to land as CH happens too seldom.
It’s probably going to be a decent aa, but it’ll be too ex costly to rely on it too heavily.
Hopefully it’ll be easy to get stomps in afterward as an alternative. Maybe even ultra depending on airborne juggle time. Or maybe even just follow up with any normal if they changed the juggle properties (like a free juggle state).
Probably just wishful thinking on my part, but we’ll see as soon as someone tries it out.
I’m liking the sound of normal buffs more than U2. Now if we can just figure out how exactly EX SBK has changed (for better or for worse)…
ohhh? is this in the air so like seths stomps or when they hit the ground
if that’s true it would be pretty damn good.
Well, according to the Nakky blog d/f + lk has been buffed.
I wonder if they have changed the hitbox so it could be used on grounded opponents as well. Anyway, the improved AA-properties will probably help a lot in some matchups. One that comes to mind is Viper’s bk. It would be great to actually be able to juggle Viper after beating Bk with Chun’s d/f + lk.
This was probably confirmed ages ago but you can see jumping fierce into kikosho around 2.30 in this vid:

Looks like maybe a fifth of sakura’s life? Not game breaking but I’m probably as hype about this as anything about ultra 2, at my crappy level of play I land those punches a lot. People might actually be afraid to jump at chun for once.
Heh… It’s been a while since I checked back on this good ol’ thread… Glad to see the SF4 Chun mainers still around (as well as some new ones)…
From what I have heard/read/seen so far, my SF4 main is looking good for the sequel…
Improved flip kick? (ab)Usable Ultra II?
I definitely cannot wait for SSF4 now… April 30th is still way too far… T.T
returns back to his Pokmon HeartGold…
thanks for the sak vs chun vid! wow i think jumping fierce into u2 did decent damage! it was like 33%? and also i was suprised by the chip damage of the ultra. i mean sakura missed like 50% of the chip damage but still got a lot!!
I played super today, of course first thing I did was try Chun.
- st.mp is changed, but it’s not faster, c.lp/st.lp does not link into it but still links into fierce.
- c.mk is also changed, but I’m not sure how but you could “feel” that it was different when you used it.
- lk sbk has a better hitbox now and faster startup, I don’t know if it hits crouchers, but I hit with it pretty much from max range and got 5hits from it.
- swedish firecracker, u2 = beast
- She didn’t have anything that felt as if it’d gotten worse than in SFIV.
- Fireballs seems to be about the same, might be a bit faster recovery but can’t really say, felt the same to me.
- Didn’t think of trying df+lk AA =(
One thing non-gameplay wise I noticed is that they have changed the graphic in the game, it’s a lot smoother and polished than in SFIV, looks great!
How’d you get to play Super? You say her charge time hasn’t been adjust don her kikoken like Guile’s? you didn;t mention anything about spinning bird kick. Is it actually useful outside of the EX version?
good shit skatan, well now we can somewhat breathe a sigh of relief, except for the st.mp change… the range being nerfed is probably what you feel being nerfed…
faster lk hasan shu is a REALLY needed buff… cause that shit dont hit nobody unless they are sticking out stuff.

Range on st.mp is not nerfed, I’m sure of this, I could use it like I do in SFIV.
Maybe it has more active frames now, or they’ve changed the way animations look it felt twitchier?
SenseiRouzu, connections
ahhh, i think i get you… twitchy kinda like her st.fp?
her st.fp starts up slow in the animation and then comes out really fast… it was weird using at first when comparing it to older games like a2.

Exactly, a lot of pokes feel that way now.
well thats pretty cool actually, it means that the pokes wont telegraph themselves as much which means peeps walking into them more… its one of the things i like most about st.fp.
i owned up a gief using nothing but st.fp, the other day… its like a high crushing move… SO GOOD against characters that specialize in midrange standing normals.
hyped cause the characters that i like all look to be VERY good in super:
ibuki, chun,akuma, t hawk.
its about damn time i liked some higher tiered characters… hasnt happened ever except in BB (arakune)
well gents lets tip our cups to a better chun!
may others walk into your imba pokes ALL DAY!

Glad Chun li got buffed get hyped.
I am interested in the d/f lk new stuff tho.
Damage nerf across the boards helps her too.
New Ultra looks good and even better as more vids surface.
I think I had the most success with Chun Li in SFIV and she looks good in SSFIV.
That sounds really awesome. gonna work even harder for my fireworks now.
