I think fierce SBK should be as good as Ryu or Ken’s Tatsu.
aside from the other obvious things, such as making her ultra not be horrible.

Only real changes chun needs is
That’s about it. Her anti-airs are all situational but then again not everyone has an answer for every single jump in.
This.
I’d allow them to keep df.Short as long as they change the command to f.Short and made it a lot less terrible.
If they fix Hosenka like that…I will never use Kikosho.
…well…RARELY use it. Of course I’ll play with it at first but if Hosenka becomes more usable and keeps it’s current damage then Kikosho will be kinda worthless.
take away chun-li’s crouching foward LK ( short distance backflip) it has no use. spinning bird kick should connect more.
Hosenka isn’t horrible. It has it’s weird quirks, but it’s pretty viable and definitely adds to Chun Li’s game in a meaningful way. It’s no Flash Explosion, thats for sure.
My only problem with that, is that st.short is a great up close pressure poke. You can almost use it like boxer’s jab, in that you can do st.short > walk forward one step > st.short > throw and its a great offensive mixup as long as your opponent doesn’t have an invincible reversal at the ready.
I’d kinda hate to lose that tool, I’d rather see:
df.short disappears.
The meager upper body invincibility on it gets buffed so she can use it to let fireballs pass through her.
How is her st.lk the same as boxer’s st.lp?
Chun st.lk -1 on block +2 on hit
Boxer st.lp +5 on block +8 on hit
I never use her st.lk, ever, nor do I see the japanese use it, they should remove that completely and change cl.lk into her st.lk.
Woah…I never said it was “the same” I mean that it can be used in a similar way.
IIRC, I first saw Lud use this technique. Clearly you can’t whore it out like Boxer can, but used at the right times against opponents who can’t just mash DP on you, it seems to be valid.
instead of getting rid of chuns st.lk they just need to tweak the frames on it… its a good move with shitty frames.
if you dont believe me about it being a good move just watch oldschool a2 vids of chuns wrecking shop with it… (it was cancelable back then)

I’m not familiar with the Alpha series as at that time all my Street Fighter friends had up and moved so I’ll take your word for it. I just know that it is absolutely dreadful in SF4 and accidentally using it ends up costing me big time. (Thus why I wanted it mapped to something that I’m not likely to ever really use… making the move actually worth while changes this entirely)
i… think you are talking about d/f+lk not st.lk…
i dont particularly mind d/f +lk as i RARELY get it out on accident… but yeah, i do wish that it actually worked to do what “it does” better.

i accidently do d/f.lk sometimes, it actually helps in certain situations.
i think it should be better though, if someone jumps in on you, or is rushing you down it should knock them back a little. it could potentially be an ok anti air. im not asking for it to do heavy damage
You’re right. /facepalm.
I thought thats what were indeed talking about. Go me.
It comes out by accident when using cr.lk for me from time to time. I blame the stick <.<;; (Need to get a TE)
So is it confirmed or not that the Kioken is a half circle front (opposite of Hazan Shuu). Chun is a pseudo charge character but I guess they won’t make the Kioken non charge in case of spamming.
Even if it didn’t require a charge, it still would not be spammable imho.
The biggest issue is its speed (lack thereof) and her horrible recovery time on even her jab fireball.
I admit that I would potentially enjoy the change, as it would make her a bit more dynamic (walk forward fireball would be a great addition to her tool set)…but I doubt this is going to happen.
df.short to Kikosho is most likely gonna work in Super for some Rufus-style easy normal to Ultra shenanigans. That alone will make it better.
Chun is going to be able to c.lk -> EX lightning legs -> Kikosho from mid screen.
Knowing this, as a Chun player, I’d stop asking for things…
There is nothing wrong with st.lk far at least, i’d do something about the close version tho, it really has no use and can get you into trouble.
My biggest worry about Chun Li is that the developers don’t realize how handicapped she is. Other characters officially are getting special treatment like Guile and Vega(Claw) and even Rose got a specific request change to combo Soul Reflect into Soul Throw, but we are not seeing many of our request on Chun Li and things to make her more fun to play.
I also have a theory that the developers have a personal love/hate relationship with Chun Li since her design in SFIV. You notice in many gameplay videos she’s almost always the attack dummy in demonstrations?
Of course saving grace is this slick Ink Blot 3D Trailer featuring Chun Li and her new Rival Juri. I don’t know the devs confuse me sometimes.

Yes, that’s the REAL Chun li in that trailer. I’d like her to be depicted like THAT in SSF4. I find that she seems too meek in SF4.
And ya it seems like Chun is a victim in Capcom’s eyes. I appreciate the epic Chun vs Juri rivallry but…hospitalized? Again??? Capcom…c’mon. Strongest Woman in the World plx. Where is she? Still in 3rd Strike? Superpowers aside, she was depicted RIGHT in that game, imho.
