Looks like Capcom is really cranking out fgs now with SF4, SSFIITHDR SSF4, MvC3, SFIII online, SFxT, and Darkstalkers. After all these are out they need to take a break because fans don’t want to get milked.

I think we had 11 Street Fighter games in 9 years, 6 Marvel games in 6 years, and 5 Darkstalkers games in 6 years. It’ll take awhile before we reach that level of over-saturation. I don’t think it’s even possible anymore. Between arcades and consoles, there was almost a new one of those out every month.
I don’t give a shit if Ultras aren’t limited to one person. The concept of gaining an advantage for losing is stupid. A player should not be rewarded for getting hit.
HDRemix wasn’t necessary. In the initial stages of HDR, we were supposed to only get a straight arcade port of ST. Then it was decided that a “Remix Mode” would be added. Was it necessary? No.
Now every old fighting game is being asked to have a HDRemix version, all thanks to HDR.

Without the focus system and the other nuances of ultras I’d probably agree with you. T6’s rage is what I’d call a horrible comeback mechanic, I don’t mind ultras, and they do add a bit of depth to gameplay, especially with how it synergises with focus.
Neccessary? No. Worth an attempt? I’d think so. The problem seems to be is that most people are assuming it cannot be done well. SF3 has an excellent core to it, expanding upon that core seems like a pretty logical move. One thing that does confuse me though, why are so many 3S players I know at least open to the idea of a “fourth blast” but not in OE being anything more or less than an arcade perfect with a better training mode?

3S is 3S. Keep it that way.

As for oversaturation of the fighting game genre. No, not exactly. However, I’m pretty much come to the point where I really don’t care for collecting fighting games and would rather get good at them. I’m tired of seeing the same few guys posting like they know about every game in existence but not actually taking their supposed skill anywhere. Go to some tournaments and prove that you know your shit about the games out now or play the old games by yourself.
Oh, and I was talking to someone yesterday and kinda had a little revelation. I think it’s quite possible that Capcom are trying to make EVO a Capcom tournament with a little bit of Namco throw in. I know it seems like a conspiracy theory (which it is), but it’s becoming way too coincidental.
Who doesn’t see EVO looking like this in a few years?

Too be honest. I’ve given up hating on the fighting game scene being purely Street Fighter IV players and have instead looked at what the key figures in their community have done with grassroot tournaments. I’m really liking the look of MK9 but if I rely on someone else to push the scene for me it may never happen. So I’m gonna do it myself.
It worked for the Melty Blood scene.

See you were doing pretty well untill you came out with this. This just makes you sound equally blind as the 4 fanboys. Depite being great games 3S and ST have major issues.
I know both ST and 3S have major issues but what I was trying to get at was that 3S (and ST for that matter) don’t need any changes.
The game is fine as it is.
Don’t try to fix what ain’t broke.
EDIT: Besides, all 3SHDR would do is split the community apart, just like HDR and ST.
