Secondly, a man will hold off on sex for several different reasons. If he feels it’s not the right time, if he’s not interested in it yet with a particular person, maybe he all of a sudden feels physically inadequate, maybe he’s got performance anxiety? Who knows?

That is what I suggested, but apparently he denies it. As for the cheating, I also suggested that, but she doesn’t think he is. So confusing. The only time I dated a guy that held back sex was when we were both virgins, but I attribute that to nervousness on both our parts (and it didn’t last long).

Personally, if I’m feeling a girl, I just talk to them and try to pursue. Giving her a gift randomly will project the “I’m gonna buy you something and hope that you get the hint” vibe. Women appreciate it when you’re direct with them about your feelings, it shows that you’re not a pussy. Just talk to her one of these days and try to make something happen. If you were to give her a gift and she says,“thanks”, then what? Oh that’s right, you’re still gonna have to try to talk to her to get anywhere, so you might as well just save the money and step to her like a man.
When trying to get women, you should never do it in a roundabout way. You’ll just waste a bunch of time and leave the woman with an easy way out:

I might be the wrong guy to answer this question. My personal creed is “If I can hit, I will.” I’ve gotten down during horrible flu viruses, with a broken collarbone…all sorts of nonsensical situations.
That having been said, I have missed opportunities for sex. A lot. Usually, I just don’t realize it. Maybe I’m playing a game and I get really into it, and the wife wants sex, but she doesn’t really communicate that to me in a way that I understand. Her signals are too subtle and I don’t pick up on them (men are stupid - women, you need to learn this). This frustrates me because I would have gladly dropped what I was doing but I just didn’t know.
And there are times when I just don’t want to. Mainly, if she irritates me/pisses me off, and then does that magical thing where she flips the switch and now she wants to be all happy-friendly. Nah. For example, if she nags me about doing something, and I do it just so she’s stop riding me about it. After I finished, she wants to get down but I’m still salty over getting nagged. Something like that.
