The Dead Or Alive series and the Virtua Fighter series are MUCH GREATER than the Tekken series. This is what the Dead Or Alive and the Virtua Fighter series has over the Tekken series:
Better character desighns
More depth in gameplay
Better stages and music
Better combos
More technical
ALL characters are playable
The Tekken series lacks all of those above but, Tekken is still playable. The game is TOO easy and not as technical than Dead Or Alive and Virtua Fighter.
I assume Lycan is talking about Mavel Superheroes vs. Street Fighter. Thats the only thing I can think of because he said, “MVC (which he probably was talking about Marvel vs. Capcom) was not running at full speed”.
Shouldn’t that be the other way around. PPPKKK, PPKK+Down and Kick, PPP, KKK. That’s like a 12 hit combo on both of those games. Seems a little difficult and too technical to me too I guess :tdown:
Virtua fighter shouldnt been in this conversation because at a master level of gameplay u can always get your ass whipped by a novice jabbin at you til u get knock out of the ring! (WACK) DOA is a excellent game but the whole PPPKKK shit is user friendly. On the other hand a novice on Tekken will never beat a Tekken pro, NEVER. In MY opinion, that’s wut puts Tekken above the rest. :tup:

Check out some jap VF vids, the US sucks ass at that game. We’re a tekken country for whatever fucked up reason. I don’t even know why such a shitty franchise ever caught on.
I will never be good at Virtuo Fighter because I dont play it. Its not a good game 2 me. Watching Jap vids isnt goin to change my opinion. A game that has ring outs on any stage is just not a good game 2 me. That goes for Soul Calibur & Real Bout 1 also. From what i’ve seen of VF (and I’ve seen alot) Top rank players get beat by noobs all the time. The Japan vids are not goin 2 show u a noob vs a top ranked player. You have 2 see it for yourself to even speak on it really.

Exactly, you don’t play it. You can’t really speak on who’s actually good in VF, and who’s average, and who, well, sucks.
I don’t like 3d fighters in general, but VF, that I respect.
Yeah, the way it realistically jumps 30 feet then floats gently to the ground again. Tekken, though plagued by bullshit juggles, at least has realistic positioning and jumping; that’s something virtua fighter never had. Tekken has been respected for a long time. Virtua Fighter didn’t even mature until 4.
My personal opinion:
Dead or Alive - Visually stunning, great sound effects. I never got into this game that deeply but I thought it was decent. It was just a little “bland” to me is all. 7.0/10
Virtua Fighter - Good game. I discovered how deep the game actually was once I watched a few experts play…however, ringouts totally ruined the game for me, otherwise I woulda rated it higher. 7/10
Tekken - Visually stunning, sounds top notch, interesting characters (it has ROBOTS!). I’d rate the game a 10 except for the fact its one of those games that does not let you get up off the ground once you are knocked down…I hate that worse than ring outs. 7/10
Now to piss people off…
Naruto 3 - Hey its a 3D fighter! Visually stunning, almost 30 characters, combo driven, allows a player to get out of combos and best of all, you can get up after being knocked to the ground. It has supers and 4 player simultaineous gameplay. Only drawback to this game are infinites. Thanx to our friends in Japan, they have discovered infinites…which aren’t really hard to do. when used, it turns a great game into instant trash. Otherwise, 9/10

B) Upgrade, Mod, Turn into a Sexbox Same thing.
C) I do not need to attempt to emasculate you when you do a good enough job as it is!

Dead or Alive was a crap game, never before have i ever seen a game that need button mashers just to play it!
Virtual fighter looked good and kinda put the feeling of old bad B-movies, super high jumps and stuff only seen on the big screen.
Tekken----I can see why it gets on your last nerves when you get knocked down on the ground, but like most things in Tekken it is all about attisapation. there are ways of getting up, and getting up at the right time, or kicking, or whatever, point is you got to try like hell to think ahead of the other fighter in order to win. I guess with skill and all it comes down to who thought ahead the most and/or who hits harder with their combos…

The bottom line is that there are more die hard Tekken fanatics in the world then VF or DOA. So the people have spoken. There r more Die hard fans for a reason… because its better. (to most gamers)
