The bottom line is that there are more die hard Tekken fanatics in the world then VF or DOA. So the people have spoken. There r more Die hard fans for a reason… because its better. (to most gamers)

Are there? There’s more diehard Tekken fans in the US, but I’ve never heard jack about which one is more popular in Europe. I know Tekken isn’t that big in Japan(which is why T5 came out in the US first), whereas VF has been the biggest moneymaker there for the longest time-damn near everyone plays it. Can’t say I remember which game was bigger in Korea and China, I want to say Tekken was bigger in Korea, but I honestly don’t remember.

I personally don’t like VF because it’s just button mashing, no one even noticed the game here till 4 when they finally decided to get their visuals up to par with Namco and it still looked like a bunch of toys. In Japan it’s all the rave, but they play a lot of things we don’t play here. DOA is not in the picture, it just looks good. I agree with the majority that Tekken can get irritating mainly because I wasn’t a Tekken fan till like Tag or Tekken 4. I love 5, I like the whole franchise even. Great visuals, the walls are gay, but realistic, tournaments have walls. It’s a more in depth game than VF and Dead or Alive in my opinion. Well tournaments have ring outs too in VF’s defense, but my vote goes to Tekken inspite of it’s flaws. It just takes a bit more to play that game.

By the way **NARUTO ** will be airing on Toonami(Cartoon Network) this fall. I’m glad to see it come here and hope it gets DragonBall type fame. But I also I hope fans won’t turn it down because for those of us who watch it know the series didn’t pick up till around Zabuza, the guy with the big sword(Episode 10 I believe) and it really didn’t get sweet until the Chunnin Exams(The Tournament was here and the entire cast of the Second game was introduced) which were around the 30’s in episodes. Knowing how TV is here in the US it will come on every week and take till 2008 to get to Episode 130 which the series is at now because of the season breaks if were lucky. In Japan there are only a hand full of weeks that there is no new episodes of their programming. They don’t take season breaks there. It would be cool if that was done here. If that was the case US couldn’t milk DragonBall for 10 years either I swear that show started coming on here in 1996 and we are just finishing GT in like January. Also I’m not looking forward to hearing “Shadow Replication Technique” instead of Kage Bushin no Jutsu from Naruto all episode long. US ruins anime when they put special techniques in english. Just leave all the Jutsu’s in Japanese. But that would be asking for too much. But a good thing is that VIZ will be producing the series(the company responsible for the Fatal Fury anime, Ranma 1/2). They did the voice acting for the first 2 season of DragonBall Z when the voices were good.

…I happen to like the last installment called VFevo. Since adding more interesting characters (rather than the dull originals), it kinda gave it that boost it needed. It was mentioned earlier about ring-outs, I never cared for em. I keep hearing that this game has all this depth and tactics…but everyone I see playing it always revert back to basic punchs and kicks…1112-ringout. I feel that VFevo fixed alota shit that peeps complained about. Even if you hate the Ring-Outs you can now switch
to a board that has walls.

…The Tekken series was aight IMO. Although I played it since T2, it wasn’t till TTT that I really started gettin into it. The juggle were OK, I thought it would’ve been more realistic to use staggers instead but hey, I never complained. I think the Tekken series characters are more appealing…even though Lei could learn a few drunken techniques from Shun and Wong. It seems that T5 tried to go the route of VFevo with the customizing and all which is cool, but it shows who looks up to who.

…DoA I thought was entertaining at most. The most user friendly and better visuals than the rest. After you’ve seen and done everything it got boring kinda quick. If they could just utilize 4 buttons instead of 2 it might boost the game alil more. My main reason for playing was Brad Wong…after that it sat on the shelf.

…Naruto 2,3 are cool games. Fun as a multi-player…better as a 2 player. In naruto 2 there was more depth when playing head to head. I don’t know about N3 but from what I saw it was tight.

Tekken is OLD RECYCLED FACTORY TRASH! It can NEVER be in the lights of Naruto: GNT3, Tech Romancer, Project Justice, Super Smash Bros: Melee, Dead Or Alive, Dream Match TV World Fighters, and Virtua Fighter. Tekken LACKS the depth of play, the fun factor, boring and stupid characters, choppy graphics, and stupid music. (evil laughs)

The Dead Or Alive series and the Virtua Fighter series are MUCH GREATER than the Tekken series. This is what the Dead Or Alive and the Virtua Fighter series has over the Tekken series:

Better character desighns
More depth in gameplay
Better stages and music
Better combos
More technical
ALL characters are playable

The Tekken series lacks all of those above but, Tekken is still playable. The game is TOO easy and not as technical than Dead Or Alive and Virtua Fighter.

VF & DOA are your kind of games, due to the fact that they LACK SKILL to play, due to the fact that THEY ARE EASIER TO PLAY… I guarantee if the game was soooo easy even you’d win at it haha

Virtua fighter shouldnt been in this conversation because at a master level of gameplay u can always get your ass whipped by a novice jabbin at you til u get knock out of the ring! (WACK) DOA is a excellent game but the whole PPPKKK shit is user friendly. On the other hand a novice on Tekken will never beat a Tekken pro, NEVER. In MY opinion, that’s wut puts Tekken above the rest. :tup:

I even got into the game and studied it, I was sweet at it. From VF2 until VF3, first 10,000 arcade machine which is why you never prolly even played it on arcade because nobody had it… The concepts are great, but the gameplay is trash, I would know, I played it for about 2 or 3 years… I used to watch Tekken matches wishing I could play Tekken back then :tdown:
