Screw the complaints about aesthetics, it’s all the stuff inside that they’re putting in that counts. While they can’t realistically offer anything that bootleg makers like Eightarc/Qanba can in terms of dual/multi-console support, the ease of actually modding this this via the easy open top and honeycomb mounting structure is a modders dream.
I’m waiting for two things for this stick before I buy one:
[]Swappable metal panels (Astro FTW)
[]A Kitty board from Toodles
Other than that, it’s just another stick (although potentially the easiest to mod mass produced stick ever)
I should be able to help with that first one
Ready when you are, Razer!
I think the new design looks great.
The only quirk I have for it, is to add a little bit more color accent to the stick. I suggest you add a bit more green to have a better black/green accent to the stick, instead of having only the art green, and the rest of the stick black.
As a suggestion, you could add a hint of green to the turbo panel via using green LEDs for the turbo.
Other than that, as of right now, I’m thinking of the possibilities of art-modding this stick as well as utilizing the honey-comb design for multi-console usage.
Hope this helps.

Oh lord this thing looks so delicious. I’m not really worried about the dual modding stuff. We are all creative people. I mean… this is the tech talk thread for crying out loud lol. No little black box can stop the best of us. That said, I’d take that flip top lid over just about any feature any day haha.
As far as turbo goes, I love having it there. I don’t use it for my fighting games because… well it’s tournament banned anyways LOL. But I do like to use it when I play OG arcade games and stuff.
I think I’m going to go buy a VS stick to go with my TE round 1, SE, and SFxT Pro, and then grab one of these whenever they eventually come out.
still one of the biggest features to me would be a lock that actually locks start, especially since (as others stated on the main page) the buttons are on the side and could be quite easily bumped.
Do they have removable faceplates?
i hate playing all scrunched up!
i shouldn’t feel Like Im texting on my phone!
THiS! well, I prefer the Namco Noir layout as long as the metal panel is swampable, I will be interested.
It looks good, I would just prefer the start and select buttons to either be on the back of the stick or at least indented into the side, to stop accidental pushes if its on your lap… Maybe get one of those hidden start buttons like you see on the Hori SCV sticks.
Also the button to open up the stick may seem a little easy to open if you’re mashing or something… Perhaps have a cover for the button? Place a button on each side? or again, trapdoor for the button? (something easy to access but not too easy as to accidentally trip when playing). It’s not a big deal as the force from your hands on the stick should keep it shut, but just in case, like if shirt sleeves get trapped in.
Don’t really mind much about dual modding if I have easy enough access to the PCB (which it seems to be with the two screws).
Also I wouldn’t mind a bag for it either; sell it separately or discounted in a bundle.
Those are my criticisms of it, they’re not big problems but I very much like the inside (perfect for holding down extra pcbs) and simple aesthetics with opportunity to customise.
Dat.
Honeycomb.
Structure.
That’s seriously the best idea ever.
The stick has a lock switch which I assume locks Start/Back.
I also assume that folks asking about locking start actually haven’t looked at the pictures.
i wonder if this stick opens like the old model did…
They should add mounting options for Korean or Happ/IL sticks.
Have people not been checking out the images and/or the video?
saw the images, i didn’t know there was a vid, thanx!!!
I saw very little of the previous model. My bad that I brought it up.
I don’t think this is much of an issue to be honest, it looks like you still have to assist the gas strut to lift the control panel up. Even if you accidentally hit the switch, its not like the stick will stop working and your hands won’t be resting on it keeping the lid down like you said.
There’s no need to be sorry about posting questions about a product that you are interested in. More input = better product
To be honest, as nice as this sounds, it would probably make the stick unnecessarily thick to accommodate the depth that these sticks need. Not to mention that korea sticks need a wider hole than the standard 24 mm for the joystick to come out, which could interfere with the dustcover if they do choose to use a sanwa unless you were using something like a JLW’s dustcover or something.
With all respect to stick manufacturers, the market has reached the point where arcade standard parts are considered standard for top of the line sticks. The only way that companies can reach any form of differentiation with respect to their product is the product’s form, aesthetics and value added qualities. Its why the VLX could carry that 300 premium pricing range. As long as the aesthetics are top notch and the extra features add value to the overall product, Razer should have no problem coming in the market. More players means more innovation, meaning better looking products for the consumer without having to go the custom route.
It would help to differentiate Razer’s product from Hori and Madcatz. Everyone and his brother is making retail sticks that mount Japanese parts. Very few can mount Happ sticks, and only one (Saulabi) can take Korean sticks.
