I was under the impression, when I skimmed it last night, that the letter was supposed to come off as petulant, hypocritical, and insecure; kind of a “see, this is how you guys come off” reversal of “slut-shaming.” Upon actually reading it, though, I don’t think so, since a lot of the details don’t fit that reading. I guess I just wanted to hope no-one would honestly, genuinely, write a piece ostensibly criticizing slut-shaming that consists primarily of lambasting people for one night stands.
Yeah, it certainly doesn’t only exist with regard to rape, and I didn’t mean to imply that. Victim-blaming rhetoric is used to excuse or justify a lot of things.
just saw the ohio university alleged rape video on wshh with audio. its also on youtube as of right now but the one i saw had no audio, but there are multiple vids. yeah, she clearly was into it, she even took her hands and rubbed them across the side of his head to the back of it as if to push him in further at one point.
what is sad is the girl they interviewed as a part of the wshh video was like, its sad that they filmed this and put it up on social media rather then help her. her immediate first thought wasnt, well i dont know what happened, i havent seen any of the video or pictures, i find it hard to believe people stopped and filmed a rape, and she said nothing while allegedly getting raped, even when surrounded by strangers who could help her. it was omg how despicable of people to film a rape and put it on the internet. how fucking dumb do you have to be to immediately jump to such a conclusion. im sure shes young and dumb, but god damn, what kind of bubble of intellect are people living in that, that story didnt immediately sound stupid as fuck and most likely crying wolf.

go find the video if you want, and get frustrated. there should be a federal mandatory sentence of a year in jail if you falsely accuse someone of rape. its such a gross and heinous crime. im also charged up because i just watched cee lo green on the breakfastclub and he addressed his rape allegations that he said he is innocent of, can prove it, will prove it, and he would rather get caught on tape murdering someone then be even accused of rape. i feel him. but he has to hold that L temporarily because of a crazy bitch. how dumb is that. he said his big sponsors and jobs are still green lit, with only a few small sponsors backing out of recent concerts, and he had to foot the bill to keep things happening. but its all good right, she will drop the case eventually, nothing will happen to her, and the public unless he goes on a mission to make sure everyone is clear he is innocent, might still be under the impression he was charged with rape.

All this talk about blaming the victim is well and good but, women need to understand that it is not a good idea to get stupid drunk in unfamiliar places and/or with unfamiliar people. yeah yeah, they wouldn’t get raped if it wasn’t for rapists and as long as I avoid the bad parts of town, I won’t get mugged.
Women need to be active in protecting themselves. Engaging in an activity which lowers your reaction times, makes you lose coordination and judgement all at the same time is awful to do. For some reason women are being sent the message that they can engage in behavior which is dangerous and should be allowed to do so care free. Therefore if they engage in said behavior and something happens, they are not at fault at all for any of it.
Look, I’m not blaming them for getting raped. Unfortunately the facts are that we live in a world full of scumbags who will take advantage of easy prey. Regardless of how right it is that people should be allowed to get shitfaced without consequence, the reality is that it doesn’t work that way.
So while yes, it is wrong to blame the victim for being the victim, women can do a better job of avoiding the nebulous situations where things can go awfully wrong.
Women are giant babies that need to be coddled and spoon fed their gerbers because they are all special princesses and to not give them everything they want while at the same time protecting them at all cost(including throwing away your life) is sexist and misogynistic. Why can’t you stupid people understand this? All women should be able to not take any responsibility for any of their reckless and life endangering actions and still be completely safe because you peons should be killing yourself to make sure that that happens. I think the proper way to present is that there are rapists out there, just like there are thieves and murderers, and there always will be, but the question is what are you going to do to protect yourself?
