not sure what the totalfratmove site is about, but if they really do have the video, which im sure many do have video of the incident, then it sounds like a girl crying rape after she realized the whole world saw her getting that box licked online. if she was getting raped, which i couldnt understand how your getting raped by a man on his knees licking YOUR vagina while 10 or more people watched that have no idea who either of you are, then thats unfortunate, but also highly unlikely. all you have to do is say, call the cops, i dont know him, he is raping me, and there are 10 people backing you up. clearly she mustve been reciprocating the pleasure if all they did was giggle and take pictures and video.

That’s not really what people who criticize victim-blaming are disputing, though. Plenty of heinous acts could have been averted had their victims made better decisions, but that doesn’t make those heinous acts any less wrong. This is, or at least seems to be, agreed upon for almost any manner of crime excepting, strangely, rape. Somehow, the victim’s less-than-ideal decisions change from a cautionary tale of high-risk behavior others should avoid into a sort of moral absolution for the assailant. In a more far-fetched, but direct example, consider poisoning. If somebody straight-up poisons a drink, while everybody will agree that it’s a bad idea to take open drinks from strangers, the general consensus is still going to be that whoever poisoned the drink is a murderer; the fact that the victim could have prevented the case is relevant only as a warning, not as the basis for any kind of exoneration, moral or legal, for the killer. Yet, when the crime is rape, the narrative often emphasizes the victim’s culpability, sometimes to the extent of altogether erasing the rapist’s role. In your earlier example of the guy who walks around with his wallet out, whoever steals the wallet is still called a thief. Looking over this thread, can you say the same is true with regard to rape? Victim-blaming is basically stepping over a line from pointing out high-risk behavior to using that behavior as an excuse which frees the perpetrator of all culpability for their actions.
That said, this is the internet and any level of distinction beyond “women can do no wrong, all men are rapists” and “rape is a feminazi conspiracy invented to stop me, personally, from getting laid” is apparently too much to ask.
We just had a thread where cops shot an owner’s dog because the victim was being a nuisance. The discussion was a harmony of “victim blaming.” Rape isn’t the only situation where victim blaming occurs, but it’s the bullshit Internet topic du jour and in this vacuum nothing else exists.
