The Rap Thread: News, Reviews, Rants, Opinions Vol 7. Death to Swizz Beats!

When ODB was not completely incoherent or sounded dumb dude actually could spit decently. On the mixtapes were wacka flocka lame tries to rap he is terrible. Go listen to his music on youtube you will see for yourself.

odb was incoherent everytime he recorded. post an example of anything he spit after his few verses on 36 chambers.

Didn’t Diddy already cosign Jay Electronica?

"Diddy send a text every hour on the dot sayin “When you gon drop that verse nigga you taking long”

I mean, to keep it funky…i thought Soulja Boy would be a 1 hit wonder…bc he shoulda been. But, I underestimated broads once again. They’re the reason he’s eating. Its all good though.

As for this Wacka Flacka(sp?) dude? I don’t think i ever heard a track from him but, I know he is most likely garbage. I mean, this nigga sounds like a clown. Wacka Flacka?? Seriously? What i look like checking for a nigga named wacka flacka…

Is he a southern rapper huh? Its no secret that im biased against like 95% of southern rappers…so my opinion shouldn’t shock you too much lol. You mentioned Gucci too…as big as he has gotten, he is* still* garbage. I dont think he makes good music. People are just attracted to the beats…thats it. If the beat is whats saving you, idk how you can qualify that as “good music.”

Edit: In regards to ODB. You can’t tell me he was spitn on BK Zoo.

lol! i just youtube searched waka, and thats the nigga behind that song. i didnt know who that was. ha ha. jesus. i would never gain an interest in bumpin his mixtapes. waste of time. only reason i even youtube searched him is because of all this talk about dude. i cannot cosign that debs. gross. dudes names even stupid like someone already said.

these new dudes and chicks is just random singles to have on the hard drive when you havin a get together or something, but eh, no thank you other than that. i tried a little, and i cant get with it. i downloaded souljas mixtapes and tried to get through that hell. i finally decided to pay attention to minaj, and then she just started randomly spazzing during her bars. i dont even know who sings the stinky leg, and im sure his shit is trash. what the fuck is a lil boise, or however you spell that. the list goes on.

but thats just me. im 27 and the only reason i have even given this pile of trash thats been dropping for years any type of attention, is because im forced to hear it so much because i go out so much, and thank god i havent listened to radio for almost a year now, and never really did in the first place for probably almost a decade, other then for bmore club shit, and even thats not what it use to be. a vast majority of this shit sucks, and is not the future. ten years from now if someone puts on that most recent soulja boy mixtape, i will straight smack them in the jaw, but i could die listening to, your all i need, remix and original. i could gladly be 38 bumping, n o r e, nore, stands for niggaz on a run eatin, no matter if ya still treatin.

its just a stupid worthless generation being raised right now, that are only good at informal socializing online. they dont know shit about shit. i shake my cane at them i guess, since 27 is kinda considered old round these parts. i cant get with it like that. sorry. bump it in the club, ill drunkenly get my swag on with the ladies, but then go home and stay stuck in the 90’s and late 80’s. lol. im still irritated how watered down even my baltimore club is. that shit was raw as fuck in the 90’s to early 2000’s, and was still kicking. unfortunately besides the baltimore club website i just found, i been out the loop for almost 2 years since being away, but i think anyone my age who was out back then, and listening and taping every thursday, friday, and saturday night spin by kswift and them, know that shit done changed. even the rock in my opinion still aint as good as it was. 21st century has just brought us trash for us to get back to whats good eventually. lol. rage!

ODB has to be one of the illest mc’s of all time: but dude’s presence makes me listen…but as far as the whole new joints being wack. There is ALOT of heat going on in the underground i’ll post some joints in my next post.

I’m sorry you can’t get back the time you spent listening to Wacka Flocka Lame jimmy.

keep it real, if odb dropped in 2009/2010, niggas would be like dude is open ass. and no, he wasn’t spitting on brooklyn zoo. it’s a dope song (and one of my fav) but bar for bar its garbage. his charisma and production carried him completely. just like waka flocka, you aren’t supposed to think about what he said but treat the music as entertainment and vibe with it.

all i’m saying is that charisma > lyrics in hip hop. always has been. always will be. if i had to add on to that i’d say that niggas on their high horse (specifically wu fans…from the interview and the talk thereafter) need to get off of it with their selective memory.

Word, Dirty has had some incredibly dope verses in his day. Wacka Flocka will never in his life spit an ill verse. We’ve moved so far away from what rap music is about that you don’t even have to know how to rap to be a rapper in 2010.

and no disrespect to the rappers i like that are still putting out shit, because im still down, and there are new people i like definitely. im on mixtapetorrent.com all the time, but i cant get with a lot of this shit. especially not some of the more popular new artist. i still trip off some of them tellin the old rappers to move. thats like some 2009 member who cant fadc into ultra consistently telling valle or wong to gtfo. at least be good first before you try to tell someone to get out your shit. ha ha. ol young 120 pound rappers with too many tattoos trying to bogard someboday. ha ha. wtf!

but you have cam in your av and niggas swore up and down from 2003-like a year and a half ago that cam was absolute garbage. me, myself and i was like the only person on this site telling ppl that the music was dope and they’re missing out…

and now look. mad niggas fuck with cam; same niggas that said he was garbage and said they’d never listen to him. same niggas that always cited get em girls when cam had a pretty good ratio as far as dope songs to wack songs. nigga been ass since early, very early 04 and niggas hopped on the bandwagon extra late. dipset broke up and the music been watered down for years but ppl hopped on in like 05/06. dipset been ass since late 03 and ppl hopped on like two years later.

if a UN tape dropped tomorrow niggas would fiend the night before.
if a solo cam tape dropped next week niggas would fiend for it all week.

lets keep it 100.

Addressing the 09/10 argument…ummm the same could be said for 90% of the rappers we grew up listening too. Whats your point?? The rap game is in a completely different spot right now.

Also your charisma>>>lyrics stance is just plain wrong. If what you said was true Busta would be the GOAT hands down. Sure it plays a part but to flat out say charisma>>lyrics?? Nah, not true. Niggas gotta keep it funky son. You reaching Debs.

all the dope artists that made it have huge charisma. charisma, lyrics, production, etc. are all factors. what i’m saying is that charisma is a bigger factor than ppl make it seem.
lyrics are overrated. yeah, i said it. its the reason why the underground will stay underground. many of them lack charisma. or one of the other factors that makes ppl want to fuck with them.

bar for bar odb in 2010 would be considered garbage. period. but he would still make it due to charisma.
back then, ppl were fascinated by anything wu and odb was so different than what ppl were used to…but nobody complimented his lyrics. it was all about his image. his persona.

ppl have selective memory. ppl are reaching when it comes to odb and his “dope” bars.

I’m from the south and hate 95% of our music, fuck a waka flaka.

LOL ok…

Before I continue…i just need to know one thing. Do you honestly consider this wacka dude nice?? Like do you really like his music?

I never once gave up on Killa, even when he dropped the mediocre effort that was “Crime Pays”. I will forever be a member of the church of Cam and I rock my old Diplomats shirt at least once a month. I can’t speak for everyone else though.

Your argument would be a lot stronger if you didn’t overgeneralize so much. You can’t honestly make blanket statements for all of rap, because of how diverse the audiences are for each artist. Lyrics aren’t as important in the South, but they’re really fucking important on the East Coast. I know you saw “OJ Da Joo Man” get booed off stage in NY a few months ago.

I’ve been listening to Cam since 1998. GTFO.

I never liked ODB. Sue me.

Wakka Flakka is trash. End of discussion. Let’s move on.

the audience wasn’t the right audience for oj. whoever set him up for that appearance shoulda been fired.

lets take an audience that wants to see a camu tao concert…followed by copywrite and maybe hear a few cuts from rjd2. now put lil wayne in front of that audience. are they gonna fuck with him? or boo?

now take camu tao and put camu tao in front of an audience that came to see weezy or so icey or somebody like that. are they gonna fuck with camu? hell na.

there’s a difference between “being nice” and having good music IMHO.

I still don’t understand how some of those XXL Freshmen got put on the cover. Donnis? Really?

Eating boiled eggs and Twizzlers for dinner > Listening to a Donnis album

oj should not have made that list. at all. period. sorry.
lol @ the free.
