The Rap Thread: News, Reviews, Rants, Opinions Vol 7. Death to Swizz Beats!

I don’t know what’s funnier, Swizz “I have an head out of this world” Beatz having an illegitimate childer with some russian chick or Nicki Minaj firing her manager…who just happens to be the mother of Fonzie Bear. :wonder:

+Rep…doh thats soo 2009 of me…

Yo… this nigga said “And my Jordan game ugly//Elephant Man, I should hide myself”

downloads mixtape

i got you. i’m going to make maybe like two or three folders…one for gucci mane, one for waka flaka and maybe the last folder will be a combo of oj, wooh and frenchie. i’ll upload them all in a single rar file and post the link this week. it’ll be folders filled with songs that ppl will like.

oh and the gucci and waka songs will be dj free. the oj songs too, for the most part. i might also include mixtapes in the folders…there are a few mixtapes that are dope from each brick squad artist. also i have to include slim dunkin in there since supposedly he is signed to so icey and he is prolly the dopest lyrically that they have.

brick squad has songs ppl in this thread would feel even if they don’t think they would.

when you look at it from the aspect of:
the bird chains they have
the plate chain that gucci has
the protege thing (gucci plus oj or gucci plus waka)
the amount of mixtapes
the amount of original music on the tapes
the adlibs
the brick squad bird shirts
the in house original production creating their sound
the whole crew is full of bloods
a bunch of random niggas not well known claim so icey
some of their crew call themselves taliban
etc.

these guys are very similar to dipset. i think gucci is influenced by cam.

on another note…

White -Code Name

yes, dude is 40 years old or so. yes he is a white crip with dreads (and supposedly an OG). yes he has grey in his beard. but the song is hot. fuck it.:smokin:

Yes. And those are clearly the reasons I listened to the Dips.

this is going in the folder…
gucci mane -the general freestyle

of course

gucci mane/nicki minaj -slumber party

might throw this in there:

waka flocka/ms go ham/frenchie (and the full track has mad ppl on it)

waka flocka/lil cap/etc. -ray ray

waka flocka -gucci got me straight:

waka flocka/southside -lambo dis summer
(can’t find a non dj track on youtube but i have it in my ipod dj free…)

shit is hot to me. he’s really freestyling over the track and the track is hot so…

Bun’s had bars since the early 90s man…I wasn’t bumpin’em (not going to pretend to be someone I’m not, I listened to their stuff a bit, but didn’t hop on full until I herd Bun killin’em on the remixs with Lil Jon and songs like “Rep Yo City”) but I do now…my joint…its a mental image thing is hisjoint with Slim Thug “Built for business as god as my witness/have you runnin that country mile and not for physical fitness/ (hold up)”…that line always gets me to do the little cup your hands over your mouth “ooooooo” expression.

I dunno…
Free Pimp C…

i think buns verse on murder should of easily set the tone for who he was…even during raps “segregation” timeline… also people fail to recognize bun studied as a English major… one of the reasons why his pro-nun-ciation and wordplay are very distinct

an yes

i miss pimp c so much

“…i did her on a box of 10s an a pioneer amp”

“…if ya bitch get mad when u say dat talk… but hur ass out on da highway an make dat bitch walk…”

waka in the studio:

Someone got dat LB album?

PM ya boy!

I never peeped that mixtape. Now, I gotta go back and let it marinate in the whip.

The Little Brother album hasn’t officially dropped, there’s just an advance floating around.

And No Mixtape was good. Definitely a good warm up entree for the main course, Trill OG. I wish #16, Greatest of All Times was the full song. Bun is definitely one of the best rappers in the South.

I checked out that XXL 10 Freshman for 10 Mixtape. Mostly for Nipsey and Gibbs but the joint is overall solid.

Heres my two favorite joints from XXL’s 10 Freshman for 10 Mixtape:

Exactly what I expect from Nip. Will be riding to this joint on the reg.

I love this beat and Fa rode it nicely.

The biggest surprise was from my boy Gangsta Gibbs, his two joints on here are dissapointing. Not as bad as OJ’s generic, boring garbage ass joints. Probably why they put his two tracks at the end of the mixtape. I want to like Jay Rock because I like mostly gangsta rap, but his two joints here are decent not great. I heard Rocks latest mixtape and didnt really like it, slob artists(Rock, Game) just suck compared to Crip artists(Nip, Snoop) I know what gang I would be repping in LA if I wasnt a King. Be C-walking on their blocks.

cups hands over mouth
"ooooooooooooooooooo"

So I was having an argument with myself of who were the best ‘game spitters’ in the L and was curious who ya’ll thought was. I mean you got someone like E-40 who talks about shit from an average drug dealer position. You got Too Short & Ice T doin their best to steal your chick and get money off her. NY got tons of folks who talk a whole bunch of generic shit. You had Pimp C who kept it 100…I mean who do you think really spits that real talk the most? Not necesarily “Yeah random Rapper sells that shit!”, more like it sounds like they are passing on truth instead of random shit. I got Pimp C with no one near him, and having difficulty pulling a distant #2.

I can truly say that Bun B is a king of the south. Just like alot of folks I am not big on alot of southern rappers but I do like Bun B. I can listen to Bun B way more than I can T.I. and some other bammas.

It depends on what you mean by “game spitting” and “real talk”.

To me, kicking a bitch out on the highway doesn’t really apply to my life (though, if you know me, you’d know that I did kick a girl out of my car in downtown Baltimore once), so is that “real talk” to me, or just random rapper bullshit?

If you’re talking about real talk, then rappers like Jay, 3 Stacks, and T.I. stand out much more, to me, than a Too Short, Pimp C or Snoop do.

RAWSE’s ear for beats >>>> All

His new single is beautiful, Jesus…

*Teflon Don Coming Soon!

BAWSE!*

Wow I could’ve went too. Thought it was next week lol. But the thought of Lupe x Jay Electronica is too insightful. School curriculums will be obsolete.

@Hav: You moved bricks? Idk how Jay, or T.I. would be real otherwise. “Un was your first case you had no priors” STILLMATIC!!! IDK if 3k even did dirt.

Please homie.

One thing about both Jay and Tip is that if you listen to their music, even if you didn’t live the life they did, you can relate to it. You understand why they made decisions they did. You recognize it all from the standpoint of a man. You know who TyTy, B-High, Emory, Eric, Leville, Kap, Kern, Quent, Ende, Bankhead, Jeru, and Big Phil are. If you can’t relate to that… I don’t know.

Most relateable Jay song IMO is Hard Knock Life, Anything, and Song Cry. Live in the Sky is a favorite from TI. Doin My Job is an example. I know why you did this that and the 3rd but that doesn’t go with my life. I know why Charle’s Manson commanded them broads to do his work, but I can’t relate to it. 04-05 Ye is relateable as fuck i.e. Spaceship, Family Business, Dear Mama, School Spirit, Heard em Say, Touch the Sky, Roses. Frustrated not getting ahead, family gatherings, sickness, racism. I didn’t say I disliked their music at all but just because you understand why they did shit does not make me go “I know exactly how you feel on that one. I beat the case too! Don’t you hate when the Columbians pull that shit?” Didn’t Jay start sellin cuz he got salty that his Jaz-O stunt FLOPPED? Hawaiian shirts ftw btw. I think a better phrase would be “down to Earth” or “undertsandable” It all comes down to an interpretation of the word.

On the subject of droppin knowledge it’s Ghostface and Pimp C are first.

Damn, Officer Ricky be lyin’ his ass off over some great beats!

Plays new BAWSE single for the 10th time
