The Rap Thread: News, Reviews, Rants, Opinions Vol 7. Death to Swizz Beats!

facepalm

Here are a few of my disapointing albums:

R.A. The Ruggedman-Die Rugged Man Die(Definetly expected alot more from Rugged, some of the beats were horrible)
Wu Tang Clan-8 Diagrams
Nas-Nastradomus
Common-Finding Forever(It’s no where near a bad album it was just missing something imo)
50 Cent-The Massacre(I think it’s a hot album now tho,but at the time me feeding into all the hype got me side tracked, good i got my own opinions now)
Ghostface Killah-Big Doe Rehab(same as Finding Forever)
Talib Kweli-Beautiful Struggle(Can’t beleive I bought this instead of Black On Both Sides, waste of 15 bucks)

Graduation didn’t disappoint me at all, but 808s did.

Relapse disappointed me. I read a review saying how dated the sound was, and its true.

Busta’s album was super disappointing, considering how good Big Bang was.

50’s album was insanely forgettable.

detox ain’t coming out this year. how you gonna expect the album to come out when you can’t even drop the single on the day you say it’s going to be out?

smh.

 anytime something has icey in it I instantly hear gucci mane-icy in my head, that shit is terrible.

yo debs you fuck with brick squad? i wanna get on to them… recommend me some mixtapes to get, if they are like a southern 02-04 dipset then i need that in my life.

They’re not.

 at the thought of Gucci Mane, OJ Da Joo Mane and Wacka Flocka Flames holding a candle to the great Cameron Giles, LaRon James and Joseph Jones.

Protip: The difference is that Dipset actually knows how to rap.

Downloaded Bun B’s No Mixtape and its getting heavy play in the whip. Along with A-Mafia’s Lord of the Streetz which is a certified street heater. Easily best mixtapes this year so far, the streets needed some new sounds.

Take a listen to my two favorite joints of Bun’s No Mixtape -

Bun B is one, if not the REAL king of the south. Easily my favorite MC from the south. Bun gets MAD FUCKING RESPECT for using what is easily…easily the street anthem of the Chi. Adrenaline Rush is THE song that represents every hood, every mob, every street and every young mothafucker that faces the Reapers stare on the daily. Doesnt touch the classic, but is def nice to see him try his hand at it. TrillOG day one no question.

Cam and Vado >>>>>

^^^Is that from Boss of All Bosses pt. 2? I don’t see it in the version I got. That song sounds gutter.

Dr. Dre still playing April Fool’s tricks.

And I searched for the Little Brother, but they don’t have a group rip yet, just an advance.

The Murs/9th is aiight.

Finally got to listen to Skyzoo Salvation. Tight joint.

And Raymond vs. Raymond. I’m not sure what happened or why dude fell off. The music was good (definitely for the ladies).

Cam and Vado is a good ass combination . Now why can’t we get some more dipset I mean damn these niggas would sound great on a track again.

the last album i had high hopes for but was really disappointed for was cage’s last album, shit was garbo, blueprint 3 was pretty disappointing too but i didn’t have high expectations for it.

It’s from Boss of all Bosses 1

Anyone listening to J Cole? I recently listened to his warm up mixtape and that kid is sounding good. Looking forward to his debut.

Bah, I need to get up on that Bun B mixtape…I fux with his music hard. I can’t front though, I want another UGK album. I love Bun B, but Pimp C was like the PERFECT yang to his Yin, just didnt’ recognize it until I started listening to the Bun B solos a bit more in depth and realized why it felt the charisma was missing or something…Pimp C brought that intangable touch.

Man I still havne’t figured out the entire first part to Big Pun’s verse on Twinz
"Ready for war Joe how you want to blow they spot?/

Hop in the hummer than punisher ready/

Everybody kiss the fucking floor Joey Crack bust’em all/
If they move Noddle shoot that fuckin whore/
Dead in the middle of little Italy insert still dunno what the fuck he’s saying

Throw Back albums of the day - Lost Boyz - Legal Drug Money - RIP Freaky Tah; Canibus - 2000 B.C.
Throw Back tracks of the day - Da Brat - Sittin on Top of the World; Wyclef - Gone Till November

  • :bluu:

a “gwop” or wop is a slang/slur for italians, not to be confused with “guap” as in money lol

“I know some dirty cop that’ll get us in if we murder somewop” - We’ll be in the favor of this corrupt cop if we kill an Italian.

and…“Dead in the middle of little Italy, little did we know that we riddled some middleman who didn’t do diddly.”

dope lupe freestyle at a random show from the looks of it.
