In that case, I’d like to know how this idea became such common knowledge if it turned out that it’s not actually true.
I was specifically referring to the XBox 360 rage quits. I don’t know anything about the PS3.
u know it’s really sad that ppl on psn can’t act right…that really pisses me off, and something needs to be done to fix that…
Ok, well, now we know about the PS3. Is this something that they can fix, or something that is a feature of Live that PSN simply isn’t designed to be able to do?
I have it on X360, and I’m not credited with the wins from those who’ve quit on me.
if u quit a match u get a loss on your record if they quit quit you get a win so can someone tell me what is the big deal if someone quits on you
That’s not necessarily the case, which is kind of the problem. There’s a tendency towards that on the 360, and it doesn’t happen at all on the PS3. So I think the non-equivalance of the experience is what’s confusing to people, in part.
Someone ragequit on me this morning (Eddie Ryugi) and I got the win credited and being as the weekly is short, I found him at 4-0 still.
He still had his storm and psylocke left. Dunno why he bolted when he could have staged a comeback. Heh.
Connection issues will seem like rage quits too. I’ve had the game freeze on me when I was in the lead. I can promise you those definitely weren’t rage quits. 
So wait, the 360 version gives the ragequitter a loss and the one who didn’t quit a win, but the PS3 version doesn’t give the ragequitter a loss!

I spoke to the lead MVC2 dev about this at length before the game came out.
He said that ragequit evaluation is handled by Microsoft’s XBL backend, which determines who quits and assigns wins/losses accordingly. Specifically, when you exit a game (either though pause menu, exit to dash, or power button), the game sends a signal to XBL that says “I lost.”
I’m not sure exactly how the game interprets a physical network disconnect or a physical power disconnect, but those are the facts as they were explained to me.

I don’t quit and I’m not good, I’ll admit it. If anyone wants some relatively easy wins on PSN hit me up. Just don’t be too surprised if I eventually catch on (like in a couple of months) and improve.
I don’t usually mind ragequitters so much, but every so often it’ll make my X-Box freeze when it happens. So yeah that’s annoying.
i just realized that the other night, that when these fuckers are randomly turning of their xbox to quit, my xbox freezes. its not all the time, cause sometimes they are still online, but i did realize a couple times that was the case.
People who coward out, are not actually true gamers. A true gamer takes defeat (no matter how bad they get pounded) and saddles up for another battle. People who play like that are not actually trying to win, they just want to cause ruckus within the MvC2 community. Now, on the other hand, frustration can come about if someone plays cheap i.e Spiral/Sent/Blackhrt. Now that will make anybody angry, especially if they brag that they beat you. Ive played people at the Galleria, who played Spiral/Sent/Capcom. They would chunk swords, Sent force, and Capcom abuse. It made me angry, because I knew the guy wasnt a real challenge, but he was beating me pretty bad. So, the next match, I left the j-stick, and let someone else play him. He started laughing, like he was dominating or some crap. I told him he was a coward, and he doesnt even know how to do basic combos, thats why he plays that way. But overall, people who rage out, are nothing more than grown men crybabies, who need to relax on the steroid use before matches…

Im LMao at this scrubby post, you are actually complaining about spiral “chunking swords” what the hell did you expect him to do? Sentinel doing Sent force once again what do you expect him to do (also there is a way to get out of the block damage of sent force making this tactic obsolete and your complaint invalid). “Abusing Capcom” lol capcom is a great assist and he should be using him as much as humanly possible, if the guy is truly “abusing” his assist then you should be able to punish it quite easily.
u called a guy a coward because he doesnt play the game in the way that you approve of? good god. and you lost to someone that cant even do basic combos. this guy obviously prefers to play keep away and lock his opponent down, there is nothing wrong with that considering its a viable tactic if he has good timing and execution plus if he is winning he must be doing something right.

i think someone shut their box off on my earlier because all of a sudden like 3 dr dooms were on the screen fighting. then my box froze.
I just had someone DC just as the game started. He had Cable and Cyke on his team. Is it that he’s allowed to use high tiers but I’m not, or is it just Sent that’s cheap?
