CHARGING UP TO 9000!!!

His up smash seems pretty solid, and his down smash is nice because no matter which side you are facing you will hit your opponent (assuming he doesn’t dodge roll or something).

ROB is definitely my fav right now. He just seems BEASTLY. Like Sentinel Jr. from MvC2. LOL

I’m still working on the Reverse Aerial and spiking with him, but man he’s my fave.

Also, any tips on using his Side Special (the arm spin thing) for reflecting projectiles? I’m trying to find ways of utilizing it w/o getting creamed afterwards. It might just be a bad move, but any ideas would help.

I’ve been using R.O.B. to see how I like him but he’s not my type. His Side B move doesn’t do much damage and you can’t combo into it. I think it’s strictly used for deflecting projectiles. All of his airs are good with the exception of Uair. Uair is good for racking up a bit of damage and that’s about it. His Bair is very good and you can hit people on both sides. If you short hop is bair it can be pretty good. is Dair is good, but it just has a wee bit of start up time.

I never use his side A. I always either go for the dash attack or dash cancel into his A,A since the second hit knocks up for racking up UAir damage or FAir combos. I short hop his BAir using the reverse aerial. I’ve got it down really well except for the connection part. I can hit it about 50% of the time. Spiking with the DAir is really tough.

i don’t know what I’m doing when I use him but I win whenever I pick him so he must be good!

I haven’t tried dash canceling or the reversal aerial any of his moves yet but that should make his moves better. I’ll need to learn to do those techniques.

Rob’s Nair, Bair, and Upsmash is be teh win.

ROB is a beast!! Every move has a usefulness to it. Here is my little break down of our little robotic friend.

Jab (AA) are fast and can surprise an opponent
DownB is good to have charged up because it has good knockback at higher percents
F-Smash is pretty good knock back and fairly fast.
D-Smash is amazing… you can do this out of shield quickly
U-Smash i have trouble hitting with but still powerful when I do hit.
N-Air is good but you have to watch out for the start up time. Hits every thing around him. Good knockback, kills.
U-Air is good for damage and thats about it.
B-Air is a good killing move, again a little bit of start up time. Good knockback and kills.
D-Air is a good spike but i have troubles hitting with it most of the time. It also slows his falling time.

Pay attention to his F-Air people… its amazing.
if you and your opponent are close to the stage, hit him with F-Air and follow it up with another F-Air. By now you should have used your second jump, but this is where rob shines. Use his UpB to continue to follow him with more F-Airs and you should have KOed him or at least they used their second jump and can’t recover to the stage again. Its a great tactic that i saw on a youtube video before. My friends all call me a cheap bastard for doing it because i at least KO them twice a round with his F-Air. Have fun playing ROB… he is seriously top tier if not the most fun character in the game .

Anyone tried that new backdash B move with the C-Stick on Rob?

Fun things I’ve discovered with ROB.

Arial momentum shift - with the exception of his f and u arials, these moves negate/reverse the momentum due to the fact the jets give him propulsion in that direction. I’ve used his back and down arials to evade as well as attack due to the confusion this can cause an opponent.

Topanana - A fully charged top will linger as a weapon for a while. I’ve found this to set up bounceback combos with his arials, which if you keep your opponent between you and the top, can knock them into the top, back into you, and repeat a few times depending on how charged the top was and their percentage. Finish off by picking it up and chucking it at them off the stage after said combo. Not too unlike Diddy’s banana’s, in that respect.

Ghetto-Landmaster - While ROB’s up arial isn’t about to kill anyone in its own right, it does pop them up to a degree. On stages with low ceilings, catching someone with an up tilt, jump, up arial, double jump, up arial, then up+b & up arial 'til off the top isn’t that difficult, providing the opponent doesn’t have a really high priority move to counter (Toon Link’s d-air, for example). I can’t say I’ve mastered this, but I’ve definitely managed it a couple times.

ROB is incredibly good. He’s the only character I enjoy playing as much as metaknight. All around he just seems too solid. His ground game owns, his anti-nazi jewish death dradle is spammable, he’s got a full screen edge guard with his laser, all his normals are beast, what’s not to love?

f.tilt is really nice too, it’s got long ass range and you can angle it. d.tilt is spammable, and I think down smash might be THE BEST MOVE IN THE GAME. Complete instant 360 coverage with good damage, good knock back, combo potential, and it’s pretty safe. I like to just roll behind people and go for this. It’s definitely his best move. Fair comes close though. And I actually like his nair a lot. It takes some getting used to but don’t look at the move, just pretend it hits in a big aura around him, because it’s pretty much just a 360 sphere of death.

Uair is his best smash ball breaking move and one of the best I’ve seen so far in the game. But yeah, not too great for hitting people. And I think nair is a great move, its hitbox stays out for a long time and it does great hitstun, so it’s safe against most characters. You have to start it early, but that’s fine because it stays active for so long. Earlier today I went through a Link uair with it.

How do you NOT like his Suplex?

what do you guys think is a good approach against Metaknight? Ceir is giving me big trouble because of it!

When I have a good charged laser, I like to use it when Metaknight is approaching. The Gyro I like to charge up and toss right after a good laser.

Down Smash is pretty good for approaching in. I can’t decide whether to use the C stick for that air back dash with laser or down smash but… jump in down smash is too nice.

Ok at first I was hatin on R.O.B. when a N00b used him and was spamming the laser and top thingy so i hated R.O.B. But yesterday when my cousin used him I saw how awesome and strong he really is :looney:
