naaaa son. 7 made the game something EVERYBODY played. Before that, Nintendo wasn’t even willing to release some of the games. Then 8 came out, and people bitched that Square was just making barely interactive movies. Every attack was a long cutscene, and all the cutscenes (space station fucking song) were retarded.
9 tried to go back to it’s roots. Depending on who you talk to, this was either a success or a failure.
X was quality again, but I think that was more of a lucky strike (due to voice acting and such), than them returning to form or anything. Then it was a straight fucking pitfall.

It’s not that Robocop 2 is bad, it just doesn’t live up to the first (or any of Verhoeven’s US movies). I still haven’t seen a better robot-on-robot fight scene (in a live-action movie) than Robocop vs Cain.

I can’t believe noone mentioned GuildWars/ArenaNet. GW started off very high, then turned into the best game ever, Factions came and it dropped a bit, still staying high,
Nightfall was released and it was instantly dead. That was the quickest fall I’ve seen ever. The end of factions was really, really, really damn good; the beginning of Nightfall was flat trash.
GW never recovered and instead gradually got EVEN WORSE. Now they’re picking GW2 up where they left off GW1 and continue the racing plummet. So much wasted potential.
What fell off the quickest? Me. :sad: I might like them, but this brother is not meant to ride a horse.

yeah, but that was a studio issue. The original script by Frank Miller was apparently quite good.
They made FM’s original Robocop scripts into a comic and it was apparently shit.
Not that studio interference didn’t result in drastically different scripts, but the movies probably still would have been shit otherwise.

The series fell off by the time they introduced the mechanic where you can get off your board (THUG and anything beyond that).
Anyone who says walking in THPS adds depth to the gameplay, is a dumbass scrub. The walking mechanic was implemented to help people in the situation where they lose speed and cannot continue their line; none of the pro players use it.
