Since the hitbox buff on j.H, I’m pretty sure they have near identical range. j.M is for when you want to go for double or triple overheads usually.
Oerba, you forgot to mention Morrigan’s absurdly small crouching hurtbox, and the fact that her c.L has almost no effect on the size of that hurtbox.

Opinons on how to deal with Hawkeye + Missles? I feel like he can kinda prevent Morrigan from starting her Soul Fist stuff because his projectiles are just faster and out prioritize hers (piercing bolt). Should I just deal with him with my point character?
Yeah if Hawkeye is on point you just need a character that can get to him before his shit starts. Preferably someone with faster movement or better anti projectile options than Morrigan. Anybody who can flood the screen nearly as well as Morrigan can be problematic for her so you just have to take that into account.
That’s also why I’m not a big fan of point Morrigan because it makes more sense to battery up with someone who has faster movement and a better reset game like Magneto. It also works to have someone who can also flood the screen but has more anti screen flood options like Viper. Point Morrigan arguably has the best start of round options in the game other than Wolverine, but it keeps you from making your team as cheap as possible since harmonizer and shadow blade assist are really cheap with most of the top tiers abusing them. Plus it benefits Morrigan since especially harmonizer assist allows her to be a battery and user for the team at the same time (which is how Capcom designed her and why astral vision builds meter).
Could someone give me some tips vs Hawkeye? I feel like Hawkeye rapes Morrigan. His zoning is way faster than hers and piercing bolt eats everything. Iunno I feel like its a tough matchup, but maybe its just my team.
Right now I run Zero / Morrigan / Dante, but ive been soul searching for a third character and cant figure out who to use. Morrigan / Dante are staying.
Safely activate AV as soon as possible. He needs to be in blockstun or knockdown for you to be able to safely go into it due to gimlet. He can easily deal with the soul fists in front of him but has nothing to say to the one behind him. It’s still going to be difficult to beat him with no missles or vajra to keep him in place. If you can, try to take him out with zero.
F.Champ didn’t really get shit done with Hawkeye vs. Chris G’s Morri at Final Round, so that would probably be a good match to watch.
Question, Is morrigan really a rush down character or a zoning character? I hear people saying that her bullet hell is broken but looking at her normals I see rushdown written all over the place.
She can do both, but zoning via Soul Fist + fly/unfly cancels + Astral Vision is her better option at the moment.
I see but if I use her should I be switching from zoning to rushdown constantly?
You need to use whichever allows you to control the pace of the match. So yeah, you do need to be ready to switch on the fly, and you should also look at learning how to convert soul fist hits into more damage as well.
If you watch the evolution of ChrisG’s game, he started out with an extremely zoning heavy team with Soul Fist flooding. Then he slowly started throwing fireballs and covering his own approaches, and now hes outright pinning other players against the wall and not allowing them out. I was astonished at the pressure he was able to apply on Champ at FR. It really is an interesting thing to see how his playstyle has slowly changed.
So what moves should I be abusing and starting combos off of?
Shadowblade, aerial Soul Fist, and her air normals. Learn to convert off of Shadowblade M and H (I only use H at start of round and other specific situations), all of her air Soul Fists (Not hard, usually just ADF and j.S), and her air normals like j.L and j.M. If you’re using Doom, she has a lot of easy ways to convert off of missiles, for instance you can do an extended ground chain like s.LMHMH, or you can do a combo like s.LM c.H f.H j.MHS, missiles hit during the j.MHS, jump back up and do j.H Soul Fist L xx Fly etc.
I read some of you guys were asking about a TAC bait from Morrigan. Some time ago I came up with one with j.H delay L soulfist. I can make a small vid if you want.
Also, I’m having troubles vs this dude who uses Wolverine + Ironfst rising fang assist. He usually goes for grab + assist or st.L + assist at the start and I don’t know how to avoid it.

As for the 2nd part its funny you mention that because I was put into losers last big tournament I was at by someone who used Wolverine/Dormammu/Rising Fang.
Wolverine is a tough match for morrigan. Berserker slash is the hardest thing to deal with because it crosses up your inputs, so you need to have a really active zoning style. You need to stay out of berserker slash ranges where he can cross up your inputs. Always make sure you are plink dashing away from him, preferably behind the cover of a soul fist. You cant stay on one side of the screen against him. Also you cant use dashes you have to commit to like her ground dashes or her air backdash.
Once you have a full screen advantage or astral vision on, naturally she dominates him but as usual the first five seconds are the hardest to navigate vs wolverine. Shadow blade H is probably very good against him defensively but I havent really tested it.
Nice vid. The example I mentioned is a bit different. Instead of delaying soul fist L, try soul drain. Soul drains properties when it hits is the same as soul fist L and you dont delay. Just j.H into Soul Drain. Try it out.
I think you said that you use Shadowblade H at start of round Ninja, I’ve been using that and it’s damn good. Diveman, try using Shadowblade, or if that isn’t doing the trick (I don’t see why not though), you can maybe try doing Shadow Servant right away.
I also have matches of me doing it sometimes but no one noticed me posting it twice lol. I’ve done it at the start of a round and confirmed it into a full combo which can kill with the right DHC.
