Morrigan is the most technical character I’ve picked up and god damn it she hard to use on a ps3 dual shock. Does anyone else use a dual shock?
I made the switch to stick when Ultimate came out because my thumb started to hurt lol. But it’s certainly possible, JRosa does it.
If you are going to try to learn Morrigan on pad, I would suggest using the analog stick for the motions if you aren’t already. You will kill your thumb and the dpad otherwise.
I used to play on a ps3 pad but went to a ps1 nondualshock pad. The pad is easier on the fingers and more responsive.
Yeah PS1 pads aren’t as clunky at least.
Starting to use those H shadow blades more in the neutral like Chrisis recommended. I find they have potential to basically give Morrigan a Shield skills. Defensive shadow blades are great at exposing badly timed tri jumps and other unsafe approaches just like mashing shield skills is. As a former taskmaster player it felt pretty similar. Of course the difference is shadow blades require a pretty accurate DP motion so you have to gauge whether the situation truly calls for it or not. Dont wanna mess up a DP motion and get her forward dash or something.

Shadowblade H…You mentioning H instead of M has (potentially) enlightened me. If I use H, If they block I can get to a height where they (Vergil) can’t swing and hit me, whereas M doesn’t get me high enough…They both confirm into the same combo…I can call assist too with Shadowblade H. MY GOD, I’VE BEEN DOING EVERYTHING WRONG! Goodbye Shadowblade M, hardly knew ye.
I’ve never had any real success with Shadow Blade M or H outside of block pressure, and I usually only use L in the beginning of combos. I’ll have to try it out some more.
What are you guys doing to confirm off M/H Shadow Blades? I’ve never managed to convert H into anything significant.

To convert off of M, I used to do:
Shadowblade M xx Fly j.S s.M f.H j.MMH Soul Fist H xx Fly ADD Soul Fist L xx unfly etc.
The combo I use now which works with both M and H is:
Shadowblade M/H xx Fly Soul Fist L ADF HS land f.M (Doubt you can use f.M if you start with Shadowblade H, I typically don’t use f.M anyway) Shadowblade M xx Fly Soul Fist L ADF HS etc.
You have to delay the ADF if you decide to use Shadowblade H.
Why is it so easy for me to OS Tech with Shadow Blade H at the start of the round but so hard with Vector Drain H? =/
Not sure if this does more damage or not, but this is what im using for shadowblade confirms. it works off of both M and H Shadowblade.
M/H Shadowblade xx Fly > j.H xx L Soul Fist xx Unfly > ADF j.MH > land > cr.MH, f+H > JC j.MMH xx H Soul Fist xx Fly > ADDF j.H xx L Soul Fist xx Unfly > Launch > j.MMH xx H Shadowblade xx Fly > (j.S If I want a AV setup, or just cancel the M/H Shadowblade into Finishing Shower > TAC If I want the damage)

What to do on incoming with Morrigan other meaty airstring into soul fist?
Make them block missiles or other lockdown assist and do stuff with AV. AV has natural push block negating properties.
Somewhat ambiguous cross up setup:
jump, soul fist L, fly, call rapid slash, move up forward or air dash up, air dash down S, then convert with a standard air conversion.
If astral is still up you can superjump up and soul drain, fly, and go crazy on down air plink dashes for a crossup on soul drains.
STARS and DevilJin, what are you guys doing with Morrigan/Dante? I’m considering picking up that shell but I’m having trouble seeing the kinkiness.

That being said UFGT is around the corner and I’m going to it, I wanna play against some Morrigan players! I hope some of you guys are going, because if so I’ll be tracking you all down for some matches.

when i do shadow blade H to start a combo or do an anti air (or Crossover Counter in) a lot of the times the opponent is popped too high up for me to hit with anything
