I’m a little confused, do you mean like LMH xx Fly xx SF unfly j.S? j.S cancels fly, so there’s no need to unfly before it. As for how much hitstun Soul Fist has, I don’t really know how to put it. The relaunch BnB and non-relaunch BnB both have a total of 4 Soul Fists in them, with no assist. In the corner I think you can get 5 Soul Fists.
LM xx fly xx SF xx j.S LMH f.H a.MMH xx SF xx s.S a.MMH xx SF xx fly ADD HS then whatever, maybe Shadow Servant into Chaotic Flame if I decide it’s safe making Dorm my straight up second and am ballsy enough to start him out without screen control.
Also, some of the stuff Chris G does confuses me. I feel like he can get three SFs out rapid fire when he’s low to the ground. Blows my mind.
You can get alot more SFs in the corner. I get a minimum of 6 SF. The max damage should have 9. 10 is kinda hard to squeeze in.
Whaaaat, is this with or without AV? Either way…may I have the combo notation for the max dmg one please?:3
its without AV. Its gonna be hard to notate because i do combos by sight rather than following a set thing. Characters have different fall speeds so following one combo wont work as well so I eyeball it lol. Theres a video thats similar to what do so let me post that. Gonna edit post when i get it.
EDIT: found vid. Here ya go
So how do we deal with opponents violently pushblocking? And how do you follow up that fly in the middle of a standing magic series to cancel her normals and make her safe?
Get right in front of them by doing Morrigan’s wave dash and then go low with s. :L:
Her wavedash is done by jumping forward and cancelling her air dash down forward with a shell kick.
Morrigan is always safe. s.H is something like +11 on block, and then you can also cancel into Flight->unfly, Soul Fist, or Shadow Blade M in block strings. She is only ever not safe when using j.S on incoming from too high or when you have an input error.
You always just fly -> j.S during a blockstring, but your blocked magic series pushes your opponent away enough that j.S can whiff. So if you want to go for the j.S overhead, fly-cancel your blockstring early (even as soon as when you touch ground sometimes).
Any reason why a fly xx s.H xx SF isn’t superior to fly xx j.S?
j.H has a 10 frame startup, which is twice j.S’s.
hey guys, I’ve been wanting to learn morrigan for a while and recently I started using her in casuals, my question is basically, what’s exactly her goal in a match? because we all know what Chris G does, with Astral vision and missiles etc, but I first want to learn her fundamentals and playstyle, but I’m not really sure what I should be doing with her ATM (before moving into Soul fist bullet hell), so I take she’s not a 100% zoner but more like an hybrid, though I haven’t really seen many Morrigans rushing down and doing mixups so idk.
any help will be appreciated
SHELL KICK is a great tool for opening up opponents and moving around in general with her. Her sL is a low attack so you’re up close against an opponent and they dont pushblock, its a perfect situation to throw a couple sL and then fly cancel into instant overhead (air S). And to be honest with you, I think learning the flight cancel soul fists is KEY to playing a great morrigan. Being able to throw two soul fists out on the screen is a great keepaway tool and great to cover your rushdown (air soul fist xx flight xx airdash down-forward S). Not only that but being able to input flight cancel xx block during flash animation makes her safe to block a lot of supers. I personally think playing the Morrigan/Doom duo is a great way to maximize your Morrigan play. Hidden Missiles is such a great assist and keeps Morrigan safe when missiles are out and pretty much lets you try some creative stuff with her.
My questions for the Morrigan players here is this…
-
How do you play the Wesker match up? I remember Yipes saying Wesker is free against Morrigan but I have a bit of trouble fighting him. I have a friend who likes to superjump gunshot and it kinda prevents me from starting Missiles/Soul Fists.

I’m having trouble with the Chris G bnb where he flight cancels H soul fist into airdash down-forward H xx Soul Fist. Is there a certain timing to it? I can get it in the corner like 25% of the time and I have like no luck when it comes to midscreen. I’m assuming that both Soul Fists are the H version too. Any tips are definitely appreciated.

Don’t get too caught up in Soul Fists, take your time. If he’s SJ gunshot, SJ with him and use Soul Fist H and then Soul Fist M. If Soul Fist H misses, he’ll teleport into Soul Fist M. Regardless if he gets hit or blocks, if either one happens it’ll give you time to do something, or it’ll make him doubt himself if he jumps again.

You have to say what you’re messing up with. Are they too far away? Are they falling out? Are you messing up the cancels? Since when did people start calling it the ChrisG BnB?
The “Chris G bnb” is only half the real combo, that’s the best part. One of these centuries, I’ll hit the entire thing.
I did it for the first time this last weekend. It was a “fuck yeah!” moment for me. In the corner…
I lol’ed seeing ChrisG BnB. Like really guy?
so what’s the full BnB?
also, how does the Chris matchup go? because he has the magnum which hurts like hell and his combos are also pretty damaging.
Chris has no projectiles that can hit Morrigan at SJ height. SJ and use varied Soul Fists. With AV this matchup is pretty easy, but if you don’t have enough meter for that you can move forward with Soul Fists and dashes. Try to keep above normal jump height by jumping, ADUF and then fly to avoid getting hit by magnum shot. As long as Chris doesn’t hit you with a magnum shot, he’s an annoyance at most. Oh yeah, always gotta be careful if Chris is inching his way up. Try to always be on the move away from him if you’re zoning; if you get caught in the corner incendiary grenades will keep you trapped. And maybe just a little gimmick to watch for, if he goes prone just jump, move forward a tad and Soul Fist M.
My bad, bro. I honestly watch all his matches since I’m trying to learn the Morrigan/Vergil/Doom team. I figure more people would know what bnb I was talking about rather than explaining the notations.
Well, midscreen they tend to fall out before I hit the H after the air dash. In the corner, I’m having a harder time landing the soul fist loop on the ground after the air soul fist loop.
Hm, could just be you’re not inputting things quickly enough. Is the combo you’re doing L c.MH f. H j.MMH SF H xx Fly xx ADD H SF L?
