Yeah, you’re either playing Morrigan on point with assists to help her or using her meter assist to feed another point character for big damage combos/more options (ie Clakey D’s team)
Sorry to ask this question without checking all the pages, but 43 is alot to look through for a combo that may not even work.
Either way what i am wondering is has anyone experimented with flight cancel shadow blade loops?
What I was thinking was something like s.L s.M. s.H s.S j.M j.M j.H Shadow Blade(Flight cancel) j.M. j.H Shadow Blade (Flight cancel) then repeat. Not positive if it will work I have tried it up to the j.M. j.H after the first shadow blade, just haven’t spent alot of time messing with it yet. Don’t even know if it would be worth while, but something to think about. Like I said sorry if this has already been mentioned just kinda curious about it.
i tested something like this. i dont think you can flight cancel the second shadow blade, reason being is you’re allowed only 1 flight input per jump
also, who’s clakeyd’s team? i followed him as an ibuki player in sf4
Really? With Morrigan and Trish?
Tron/X-23/Morrigan is Clakey’s team
Is it possible to do her corner combos midscreen with clone on?
Yes. the timing is a little weird since the clone will sometimes hit him higher than normal.
Ok…so sj. cancelled into df airdash actually works for getting in and maintining pressure, shes so close to the ground that it works just like a triangle dash and she doesnt fly back upwards in a U-shape. And here I was crying that Morrigan just wasnt giving me the results I needed because she wasnt rushdown enough. Now I might be able to make something work with her.
I have two questions::
Now is it just me or can she do two airdashes in the air? Im not sure how im doing it but it seems like I’ve done it before mashing my heart out.
Secondly, after her astral vision how do you flood the screen with fireballs? I seen it in a match video I had no idea how do to it, it seemed like Morrigan was shooting fireballs faster than her recovery usually lets her so there were a lot of fireballs on screen a once and they were mirrored since she did the duplicate.
She can only do one air dash in the air, but because her ground dash puts her in the air, she can cancel into another air dash once she’s high enough since the first one started from the ground.
She can cancel the recovery frames of her special moves by going into flight mode, it’s her unique feature. So you simply have to do fireball, fly, fireball, unfly. It takes a bit of practice since the input isn’t very easy, but it’s worth it if you plan to use her extensively.
Oh is that what it is? Gonna fire up the old PS3 once Pulp Fiction goes off.
Ive been watching vids and researching here and stuff. but I was just wondering, when you activate X factor, and you astral vision, does the repeating hits of cr. light become an infinite? because i know you can just do standing heavy over and over but that only loops 5 times before you can block.
No it does not become an infinite.
Anyone got links to videos exampling Morrigans Astral Vision projectile flight cancel shenanigans? I saw a few videos a while back with some pretty nasty stuff but can’t find where they are…
Is there a certain BNB to do from the DHC glitch? I usually do f.h j.m j.h j.s st.m f.m s sj j.b j.c shadowblade (m) fly j.c shadowblade (h).
Getting some bloodwork done, will annotate better when I get home.
Is there a longer BnB for Morrigan in Astral Vision? (I’m sure there is) So far I’ve been hitconfirming (GOD I love her c.:l:) into a regular BnB and just enjoying the extra damage provided by the clone…
Oh yeah, and I didn’t realize how salty Morrigan could make people, I played a dude in Ranked yesterday who had a mic and he ended up raging about her f. of all things lol
f.M puts them in crazy hit stun lol…but no one really uses f.M right now…
Morrigan is easily one of the most underrated, solid characters in the game. She can do basically everything. Her trijump is actually one of the better ones in the game. Trijump + j.S is amazing. Yeah it scales your combo a bit, but it beats out armored moves and her j.S comes out really fast. She can zone / keep away relatively decently. She has good approach options:
- SJ > L soul Fist xx Fly > M Soul Fist xx unfly > dash down forward + attack
-Trijump
L Soul Fist xx Fly > H soul Fist xx unfly > Trijump
and shes just a really solid character overall. Sure, her damage output could be upped a little bit, but its not a huge deal because she can mixup pretty well with trijumps, Astral Vision, and by cancelling into fly midcombo for and instant overhead.
See im the type of guy who just plays characters I love, and I MAKE them work for me. Ive been sitting here since day 1 marvel tying to narrow down my character choices or my main team because there are so many characters in this game that I truly love. Not because they are OP (Im looking at you, you fucking Sentinel whores. Suck a dick.), not because everyone is jumping on the _______ bandwagon (ill just fill that blank with “JWong”, and now im looking at you, Wolverine ****.) and not because I care that a character is widely used or not. I have ALWAYS loved Morrigan. Same goes for Zero, Jill Valentine, Iron Man, X-23 (yeah i actually read the comics lol), and a few others (please god put Psylocke in this game. )
Ive FINALLY narrowed it down to these characters for my main team:
- Morrigan
- Jill Valentine
- Iron Man
If Psylocke becomes a DLC character, Im going to have to give Iron Man the boot though. I cant pass up the opportunity of having my 3 most favorite characters of all time on a single team.
Im also working on a keep away team, but that still needs a LOT of work…i havent even decided which characters i want on the team yet… but I know i want MODOK for sure. Dude is just a huge troll <3
anyways, sorry for the rant…i kinda just went off on a tangent. I guess that was my meet and greet to the Morrigan community. Ive been a long time morrigan player. Used her in MvC2 (along with Jill and Psylocke <3)
bye all <3

^too bad Sentinel assist actually makes Morrigan pretty damn godlike lol. Sometimes a character is just too good not to put on your team.
^ Sentinel drones make most of the roster pretty damn good. Its not really Sentinel making them good, its just that Sent is good. Ammy cold shot works exactly the same as Sent drones (except is scales more, big deal), but no one mentions Ammy making Morrigan godlike.
Sent is just retarded. and no im not salty cause I get beat by sent because I win vs Sent more than I lose vs him. Morrigan can turn sent into a tin can. I dont like sent because hes so damn easy mode in MvC3…MvC2 at least he had some cool fly / unfly stuff…here its not that hard at all…
^ Sent drones has the exact same trajectory has Morrigan’s forward dash which makes it really good for extra pressure. And since it is slower than Ammy’s cold star, it gives you more time for mixups opportunitys.
Ammy’s cold star is still pretty good, but I think the drones are better.
And Sent is pretty fun to use, imo.
Is j.:s: her best anti-air attack against opponents who like to jump a lot? I notice she can combo her j.:s: into st.:l: or cr.:l: on an airborne opponent while she’s descending. Seems like it might be useful since j.:s: stuffs most other attacks.
Sent drones are also awesome for adding even more fireballs onto her screen-filling soul fists in astral vision mode. And it helps that they’re slow. I just don’t like using Sent though lol
