Like Noodlez said definitely use Dark Harmonizer. All that meter gain is incredible. I use deadpool too (though i’m thinking of switching to iron man), although I use quick work since it’s a low hit and mix it up with morrigan’s overheads.
I think it will be a while before we see the likes of Morrigan, X-23, and Wesker. A lot of their stuff is still being figured out since they’re not as intuitive as the other chars, they’ll probably require a lot more work.
ok, ive been using it for a while now, works great especially with deadpool. but thought I should maybe switch, I like the meter gain only problems Ive had is morrigan getting hit and me forgetting to use the assist.
every tournament ive been to so far I have been the only joe and morrigan player…really weird.
Ok I will, thanks guys.
Deadpools Katana-Rama! has a lot of synergy with Joe, mostly because you can magic series to slow, or a relaunch to air joe to super…this is just scratching the surface too (im not very good with combos yet)
Not nearly enough Morrigan and Winter Brawl, sad face.
sad Flashmetroid or Zucco couldn’t make it. Atleast Justin left players with a impression and hopefully they will get out of their comfort zones and play other characters.
Just starting with her, any suggestions?
And why do you medium air srk? been using fierce into shower fine =/
Get the hang of using your flight mode and fly/unfly canceling your fireballs, it’ll help your game a bunch. Also, get used to her movement options as it may take awhile to get used to not having a traditional ground dash.
The reason you use medium srk is because it is better to extend combos and hypers hit more consistently. Many of her loops use the mid version of shadow blade iirc.
Thanks for the reply. Been doing fireball fly air fireball and sj, air fireball, fly, air fireball, air fireball. Are the others I should be doing?
Oh ok, makes sense. Thanks again.
started using morrigan/tron/x-23 recently. anyone got any advice starting off on morrigan? I’m practicing for a WCG event in New York that’s coming up late march.
Well I dunno how it pans out for your team but when I start with Morrigan I either do cr.L or jumping S + Iron man Repulsor Blast assist.
I’d say depending on the team you’re fighting it will change if you want to create space early or get straight in dat azz. Gotta sort of feel it out for yourself
On block, I go to 6H and jump cancel it. Then either call an assist (to cover while Morrigan is up in the air) and continue pressure by doing another dive/low or get out.
I was the only one I saw playing her (horribly).
So, as a Morrigan player, I can’t answer this question.
How can each character escape from Morrigan’s Level 3 X-Factor/Astral Vision fireball spam?
I ask because I do it a lot against other people, and it seems so easy to hit that my friends are constantly asking me how they can get out of it.
This is what I mean.
(person is K.O.'d), Astral Vision, Level 3 XFC, :qcf:+:l: x forever, occasional :qcf:+:m:, occasional XX (:qcb:+:s: :qcf:+:h: :qcb:+:s:)
For starters, it seems that whoever comes into this stream of fireballs is juggled with 8 hits or so. That’s like 80% of Zero’s health. What’s sad is that I’ve also chipped an incoming Sentinel because he ate the 8 or so hits, then got pelted by more chip damage. Then for every fireball hit or blocked, Morrigan gains meter so she will obviously have enough meter to continue this madness for the whole 20 seconds.
I know you can fly away (super jumping doesn’t do much other than temporarily avoid the barrage, and of course repositioning the astral vision closer or further), but with :qcf:+:h: and the fact that you can’t exactly block while flying hurts, and so does the fact that Morrigan can also fly and give chase. But I suppose that’s a better choice than landing on 8 fireballs juggling you.
X-Factor back to avoid the chip.
Or Level 3 Hyper as soon as Morrigan throws a Fist. Most level 3’s have shit load of invicibility frames.

1st combo in the lab with morrigan, I like the meter building assist I thought I would try some stuff out.
Did a little testing in training mode earlier and found out that Morrigan actually has the shortest crouch stance in the game, slightly lower than Ammy’s. She’s the only character who can duck under Shield Slash M consistently, and Ammy is the only other character who can duck under some of the beams that Morrigan can.
Most impotantly she can duck under DAT PIPE
not sure if this was posted but anyone else been flight cancelling her ground blockstrings into instant S (drill)?
e.g. say you rushdown and cr.L, cr. M, st.H is blocked you can immediately flight cancel + S for an instant overhead, at worst, you get to continue pressure
Just wanted to let you guys know about my breast cancer awareness team. Got pink morrigan, pink dog, and red/pink/black sentinel. Enjoying the team for a lot of reasons.
I actually made a combo with H into fly/unfly S because H gives such dumb advantage on hit about a week abo haha. Shit is silly
