That was an impressive Guy player.
I wouldn’t say so, I’ve only seen the vs. DeeJay match and while the Guy was playing safe he made a few mistakes that I can’t overlook. Guy = Position over damage. The player neglected that concept and failed to use proper punish and corner pressure options. DJ hould have been in the corner the whole match. Secondly opting to do ultra after focus not my thing for guy, I’d send them into the corner. and the chain combo at 106 should have been the throw option for that godly mixup since he had no meter for the hozanto or ex tatsu finish. Finally I never saw a hit-comfirm to target combo. That is a key part of Guy’s game.
Guy is more than able to get in on Dj, it’s not the normal shoto fight where you risk taking 30-50% if you move in wrong. He can zone well enough to take damage over mixup and there was literally nothing wrong with the way he played at all.

Tsukimiya (Guy) played well but DAM, Haneyama (Cody) was beasty in that video.
Yeah, Tsukimiya got downloaded pretty bad. I think I actually lost count of how many times he got crumpled for spamming c.hk too much. Not to mention all the times he got crumpled for canceling bushin flip too early.
Still good matches though.
Heh, yeah, nothing pro going on here. Just wanted to show that EX grab since I haven’t seen it yet. Still trying to figure things out, but I’ll save that for the Q&A thread.
I didn’t mean it to sound like you were really bad or that I was better or anything, was just making an observation from personal experience. I can’t count how many times I’ve been focus attacked or thrown after a slide and I am still trying to get the range on it down. It’s a really good move, but it’s so easily punishable and you have to break the trap that’s so easy to get caught up in while playing Guy footsies.
If you keep getting your slide focused save your meter, deliberately slide into the focus and supercancel it.
Then laugh as over half their health drains haha.

Lol, I couldn’t for the life of me find the post that I was referring to, then i went way back to beginning of the thread w/ the vids before super was released…hence the reason why I thought it was decent. At the time, there were a plethora of poor players utilizing guy uploading their shoddy videos to youtube, it was nice (at the time) to see one that didn’t downright suck, and was actually playing the game competently (while using Guy). Dunno why you quoting that moot stuff =P

That looks like it could work as AA just fine. If it’s consistent, then people will bait it with an empty jump, which will cause Guy to run right under them.
