The Power of Bushin...Guy Video Thread!

I don?t post much either but I learnt a great deal from the guy forum
For you to come here to the guy forum and say ?people don?t know crap? is a slap to the face to many members who put a lot of hard work on match up?s, strats etc. its unfair for you judge a whole forum and disrespect the members and say “No harm intended” when harm is done, this type of attitude is not needed

?People talk/theorize too much? At the end of the day forums are made of opinions that?s the whole point if u don?t agree its fine but don?t disrespect the place where many of members put in their hard work and passion.

Please Don?t take what I said as an attack but that?s how I felt reading your post

I think TChamp is talking about SRK as a whole which I definitely agree with. As for the Guy forum, it’s my favorite, not just because I main Guy, but cause it’s very organized and there’s a lot of useful information and a lot of helpful members. It’s the only reason I participate in SRK.

I’m pretty sure TChamp is talking about the Guy forums and not just SRK in general.

This ^^

But if you know so much why don’t you fill us in Champ ? Spread your wisdom. Not " I hate this place please watch my videos"

Honest truth. Even if he starts talking about high level stuff, half of the people will ignore him and the other half will start arguing with him.

^^ thank you for starting your post with “honest truth” instead of “REAL TALK.”

With the stuff that I think I can incorporate into my game or with anything I think is questionable/weird, I have pretty much the same approach. Try it out in training and/or ask some WAY more knowledgeable tourney players about it. Usually works out well for me…and I’ll DEFINITELY encourage the man to post if he’s got useful info.

Why would anyone ignore him ? This is a pretty nice bunch of Guys here, I haven’t seen to many flamewars happen and if he had something good to say it would be discussed cause its a forum not a opinion pusher, but meh!!!

Hi all, been lurking for some time, don’t post at all around here but i visit SRK, regularly ( at least 3 or 4 times a week).

I’m from Portugal, we have a very small comunity around here but we try to the best we can.

I picked up Bison in the end of Sf4 and thats been my main for a while now, but ever since SSf4, came around i been toying with guy on and off, since i used to play him back in A2 and A3. Recently i decided to give him a real go.

I’m love playing him but some matchups really hurt me, specially Boxer ( Probably the best player around here plays him ), anyways getting dow to business, there was a tournament 3 or so weeks ago and i played Guy almost through out all of it, in the end against that Balrog player i ended up going back to Bison wich didnt do me any good, since my Bison wasnt even warmed up, and got bodied :stuck_out_tongue: excuses excuses i know.

After seing the vids i realized i should have just stick to guy wich i was faring a lot better with.

Anyways, i’m looking for tips and pointers on how to improve so i’m gonna put a couple of vids here maybe someone could help my game out.

I saw some of them, but he didn’t do too well against arturos sim. Also with the cammy match, it seemed odd how he was going under the cannon strikes with the slide. I dunno if the timing is on purpose, but I might try that.

Heh logged on here to post a link to the vids and ask for feedback since i have a way of getting vids on youtube now, but miikey not only uploaded them for me he posted here for me, you’re the man miikey. In other news guy vs. dhalsim goes Guy jumps > sim slides > guy gets thrown, and should guy force and 50/50 situations, sim has a 3 frame normal. Sabin does a exemplary job of pointing out how bad this match up is and just how good you have to be to win it. either way i posted it to get some feedback how to fight that =( all i really got is blow up sim on wake up as much as possible.

Damn B, TS Sabin’s Sim looked like a complete pain in the ass ;;. I feel for you >>. If I may ask, why didn’t you Izuna drop Sim out of his teleports when you were in the air and jump back fierce kicked him? I TRY to remember to Izuna drop a teleporting Sim as much as possible, free 170ish damage and untechable knockdown baby. Also B, do you have any Anti Honda Tech that you would like to share?

That replay is decently old before i actively used izuna TBH, but at the same time i don’t fight many sim’s who play that particular way not being afraid to fight in close which is why i had it uploaded.

For honda, i can’t offer things that haven’t already been said, for me i don’t fight the character i fight the player, i try to make a psych profile of the guy I’m playing against and use that to choose what I do offense-wise, for example el fuertes, on wake up they tend not to actually block but rather ex-run or guacamole throw(or when you really really annoy them, wakeup ultra) so i either c. short into a combo or just throw them, i never tick throw fuerte’s on wakeup because i know if the throw is going to work, they aren’t going to tech it they’re gonna be going for the ex. run so walking next to them and just U2ing them on their wakeup actually works quite often. for general honda players stuffing out headbutts with staggered elbows will at best win you one round until they learn, then you’re just getting yourself headbutted, or sumo slammed(damn thing beats everything when timed well). without turning this into a matchup thread i follow this general guide line against hondas on their wakeup: Staggered elbow until sumo slam happy > safe jump elbows sit still to let them go over me then punish > flat out attacking them with c.shorts on wakeup//tick throws > randomly choose between the three once they catch on to my options. I don’t have any tips to get in against honda aside from bait things with the elbow, for block strings i recommend mp. bushin flips since hondas like to jump back with pressure and it’s(almost) completely safe from punishment. one last tip against honda is cross up splashes don’t give enough block stun usually to keep a block string going and hondas will virtually ALWAYS try to hit confirm a jab into hands(actually who am i kidding it’s always going into hands)//tick ochio so you can ALMOST always ex tatsu them out of it.

I want to be recorded in my current stage. ._. all teh vids of me are gradually old.

Good shit B.

I did notice that the sim was UNUSUALLY aggressive O.o. I’d expect that from a mad Abel user or Bison, ya know? That type of Sim looks kind of fun b/c Sim’s wakeup is lolwut. Imma have to jump into one of your endless sessions so I can fight these people…when I get good at this game ;_;

Nice Guy Videos man keep them comming

Ditto…Keep those vids coming!!!

None of those opponents knew how to fight Guy. He got away with alot of bs.

That’s the thing with Guy, especially playing him online. You think you’re getting good and learning the matchups, and all of a sudden some Ryu/Honda/Guile plays in a way that makes you look like you just picked up playing Guy.

I think the varied skill levels in ranked matches are against you in the end, even if you beat your opponents with ease - it just means you’re gonna be less prepared for someone who actually knows how to play against Guy.

Personally I’d like to just play matches with experienced opponents, but I don’t often find such casual sessions online.
