Your Guy is pretty solid, and I like how you use cr lk a lot but instead of doing cr lk x3 to tatsu, you should mix in Bushin Chain and Target Combo, During run/stop mix it up with Stop/Overhead, LP hozanto, Bushin flip, Throw, or instead of doing target combo go for st mp~lp hozanto. Also usage of cl st mp runstop would be a good thing to condition yourself to use as well. If you land a counter hit with either cl st mp or cl hp and do run/stop you can connect Bushin chain or TC if they are crouching
Yo are you the same Half-Ro who was at Bar Fights (Grapevine, TX) not too long ago? If so, this footage and what I saw in Bar Fights is like two completely different people. I LOVE the way you straight bull dogged Abel into the corner, and there was one point where you plainly just walked up to Abel when your back was in the corner. I do that sometimes, but only when I stun someone >_>
Hahah! I am the same person, I think its just a Guy thing. Some days you are feeling it, other days you aren’t. I was down at bar fights just to see the community, maybe meet up with some folks to play with, not so much with the tournament itself. Thanks though

Those of you who don’t watch the Team Spooky stream probably should because it’s pretty great. However it seems like they’ve all but given up on Guy if this video is any indication:

Even Spooky (the commentator) was talking about how Sabin/Arturo “knows” all of Guy’s tricks. Doesn’t Guy have some ambiguous setups, though? Like the forward throw double jump setup? It’s just a 50/50 guess but that’s still something. I know Art is a phenomenal player but seriously. Does someone wanna explain just what Spooky’s mindset is? Have they written off Guy entirely?
I saw that too.Jug’s guy is quite good but you can see he hasnt put too much time into him.A character like Guy needs dedication to be usable at high level play,you can’t just pull him out as a surprise.
Thats kind of why I like Guy,as a 3rd strike fan I admired people who dedicated themselves to a character like Necro,Q or Hugo and it payed off.So with SSFIV I chose Guy and stuck with him because you can reap huge rewards if you get really good with him because his damage output is above average.

umm the views of spooky dont really reflect my views, spooky has written off guy but i already know i haven faced a real guy player yet in super. i havent written him off at all.
I have to agree. A fun character to mess around with but to be competitive takes dedication. And i’m a padninja too!
me too infact TC and FF are quite well suited for pad play. Dont need to plink, piano, double tap, 1 frame link etc with Guy. Aside from J Hk st HK st MP.
umm St HK into st mp is not a 1 frame link… however cr lk into TC would be a 1 frame. Guy doesnt have many. Shockingly TC and FF are easy to on pad but. in Alpha… good luck.
I get cr. lk x3 into TC with ease on pad. Then again I’ve been playing on pad since I was 11.

Since you’re here, what’re your thoughts on Guy? Blazeu25 played the shit out of him during the crack session stream, but besides him and Kreymore I haven’t seen a Guy on the TS stream. There are a lot of good Guy players out there (Kiryu, combofiend, D’Nyc3 etc) but sorta like you said, there aren’t any Guy players that are top-8 favorites at every tournament they go to.
