The whole point with the previous video is nothing to do with “Oh guy’s shit so no one could be daigo with him” it’s “That ryu didn’t seem to do things that most ryu’s will do, so taking that vid as a what to do might actually be dangerous”. I mean look at the difference in the matches. Guy stomps the ryu and comes extremely close with the guile everytime. The guy ryu matchup isn’t that slanted.
Anyway this vids a hell of a lot more useful, and against one of guy’s worse matchups. I’m curious if well timed bushin flips will wind up being a useful form of safe jump. Watching him use it to fly past Flash kicks and punish seemed pretty important. Probably worth looking into the distances at which you can likely do that, and still avoid the AA normals if the opponent doesn’t bite.
Its also interesting to see U2 as the guy’s choice in that matchup. Shame it wasn’t landed. I would’ve like to see how he managed that.

As far as that “attitude” goes… I don’t think anyone is seriously saying Guy can’t win. But if you watch Tsukimiya’s videos, you’ll see he struggles with a lot of the same issues we do. Guy has some fundamental design flaws that just aren’t present in stronger characters like Ryu and Guile. You have to work much harder for your wins with Guy than other characters, and this is frustrating.
I like his run-stop cancels off of mp-hp chain to get counter hits off of crouching HP…
As well as extremely satisfying when you DO win.

Question though…can Guy actually safe jump another Guy like that? I know EX Izuna will grab EX tatsu but characters with fast reversals is this still possible?
Alioune-at the end of the match you used cr. forward as an anti crossup. how effective is that? if it’s reliable and consistent… that’s a really friggin good answer for crossups. knockdown that leads to the following safejump. definitely learned a couple things. the run stop to counterhit cr. fierce, st. strong xx ex shoulder was really nice at the end of round 1.
You can safe jump against any character that doesn’t have a 3 frame startup invincible attack (pretty much shoto DPs and some supers), so yes you can safejump vs Guy.
