Nice sets. Lot of bushin slam getting landed which was kinda surprsing. I wonder if the akuma knew how many of those he could’ve just crouch blocked.
Also some really gutsy U2 setups. I’m kinda guessing you wouldn’t want to have to rely on those in a serious match.
Still it’d be cool if we could actually get his thoughts on the matches. I feel like every high level guy does several things really different. Lots of bushin flip in these matches whereas in others i’ll almost never see it, and instead see run mixup constantly. I can see it being a matchup thing since akuma likes the air, but i’m wondering if the approach needs more credit.
JR actually did crouch block many of those bushin flip throws; however, there were many times he was baited into blocking high, since Valle mixed it up with throws, overhead, and even the slide to stop the backdash. Also, he seemed to grab JR out of the air nearly every time they air-to-air’d; that shit is ridiculous, considering how good JR is (and Akuma as a character, for that matter) at shutting people down in the air.
The U2 setups with amazing, it seems to be an amazing bait/punish/reversal, and Valle applied it to each one of those situations with amazing success.
I think JR’s rush down style is the reason Valle was so effective with the bushin throws. When someone is being real aggressive jumping in a lot the throw has such nice range that you can pluck them out the air easily. Valle made real good use of the lp version which would grab JR out of s.hk after a couple of blocked jabs.
My experience has been after people start fearing the throw they tend to turtle. A well timed c.fp or dp will beat out flip attempts. Either way that was encouraging to see Valle handle JR with Guy. His combos aren’t really hard to do its a matter of learning safe ways to get in and work the BnBs.
Me vs Teez,
don’t mind my poor execution, I didn’t spend as much time in training mode as I should.

Just to let everyone know, there’s tons of more Guy matches and vids at the following channel.
You can check out the various matchups (200+ vids) and see what’s good study material. Also, if you feel you have an exceptional Guy and would like to showcase your skills or what not, get in touch with me via psn. I’ll be glad to upload any replay you prefer. (preferably nothing scrubby or nooby please. lol)
lol if anything, you made my Guy look bad with my poor execution and your 95% accuracy. you’re being too modest and we still got time to work on him since he’s new to the sf4 engine and different from alpha games.
…Thanks Nem for uploading the vids in super awesome HD quality lol Will be putting Guy vs ibuki next (best ibuki I played so far, coming soon to a theater near you)…
Valle’s use of ultra 2 was really impressive. It would be interesting seeing him use it in actual tournaments.
^agreed. valle, come here and bless us with some ultra 2 knowledge please
in one of the vids blocked EX hozanto to U2?really?
Very good Guy play by Valle. Starting to see U2 is more practical…
xbl match, thought it was worthy of a post… vs a pretty good abel, lucky he missed his set ups.

TU seems to beat command elbow
That was pretty situational. He wasn’t directly over Sagat’s head and elbows active frames had already passed.

Not sure if this was posted but good use of Ninja Slckle in the corner adds to more corner mix up and pressure.
Tsukimaya hasn’t been hit confirm a lot of his links. Also a daily doses of bushin flip is bad since Sagat can just reversal it.
I thought command elbow’s active hit box lasted all the way down. I heard there’s a really good Guy player named RH something but I can’t find any vids.
It does last all the way down.
Then Sagat was out of it’s hitbox range. It didn’t look out of the ordinary to me. I dont think it beats it clean though.
