The Power of Bushin...Guy Video Thread!

Kurage: Many thanks for posting this vid. Learnt a lot of stuff from it…

According to this list, the dude is the current top ranked Guy in Japan.

Edit: Bleah. Not worth it.

whether that is or isn’t daigo(yes i know about the whole gameinn thing, but the way he was playing just didn’t seem recognizable as daigo to me). that dudes guy is good. baiting well and punishing hard. nice untechable knockdowns to safejumps that were used effectively. he was on ryu’s ass that entire match. he executed really well except for maybe the ending of round 2. i don’t know if he wanted to flip grab after the fierce reset or if he knew ryu was gonna dp and wanted to empty flip, land, and combo.

either way. i hope to see more vids of this dude playing.

Matches from our two last tournaments on the weekend.

There’s a bunch more of me playing casuals a few days before the tournaments, but it’s me bullying people who don’t know how to fight Guy at all. :stuck_out_tongue: There are some things to watch around if you look though.

U flipping to larriet >.< :crybaby:

lol sorry, I am a bit trigger happy with flips.

You should also use qcb+mk as your ender to st.mp~st.hp combo. It does more damage and knocks them to the corner faster.

If you’re brave, you should go for his running low slide as an ender(qcf+k~mk), that way you can set up a cross up or bushin throw mix up since the knockdown can’t be tech’d.

Keep up the good work.

Ah, thanks a lot. I saw the data compiled in another thread, but I didn’t commit it to memory with myself being busy with work. I also haven’t experimented with doing slide as an ender, I was just trying to keep with what worked. I’ll definitely take your advice into consideration.

Well if he’s the current top ranker it’s possible he played diago before and there’s a reason he wasn’t using fireballs and c.mk. I mean no matter what i’d like to see more vids of this so we can all figure out why. I’m just hesitant to assume this is daigo at his best when we’re seeing dropped combo’s(which of course happen to everyone) and again that flip not being blocked(or the elbow not hitting counter hit) is strange.

From what i’ve felt so far in guy v ryu matches while guy has waaay too many ways past fireball, i don’t feel any are so strong except maybe EX run that a ryu should stop throwing like that. If i’m missing something i’d love to find out what that is.

Nice work Ken, you went beast mode in teams lol.

Did the Mr. Valle post on the Guy thread. Nerdgasmn ^o^
Agreed with him also.
Forward Hurricane kick from a Target Combo does the most dmg as a special cancel and send them full screen away. Also you can go for the untechable with run~shadowslide for a nefty crossup.
Yet in certain situation you should use hozonto to apply pressure because your at the right distance for a jump in. In other cases hurricane kick is great if they already distance toward the corner.

I think is looks flashier to

Also if u hit confirm c.jab you can do standing strong into hurricane kick and it hit all the cast.
Because TC misses on a lot of croucher >_<

First vid of me playing online, quality is…bad, but it was done on this digital camera I have. Hopefully I can find something better to record with.

How’s that for optimism? You’re welcome, fuckas.

Vid was already posted by kurage, and discussed on this page…

Its also NOT Daigo.

At least not during that game.

glances over each shoulder

*tip-toes out of thread"

And the conclusive evidence of this is?

Anyway, here’s a video where Daigo (and its not ambigious at all in this video… its 100% Daigo behind the joystick) loses to a Guy.

And please lets not have any bullshit about “Oh it must’ve been laggy” or “Guile isn’t Daigo’s main” or “He got lucky, he’ll never win again”. Daigo loses to a Guy player here using a character that he’s good at and which people generally agree is a hard match up for Guy. End of story.

“Oh I can’t win with Guy, so Guy must be a weak character, so Daigo can’t possibly lose to a Guy.” Come on now can we stop that attitude around here already?

Umm, where exactly is the video in that link? Sorry, I can’t seem to find it… I tried Google Chrome’s translator, but still not really helpin too much.
