The Power of Bushin...Guy Video Thread!

something you would never expect happen…

hahaha that sucks

Haha, I love how at the end after the Bushin Flip Throw Guy just jumps into the Yoga Catastrophe.

Yeah this can happen to a few people.

I rarely see Sims online though with Guy, I always run into Cody, Juri, Ibuki, Guile, Rog. Occasional Dan, Ken, Ryu, Dictator, Rarely a Thawk(THANKGOD) Rose, Makoto, Dudley.

Honestly what happened to the rest of the cast? I dont even see Sagat or Rufus.

Odd, all I see is Juri, Dudley, Ken, Ryu, Guile, and Blanka. Then if I’m lucky I’ll see one Makoto every 8-9 matches

My apologies if this is stupid but what is a fuzzy guard?

Not the best vids out there, but here are mine from my first tournament last night.

You were getting way to nervous it seems you dropped a lot of things and kept going for crossup which was a big mistake to do against Ryu, You gotta keep the distance somewhat close, so if he fireballs mk tatsu or mp hozanto on reaction, bait him to shoryu with elbow in the air, be wary of using when Ryu has ultra if had U1 selected, at the correct spacing and timing elbow can beat Shoryu though.

Against Juri I can’t stress this enough PRESSURE HER TIL NO END, You can punish all of her spinwheels (minus LK) with TC and you can stop them with Elbow, Don’t be afraid to block dive kick she its unsafe on block, You can punish it with BU or TC, or if you have a feeling she will do it TK Izuna or Bushin flip let her know she can be punished and Juri really cannot afford getting 200 damage. Every time she enters the air. Attempt to go to Safejump, Elbow does beat EX Spinwheel and at worst trade, if you have meter you can EX Izuna her out of it that will throw off a lot of her game especially on wake up, Just aim for punish and rushdown on Juri.

Thanks for advice, really appreciate it. Yeah I was extremely nervous playing, I was kinda getting comfortable when I played the Juri, but I just need to learn the match ups a bit more, I’ll keep all that in mind though.

Combofiend (guy) vs Onlinetony213 (seth, abel):
Combofiend (guy) vs Shizza (chun):

the matches with shizza… shizza showed some nice zoning in the last round of the video. i’m getting kinda worried though… shizza has found out something i’ve noticed about a weakness in guy’s bushin flip elbow. i’ve seen it against a ryu a while back and other characters that have good cr. shorts. i’m not sure which or how many characters can do it. but using cr. short again guy’s flip elbow will cause it to whiff and him to land right into the cr. short. i hope more people don’t find this out because instead of just getting hit out of the flip altogether with an anti air. this means he can be combo’d into big damage upon landing.

shizza was going for it a few times and the times he did attempt it… it worked. that’s bad for us guy players. another way that i saw online tony and shizza both avoid flip elbows was to just backdash. really simple way to avoid pressure against it. bushin flip elbow is looking worse and worse and it’s usefulness over time i think is going to diminish.

yep, shotos and several other chars with low profile attacks can get underneath it and punish sadly. bushin flip just doesnt really serve its purpose well in this game…

Chun is hard for almost anyone on a good day, She for sure is very good against no projectile characters, and her low profile/backdash/high priority normals and easy was into Ultra make her a deadly character to face.

ive been trying to do EX IZUNA tiger upper and shoryuken in practice mode but it seems it requires very strict timing for it to work.you gotta time the EX IZUNA right before it hits to pass through it and grab.ive been only able to do it a few times

Weird hitbox bug where the character will block a jumpin attack then duck to block low but their hitbox remains high as if they were standing so an immediate jump attack will still hit them.

This guy used some very nice bait with the elbow drop against Daigo…some nice mix-ups and combos as well… Quite interesting…

So the ryu threw next to 0 fireballs in that match. And almost no c.mk.

So the bad options:

 1. Someone else on daigo’s account(i hear he has a brother who plays sometimes)
 2. off game.
 3. lag game.

The good options:

 1. Better players have found decent ways to deal with these tools to the point that other better players don’t feel safe even throwing them randomly.

I’d love to see more matches along those lines. Even losses. The lack of high level guy stuff(or really any high level play in many of the forums at this time) is killer when trying to figure out how to mold my playstyle.

Edit: more i watch i feel this shouldn’t be too looked into. I mean the mixup was nice but i really can’t fathom why the ryu wouldn’t block the elbow at around :30.

The gamer tag is his friends not Daigos. really it all depends baiting someone to do something is one thing but the way he spaced it Ryu could only do a normal or EX shoruyken because a regular most likely would of lost out or missed.

Huh? I get the gamer tag thing, but i’m talking about the bushin flip at :30 seconds in. Guy just throws one out, and although the ryu maybe couldn’t have DP’d it, he sure as hell doesn’t seem to try. He just sits there, crouches, and takes an elbow to the head. I mean there’s absolutely no reason he shouldn’t have blocked it at that point, and later he drops quite a few combo’s…

I mean i’m not saying that there’s not a lot to be learned from this matchup(I for one was still doing the corner FF combo reset with c.LP instead of cl.FP. That’s a serious difference in damage.) but i wouldn’t use it as an example of what to expect in a high level Guy vs Ryu fight, which is what some people may take it as.

Easily best Guy I’ve seen, but then again its easy to make Guy look good against worse competition.
