There no defending that shit, never was any reasons to do so.
Especially with that awful timing, but soon the orange fuck will be in jail and we can move on.
I hope this 1776 stunt is getting discarded and laughed out loud to oblivion by researchers and historians!

Hence the fucking quotes around “discovered” you fucking numb nuts.
And yea the Vikings where here first but they didn’t do jack or fucking shit with it when they found it. They got here, poked around a second then left. It’s barely a footnote of worth mentioning in history.
Columbus should of been a footnote

“Celebrate” is probably a big word and the moral ambiguity of a lot of figures is not really lost, I think it’s more like there’s not a big public conversation on the ethics of historical figures in Europe as there is in America, at least of very old figures like Columbus.
Columbus in Italy is kinda well-appreciated because he was Italian and there’s an attempt at getting the merit for the discovery of America (although, as people have pointed out, it’s “discovery” only from the European point of view and the Vikings got there first, but it was only after Columbus’ voyages that the existence of America became widespread knowledge to European nations and that the continent was filled with free real estate and savages to Christianize for their own good, so…), but there’s no Columbus holiday because why there should be one anyway? If we really wanted a holiday dedicated to some 15th century guy there’s a million Renaissance artists to pick that actually lived and worked in Italy and have none of the bad PR attached to them.
The US has a strange fetishization of Columbus going on, which has probably something to do with it being a colonial nation and all.
He wasn’t though. He personally kickstarted European expansionism in the Americas, with all of its consequences.
Subpar is it?
Supar is being very generous.
Trumpo already the worst president before the pandemic. Then Trumpo had to go run pass potato.
And yet… 45% of the country wanted him for a second term.
You guys are fuckkkkkked.
Do you guys think the retarded PATRIOTS using Parler will realize the irony?
Thanks for spelling out to us how little you know about history and the impact his voyage had.
You can dislike him all you want, his accomplishment and it’s impact on the world at large is undeniable.
This is a very valid point. Even though it brought on a cluster of fuckery for generations, this western “expansion” changed the course of human history.
@Phantom_Miria I read there’s been a substantial increase in suicides in Italy. Hope you stay sane dude.
