More or less what I experience(d) as well. The stereotypes basically go something like:
1: Social sciences and humanities tend to be liberal
2: Business and economics is conservative or Libertarian
3: Engineering and Computer sciences are libertarian or centrist
4: Biology and Chem runs liberal to center
5: Criminal justice, Political Science, and law school could be literally anything
