btw, jokes aside.
before i get called a leftist for my views. i have voted for democrats in the past and also republicans. i have both conservative and liberal views on things. so dont assume im against republicanism. im not. im just vehemently opposed to the ego possessed trump. thats all. 4 years ago i considered him too self centered to the point it could be dangerous to the public. and as years passed by since 2016, with the more and more irrational and oblivious to the reality around him social media statements he spewed…it culminated into my fears coming true.

How is it that the POTUS shouldn’t be impeached for his rhetoric at the rally yet the common defense is “He made me do it”?

Great 60 Minutes interview with Georgia’s two election officials in charge of the election. They even go over the full video of what Rudy Giuliani claims was poll workers taking out secret ballots from under a table, with one official (forget his name off the top of my head) straight up saying Rudy Giuliani edited the video and lied about it. I’m really not sure how anyone can excuse Trump’s actions for any of these election fraud claims, especially now after people died during an assault on the US Capitol.

We need to work harder on deescalation to rehabilitate both extremes.

We see people on both the left and right agreeing on a non-employer healthcare option; but it gets lost in the din of angry voices from opposing sides.

I’m also very tired of seeing people half my age, enjoying the fruits of the system their parents benefit from decrying that same system. This is when my more anarchist almonds get activated.

We can do better, and we should do better. I’m no saint, because I’ve tried to reach out to people; but after multiple attempts to curb their rhetoric I just need to move on. At what point can you reach someone actively complaining about the cost of private health care, and try to counter that we waste more money on bullshXt wars while they’re distracted and crying about “muh welfare queens”.

(Take the following with a heavy tone of conversational sarcasm)

The HUR DUR VACCINE MICRA-CHIPS! is another one. If you were truly afraid of being tracked, you might want to shutter that facebag account and abandon smartphones, or even cell phones entirely. Stop to consider you’re assigned a number at birth. And if you want to not be a “cuck”, stop letting Uncle Sam take 35% of your paycheck every pay day. Stop wearing your seatbelt. Stop obeying traffic laws. Stop driving on them thar gubmint roads.

It’s the little things. . . I just want to get people thinking, and observe the cognitive dissonance in our lives.

(Decrease sarcasm intravenous drip)

It’s as if we’re incapable of social/cultural triage. Let’s not get mired in partisanship and keep our pitchforks at the ready for every opportunist politician just looking to coast into the sunset with an easy gig, and benefits most Americans would love to have access to.

U.S. Government Blacklists Xiaomi

The Trump administration is dubbing Xiaomi a national security threat in a fashion similar to how it did Huawei and ZTE. However, the “Communist Chinese military company” label has a greater effect to this particular tech manufacturer than the others.

Under the authority of Section 1237 of the National Defense Authorization Act, Xiaomi will not be able to acquire goods and services from U.S. vendors — many Chinese companies are already subject to this restriction being placed on the Commerce Department’s Entity List. One of the consequences that hasn’t been relevant as much up until now is the requirement for U.S. investors in the company to divest their holdings in the company.

but hey, maybe Biden will reverse that decision.

France, Germany, Mexico, Australia Join International Outcry over Censorship of Donald Trump

Germany

German chancellor Angela Merkel, whose pro-migration, anti-hate speech policies have little in common with President Trump or his movement, has nonetheless expressed concern at Silicon Valley’s unchecked power.

“The chancellor sees the complete closing down of the account of an elected president as problematic,” said Steffen Seibert, chief spokesman of the German chancellor, at a recent press conference in Berlin.

France

French political leaders also voiced their opposition. The finance minister of France, Bruno Le Maire, condemned what he called a “digital oligarchy,” calling it “one of the threats” to democracy.

“There needs to be public regulation of big online platforms,” said Le Maire.

And Clement Beaune, the French junior minister for European Affairs, told Bloomberg TV that he was “shocked” to see President Trump banned from Twitter, saying “this should be decided by citizens, not by a CEO.”

Mexico

The French and German leaders join president Andrés Manuel López Obrador of Mexico, an avowed socialist, who was the first world leader to condemn Facebook and Twitter for banning president Trump.

“I don’t like anybody being censored or taking away from the right to post a message on Twitter or Face(book). I don’t agree with that, I don’t accept that,” said López Obrador.

The Mexican president said tech companies were behaving like an “inquisition” to “manage public opinion.”

“This is really serious” he added.

The United Kingdom

The Prime Minister of Britain, Boris Johnson, was reportedly alarmed at Silicon Valley censorship even before Trump was permanently removed from Twitter and other platforms.

In November, the Daily Mail quoted a senior government source who said the Prime Minister was considering new laws against tech censorship following Twitter’s censoring of President Trump during the U.S. presidential election.

“Boris did not like what he saw in the US election and has asked for more time to consider how to avoid the same thing happening to him in future,” said the government source, discussing a planned internet regulation bill.

The European Union

Manfred Weber, leader of the largest party group in the European Parliament, said “we cannot leave it to American Big Tech to decide how we can or cannot discuss online,” labeling it a threat to the “consensus building” that is “crucial in free and democratic societies.”

Poland

Poland, run by a populist-nationalist government, has long taken the issue of tech censorship seriously. The Polish government is in the process of passing a law that would fine tech companies millions of euros for censoring content that is legal in Poland.

The law would also create a new Court for the Protection of Freedom of Speech in Poland, where citizens of the country will be able to escalate complaints of tech censorship.

Hungary

The government of Hungary, a resolute enemy of the international cultural left, began an investigation into tech censorship in Europe in 2019. A new anti-censorship social network, Hundub, was recently launched in the country. In the same year, Hungary also fined Facebook for claiming its services are “free.”

Australia

In the Pacific, leaders of the center-right government of Australia including the Deputy Prime Minister, Michael McCormack, and the Treasurer, Josh Fryndenburg, also voiced their opposition to the bans of Trump from social media.

“I’m not in favour of censorship – I think if people don’t like what they see on Twitter – well don’t go onto that social media platform,” McCormack told reporters.

“Freedom of speech is fundamental to our society … those decisions were taken by commercial companies – but personally I felt uncomfortable with what they did,” said Frydenburg.

Russia

In Russia, opposition leader Alexei Navalny, who was the victim of attempted assassination by poisoning last year, said Silicon Valley’s actions bear the hallmarks of authoritarianism.

“Of course, Twitter is a private company, but we have seen many examples in Russian and China of such private companies becoming the state’s best friends and the enablers when it comes to censorship,” said Navalny.

“If you replace ‘Trump’ with ‘Navalny’ in today’s discussion, you will get an 80% accurate Kremlin’s answer as to why my name can’t be mentioned on Russian TV and I shouldn’t be allowed to participate in any elections.”

Norway

Jonas Gahr Støre, leader of the left-wing Labour party in Norway and a favorite to become the next Prime Minister of the country, also criticized the censorship.

While condemning President Trump for “hate,” the left-wing party leader said that big tech censorship threatened political freedom around the world.

“This is a line where freedom of expression is also at stake,” said Støre. “If Twitter starts with this sort of thing, it means that they have to go around the world and look at other people completely astray, and shut them out.”

In Support of Donald Trump, Mexican President AMLO to Raise Tech Censorship Issue at G20 as Global Backlash Intensifies

The President of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, is mounting a campaign against Big Tech’s political interference as global backlash against Silicon Valley over the censorship of President Donald Trump intensifies.

The Mexican president, a socialist, is emerging as one of Big Tech’s most vocal critics on the world stage following the mass-banning of President Trump from Twitter, Facebook, and most other mainstream tech platforms.

López Obrador said he intends to reach out to other governments to form a “common front” on the issue, and will raise the matter at the next G20 summit.

Via AP:

MEXICO CITY (AP) — Mexico’s president vowed Thursday to lead an international effort to combat what he considers censorship by social media companies that have blocked or suspended the accounts of U.S. President Donald Trump.

President Andrés Manuel López Obrador’s administration is reaching out to other government to form a common front on the issue.

“I can tell you that at the first G20 meeting we have, I am going to make a proposal on this issue,” López Obrador said. “Yes, social media should not be used to incite violence and all that, but this cannot be used as a pretext to suspend freedom of expression.”

Oh damn, the madman has done it. . .

I started watching at 4:18, he says studies have found that narcissists are more physically attractive on average. That can’t be true, remember when posters in here were arguing that physical attraction can’t be measured in an objective manner?

What’s the scientific scale used to measure beauty?

I can’t recall it right now.

Ask the social scientists who study that subject, it’s not hard to find online. It’s not up to me to do that work for you.
