What you need is a pandemic response team. Unfortunately, Trump nuked the one he inherited from Obama.
Remember when Trump touted that there were less deaths from COVID than Swine flu. . . . .
I donât think for even a little bit that Covid would have been gone by summer if Clinton was Pres but less would have probably died and I would have to argue with waaaaay less people in my store that they have to wear a mask on premises because they wouldnât have had their mind poisoned that this was all fake/over blown/muh freedumbs whatever the fuck because the God damn President told them so.
Iâm dizzy on the whole pandemic response team thing. What was their function exactly? And donât say âduhhhh pandemic response,â I mean, what would they have been able to do that the CDC couldnât have at least in terms of recommendation of a course of action?
At a minimum they would at least have had a plan in place on how to handle it.
We got absolutely nothing of that sort.

Purpose Statement:
The goal of the Playbook For High-Consequence Emerging Infectious Disease Threats and Biological Incidents (Playbook) is to assist U.S. Government experts and leaders in coordinating a complex U.S. Government response to a high consequence emerging disease threat anywhere in the world with the potential to cause an epidemic, pandemic, or other significant public health event, by providing a decision-making tool that identifies: questions to ask; agency counterparts to consult for answers to each; and key decisions which may require deliberation through the Presidential Policy Directive process or its successor National Security Council process. The Playbook also includes sample documents that can be used for interagency meetings that need to be called at each stage. While each emerging infectious disease threat will present itself in a unique way, a consistent, capabilities-based approach to addressing these threats will allow for faster decisions with more targeted expert subject matter input from Federal departments and agencies.
In summary - Hereâs a document created from lessons learned in 09 so we donât fuck up again.
A comprehensive vaccine rollout, a PPE supply chain mapped out, plans for overpopulated hospitals and morguesâŚ
You know, the stuff that we werenât prepared for. That would be their job, having the logistics ready
Iâve read over that playbook before in depth. I have no doubt it would have helped some but a lot of it seemed dependent on the nation or origin being forthcoming with information and that wasnât the case with covid.
I find it kind of crazy that they donât already have standard plans for those kinds of things in place already without having to have another task force involved. Like, doesnât a lot of that seem like stuff we should have figured out and not need another layer of bureaucracy to enact?
The origin factor is one thing. Execution on how to mitigate the risk is another. The Trump administration failed there.
Hopefully the ineptitude of the previous camp creates a swath of information on what not to do.
I agree, but you also need an administration not to spout BS when a situation needs to be effectively controlled. Doing so can add âred tapeâ because CYA.
Trump fucked up
You know it
The other way he fucked up was pushing miracle cures to make money
Yes he fucked but a lot of people outside of him fucked and we rely on them to have their shit together. Our institutions are failing us for various reasons and you canât blame that solely on trump.
The way I sees it is that the information and road map was there, but instead of using it, we had to appoint people to a group, figure out who was going to do what, then find the road map, read it and make sure we understood it, then try to follow it.
Instead of putting the guy who was warming up in the bullpen on the mound, we pulled a rookie off the bench to pitch. Sure, the rookie knows the rules of baseball and has watched games before, but the kid ainât ready.
Receipt of Trump CoVid FUCK-UPâERY found on May 26. 2020:
I disagree. Trump is to blame for a lot of shit, but there are a lot of variables in our society that lead to the breakdown of institutions. Big corporate spending driven by agendas to influence policy being a big one. Itâs not solely on Trump. I know the man gets a lot of hate, and most of it is warranted, but heâs a symptom of a much larger issue.
Profits over people been the golden rule from the dawn of time
Isnât Jesus a profit?
People profiting off a prophet, in fulfillment of the prophecy, as was profitized.
Agreed. You donât get a âCelebrity in Chiefâ overnight.
Pretty sure Jesus kicked the Jesus Gold/Plus vendors out of the temple. Say no to pay to pray! #NoPrayWalls
Jesus was a fucking ninja.
