Respect…
Trump fucking outbid states for ppe
He did this so places like california would come bowing their heads asking for him to share.
Trump did this during the pandemic. He also continuously denied aid to Puerto rico.
Trump is a fucking evil piece of shit
Nobody is defending china
We are saying trump fucked up at every turn in taking covid 19 as a threat and shifted so staunchly in misinformation that if fucked up half of this country to question how valid a threat covid is. With many of his supporters ending up dead
China is china. But look at how Australia and New Zealand have handled covid. Look at south korea and japan.
Their proximity to china is right there. Hell taiwan and hong kong have also handled covid well.
The US is number one in infections and death.
That is trump’s legacy of doing nothing
Your take is fucking ridiculous.
Also the magas wanted a military coup. Like one in myanmar right now where the military jailed the winners of the election and the current president because election fraud. This is the legacy
There is evidence that suggests the virus was already in the states as early as November. We may never know for sure since tests were not available, but there’s data that seems to suggest COVID-19 was already spreading in the US by the time China was working things out. China fucked up but, honestly, people aren’t respecting COVID-19 enough. It would literally take one infected person from Wuhan getting on an international flight and it was already GG for the rest of the world. If this was the case for the November/December time frame, by the time China even detected anything, it was likely too late for the rest of the world. Like I said in my post, China isn’t without blame, but I see criticizing China when it comes to the US’s response to COVID-19 as downplaying just how badly the federal government responded to it since January. I severely doubt the Trump administration would have done anything different had China been better about alerting the rest of the world of an unknown SARS-like virus ASAP. It’s also really fucked up the GOP ran with blaming China HARD because it was impossible to defend Trump’s poor response. It was literally in a GOP memo to not defend Trump and attack China instead, furthering the GOP’s xenophobic platform for 2020. It’s a very tired argument. I don’t really care if China could have done better. Their poor response had zero factor in the Trump administration completely fucking up.
What Mike said is a good point, not to mention that the narrative Democrats ran with is that Trump colluded with Russia to help win the election, not that he literally stole the election with Russia’s help. Collusion with Russia is not the same as claiming the entire election process was fraudulent because you lost but only in the battleground states and nowhere else. Furthermore, there was already evidence of Russia interfering in the election, where Trump’s claim of voter fraud had zero credible evidence after one week, two weeks, a month, two months, and up until he left office. So, NO, DeSantis isn’t right. He isn’t making any points. He probably knows this too but isn’t arguing in good faith.
Blaming China is just one of the many examples of deflection that dumb ass Trumpers use to try and make excuses for him being the most incompetent coward baby president in the history of the world.
Every other president in this situation if the pandemic isn’t under control in a few months would be like
“My fellow Americans I am sorry I have failed to meet the needs of this disaster” or something to that effect.
They wouldn’t shy away from the responsibility.
Trump actively tries to shift responsibility from himself as much as he can to include and not limited to ignoring the problem, spouting the same rhetoric about “China China China”, setting up false expectations, putting the majority of the effort into the hands of State Governors (and then blame them), and focusing more on his own Reelection than the wellbeing of the Nation, including playing Simp to the Foreign Nations you promise to be tough on.
Well the nice thing is, if the people they elect to represent them do a shitty job they don’t approve of, you’ll get elected next time. You should be able to admit defeat and wish the person you ran against good luck, because you both work for the same people and should have the same goals.
Being a sore loser and trying to get the results thrown out because you don’t like it is, as you put it
I just find it odd that a conservative would see being a sore loser as a virtue, when often American conservatives find giving participation trophies to kids as deplorable, saying that kids need to learn how to lose and improve as a result
Crazy how that works. It reminds me of a quote I saw on a shirt once.
"It’s simple
You lose, you go home"
Not to be ornery; but the information was floating around out there. The interview in question is from March 8, 2020.
The cited Woodward tapes of Trump reveal they had knowledge of airborne transmission in February.
On April 2, 2020 the following study was submitted COVID-19 Outbreak Associated with Air Conditioning in Restaurant, Guangzhou, China, 2020.
I’m not here to drag, or indict Dr. Fauci; but I’m merely pointing out that perhaps with the information available, careerist ambition may need to be sacrificed in favor of erring on the side of caution. No doubt Trump kept both Dr. Fauci and Dr. Birx on a short leash; but when that fuckwad is invalidating what you say - then it may be in the public interest to die on your sword to protect the public from a once a century pandemic. You’re not likely to be alive for the next one.
This was further exacerbated by the representative media organs of American political parties further politicizing a bloody virus to their own ends in order to push a needless political agenda during a public health crisis.
I thank god my skepticism and need to arm myself with data helped me find this information on May 12, 2020 where hard working virologists parsed the information and relayed it. In addition to sharing a study suggesting transmission was roughly 45% droplet, 45% aerosol, and 10% fomite.
FXCK THE MEDIA.
I HAVE THE RECEIPTS.
My frustration is in walking between the two extremes at my work place. My immediate co-workers are hard right, and rejected any information that could have mitigated spread. e.g. We had an idiot come to work sick, resulting in five of our staff (when we were already understaffed) being forced to quarantine, and successfully passing the virus on to one of those co-workers who also passed it to his wife and child.
On the other end of the spectrum, the constant fear mongering from the other side of the aisle has those viewers in a perpetual state of misinformed agitation. I say that as some who has been sanitizing groceries with hydrogen peroxide or bleach and water since March 2020. At least I had some knowledge that I’d be safe from my can of mixed vegetables, so long as I didn’t rub it all over my face before sanitizing it.
A pandemic should never have been politicized, and the god damned media needs to be held accountable and begin to make amends to spread good information with regularity. As often as their pimp the wares of their advertising partners! Pimp the science under we get this under wraps. I can’t reach all the people I’d like to, and not everybody is willing to invest hundreds of hours over a year listening to heady science conversation to scrape out the salient bits. I try, but it takes a lot of effort for a blue collar worker to organize and maintain notes in a way that doesn’t resemble a Hollywood conspiracy theorists idea board.
People trust the media, and those cocksuckers need to start earning that trust instead of jumping up and down on the dopamine release button in their constituencies brains.
Sorry. I am not mad at you, and I’m thankful for the kindness and banter this forum has provided while I’ve been forced to alter my behavior and isolate from friends and family. This was just venting some frustration.
And none of those convictions have anything to do with the narrative that was pushed “Trump colluded with russia to steal/influence the election.” They’re all other crimes that were found during the investigation or lying to congress. Look, I’m happy as the next guy to see someone like Paul Manafort rot in prison (he didn’t and probably won’t) but every article I’ve read from Time on down to smaller pubs says that Mueller was never able to find anything that answered the question of whether or not trump and his campaign colluded with russia. So this is a bullshit narrative based on misinformation.
And yet if anyone even disputes that this recent election was anything but 100% clean, they’re called terrorists, they’re told they’re “spreading misinformation” and threatened with deplatforming for even talking about it. Weird, huh?
Sure, but why is it wrong or “xenophobic” (lol) to cast blame to a country that was covering it up for months? If the US government had done this exact same thing, you and probably everyone else in here would be calling for blood, rightfully so. So why is it different because it’s China?
I would agree but acting like if only he hadn’t been in the equation that everything would have been presents and blowjobs all day long is equally ridiculous.
I agree for the most part, but again, you forget what hyper polarized times we’re living in. 2 years under the other party is the end of the world to most people these days. I think I liked it better when fewer people were paying attention to politics.
I don’t know who has made that claim but I know I sure haven’t.
I am 100% confident though if he hadn’t been in the equation that we wouldn’t be in as bad a shape as we are.
I’m not saying you did, but I think a lot of people truly believe it would have been over by summer if only clinton had been in office. Problem is, the same people would still have been in power in other areas so I don’t know how much different it would have truly been. Better for sure, but hard to say by how much.
Those people are quite often like “My Pillow Guy”. The ones being threatened to be deplatformed aren’t trying to have a rational conversation.
I agree, however Trump poured gasoline onto a fire because “MAGA”. I am certain it was done to polarize his base and hold onto power. It backfired.
Oh don’t get me wrong there are people who definitely ARE spreading misinformation in regards to this, but there are people who are simply asking questions that being lumped into that and that’s kinda scary.
And I think Trump was just being trump. Unfortunately you don’t need a salesman in a pandemic situation but people don’t often stop being who/what they are when they take the Oval Office.
