All those consoles were great and all but personally, this was the highlight:

My buddy had this since his dad worked for the cable company. His dad also had the Spice channel which fucked me up as a kid.

They didn’t know that

But…but…in UMVC3 on boot-up we see a static image of the Capcom logo and we’re like, “Ohhhhhh” and then a squeaky girly voice says, “Capcom presents!” and we’re all like, "Ahhhh…

…then again, you’re right. Modern logos do kinda suck.

Saturn did okay really, things didn’t get ugly till DC days.

Since we’re branching out, this was a rad little platformer. Also Working Designs turned everything they touched into pure ass.

Dino Crisis has been hit particularly hard by the passage of time… While the graphics are decent enough that it is still playable, the interface is beyond cumbersome… I’ve tried to replay it on numerous occasions, I just can’t get through it.

I cannot stress enough how incredible your avatar is.

Drunken Master is the greatest movie ever made, and you show it great respect.

I thank you.

Dino Crisis sadly will always be the “Survival horror is a fancy way of saying ‘monsters will come through windows’” game to me. Some jokes you can just never recover from.

They should have called it Key Crisis. And as much as I love the Saturn, Res evil still played better on PS1

No if you read up on Sega in the mid-90s, you’d know that Sega’s out of the console game today because of the Saturn. But I’ll quit since this is a PS1 thread

I like the part where you twisted my words and failed.
Dino Crisis 2 was basically a prototype of the Action Horror genre. Man that game was awesome.

Live and learn I guess ><

I remember when my uncle bought 1st bought the PSOne and he had one of the Final Fantasy games with Bushido Blade on it.Seeing Resident Evil 2 for the first time was some mind blowing ish man.funny story,i remember i had Mortal Kombat Trilogy on N64,then my unc bought it for PSOne,he let me play it and i remember going back in my room playing the N64 version thinking this is a piece of shit

some more of my fav ps1 games:

Maximum Force
Crash Bandicoot 2
WWF War Zone
Fighting Force(that game was hot!,i wish there would’ve been a updated one)
Road Rash
Tomb Raider III(i think or pt 2)
Gex:Enter The Gecko
Marvel Vs Street Fighter
Need For Speed 3
Need For Speed:High Stakes
Ridge Racer 4
THPS 1-2
The Rugrats Game
Bushido Blade 2
Space Jam
NFL Blitz
NBA Hoopz
Tekken 3

there was some game where u caught monkeys,i forgot the name of it but i remember u needed a dual shock controller to play it.Wow,looking back PSOne was the last time i really enjoyed playing video games.I liked Xbox but PSOne was GOAT

This game was sooooo goooooooooooooooooooooood

I think my PSX is in storage. Last time I saw a PSOne in person, a nigga had it in his basement on top of a PS2 calling them both PS3.
:bluu:

The more I look back, the more I realize that PS1 era game soundtracks were the best. I still love my SNES era soundtracks but the composers still had that melodic feel with PS1 only now they had CD quality audio. Games now try to have movie soundtracks and they tend to make them forgettable.

Na, '90s era PC:

I played this game before I played any other FF game
This will always be the best Final Fantasy.

I never really cared for the PSX, i remember i had to turn that shit upside down to even work…

Games that i remembered that i enjoyed

Ridge Racer4
FF Tactics
Star Ocean 2
Bust a Groove
Poy Poy 2
Street Fighter EX 2 plus Alpha

I was more of a Saturn & 3D0 guy…

It had some of the best games, but it was also the first half-ass system that I remember having. First, you had to turn the damn thing over for it to work…after awhile, even that wouldn’t work, so I had to turn the system on its side and lean it against the tv at a certain angle for it to play anything.

*There was a cool looking game called “Philosoma” that was previewed on the demo disc that came with the system back in '95… the weird thing is that I never saw Philosoma in any store, though I don’t think it was canceled. Of all the stuff on that preview disc, that game had the best cinema/trailer footage… it was one of the first trailers for a game I saw that was like a movie trailer.

In terms of the games though… Playstation was kicking the shit out of everything’s ass. Nothing else was even close, except for the 2d fighting games on Saturn. Anything outside of that category, PSX was ruling the world.

No way, Saturn itself was successful enough. Was decent in the U.S and hugely popular in Japan. It’s all Sega’s other bad decisions combined.

Sounds like you got a lemon. My PSX & PSOne always functioned perfect, but i have heard that happening though. I think the main reason they recommended turning it upside down was because the venting system didn’t always perform well, and thus it got overheated and interfered with laser operation.

Yay another Saturn fan…but 3D0, really? It was the weird bridge back in the day, being a lot stronger than 16-bit consoles but falling short of 32-bit.

And the Neo Geo price point was harsh for those wanting to give it a chance. .
