They definitely are not state troopers, they are campus police that act like regular city cops. They have real power on campus, but I’m sure chain of command is very much different than local police. They only have jurisdiction on campus and the immediate vicinity.
Today on CBS College Gameday they said McQueary said he reported it to police, then they said right after that, there was no report listed for “campus” or “local” police.
I seen also they said in 2007 an administrator from Penn State went before State congress and asked to have something passed to seal all Penn State’s documents and shit. And they passed it. I don’t remember if it was the school President or not.
I know this is over a week old, but you are assuming a shitload of stuff. JoePa didn’t get fired for what he knew/didn’t do. He got fired because the board of trustees decided to remove literally everyone who could have come under criticism. They used a cleaver instead of a scalpel, that’s why JoePa is fired. No one knows what he did or didn’t know and the only way he was implicated was via hearsay told to him. Not only this, but we now learn that the assistant who told him is now outright lying to the press and authorities about what he did and didn’t do? I just think JoePa was too old to mount this responsibility (reporting it, following through). Even though he has a legitimate argument in only reporting what he heard to his AD, child molesters were never in his mind when he accepted to coach Penn State and it shows how different the times are. Truly, he was guilty before proven innocent, but I’m not sure if anything ‘right’ could have ever come out of this situation.
America always panics before the facts or they always blame the wrong person. Look at almost every major trial in America and how the public’s opinion is on it. They almost always are either sure of a person innocence or guilt before the trial has even begun. We as a people panic when we hear really emotional and tragic stories, and as a result make terrible conclusions.
