But you didn’t say it on TV, so nobody cares.
Haha, nah I meant I was talking about this specific interview a few pages ago and people asked about it.
i was aware when i was reading thread. I had a feeling someone had it posted on youtube. Oh BTW did you hear the reporter “who was Penn State in many ways” Dont need to go further
Opps. my bad.
0-for-2 this week on my post prep.
Not a good look.
So is Sandusky on like suicide watch…or protected against angry mobs?
Wow…quite ballsy.
The more I think about it, the more I feel like this is only breaking the surface of other things going on.
Too many people knew, why not just come clean against one pedo?
They catch him raping a kid in the showers and he’s still around. Somethings not right.
Call the police?
How you gonna make that blackmail money by threatening to put the hidden cam vid up on youtube?
Also, I wonder what made him decide to go to Dick’s?
And that Paterno’s firing was unanimous…made me a bit suspicious about Penn State’s BoD.
Someone’s gonna make a fortune with a novel on this, unfortunately.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand I bet it will be MacQuerry. Speaking of him word on the street is he wont be coaching
Quarter back should just down the ball every play on Saturday. This is about more than sports.
I would agree with this except for the fact that McQueary never called the cops. That brings into question for me how forthcoming dude was about what he saw. I can understand not doing something to stop what was going on in the act due to “shock” or related emotional responses, but within 24 hours it should have occurred to him to call the police.
I do see it as Paterno being used as a scapegoat of sorts (this does not excuse him for not going to the cops even with whatever info he had.) But even with the “whistleblower law” or whatever it’s called that other guy shouldn’t have a job.
Well now time to see if the NCAA will take action as well.
oh guys its OK, it was ONLY one kid, and he didn’t die! oh plus lots of people get raped every day! so clearly its all good, FOOTBALL YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH
Paterno is not being used as a scapegoat, they want remove everybody that knew and didn’t act or covered it up.
Once again:
1998-Sandusky was seen molesting a 6-year old kid in PSU showers, police were brought in and he was investigated. He admitted to it being wrong and said he would not do it anymore. D.A chose not to prosecute, which is wrong, but I can see they were trying to avoid a scandal on campus.
1999-Sandusky retired
2002-McQueary seen Sandusky rape a boy in PSU locker room
Sandusky had an office and was on campus up to last week.
It isn’t Paterno’s fault Sandusky did those things, but he condoned it by allowing him to bring more victims around the program.
Paterno is part of Penn State’s problem, they want to blow it up and start over.
They shouldn’t and I hope they don’t. I also doubt they will. If you think about other schools that get NCAA sanctions the biggest backlash is from people who say something along the lines of “what about the kids that are there now. They’re being punished for something they had no part in,” and this is completely true. This case is different than all of those, however, for 2 reasons. The first being that the people who should be getting punished will, and are being punished. Not only are people losing their jobs, some of them may see legal and civil action and so will the school. The second being that none of this had anything to do with any NCAA program. Players weren’t getting benefits, coaches weren’t involved in illegal recruiting, or anything along those lines. There was no “unfairnes” or abuse of power as it related to any NCAA sport.
Many people jokingly say stuff like “student athlete” is an oxymoron, and in many cases that’s true, but in many cases it isn’t. Taking away scholarships is going to hurt some student or potential student that had nothing to do with this. Anything the NCAA could do would just be unnecessary piling on. The fallout from this is going to be pretty big anyway.
Normally I stay away from analogies because I cringe at the bad ones people throw out, and they usually don’t help get a point across, but I’ll say this: It’s kind of like if a teenager is playing with matches and sets his house on fire. The place burns up, all of his possessions are gone, and he’s facing a count of juvenile arson. As a parent is grounding him really necessary at that point?
If there’s anything good to come of this I hope they get some good psychiatrists to sit down with that Sandusky guy. Say what you will about him but he was good at what he did. Not only to stay in a position to do it, but to be able to pick out which kids and families he could prey on and still continue to do what he was doing. Perhaps questioning him can help to better profile these people, or something along those lines. There’s probably thousands of pedos across the land that are locked up for this sort of thing, but he was on some kingpin type shit. Maybe getting into his mind can shed some more light on this sort of thing.
What many people forget that this is Penn State. So many of their football players cough Larry Johnson cough been a stain on the school for decades now.
what did gramama do? i stopped paying attention to him when he stopped running for 1500+ a year with the chiefs
