Yeah it should work, it’s equivalent to a GTX 970 which is like $100+ more but you get more bang for buck.

Or if that’s not your cup of tea, you could go for a 290.

And if I go with the card I’ll need a new psu? If yes, I guess I’ll look into it and make my decision.

Yeah go for 970/290x/390 at that price point.

Sadquotes, 980ti and a 1080 monitor? Drop a storage drive and step up to at least 1440p!

I did some research. That MSI card sure draws a lot of power. Still, I’ve read that a 550W power supply is the recommended minimum for the card. So my 600W should be sufficient, yes? I will keep the extra PSU in mind, though. A 750W PSU is only about $65-70 so it’s not like it’ll break bank. It just means 6 less six-packs that month.

When I get more throwaway money, I wanna get that 980ti card so I can lengthen the e-peen on my rig and make it rock hard(er).
Gah… all those Noctua fans. Those damn things are not cheap!

All AMD cards use a lot of power and tend to draw more heat, they’re cheaper than Nvidia that’s for sure. They also have nice drivers called Maturity Drivers, so they get better over time.

I beat the Witcher 3. Took 90 hours. Got the bad ending. Depressed. I think I have a save that I can use to get a better ending, but I need to replay about 6 hours.

Edit: one of my favorite games ever. Even with the bad ending.

Anyway I put a mild 150 mhz overclock on my gtx 980. No temp increase at all. Squeezing out a few extra frames. I’d never overclocked before, good times.

I would advise 750W just because you never know what the future holds.

Yeah I’ll still get it. It’s not terribly expensive.

Anyone else have problems downloading Dota 2 through Steam? This is my second attempt and it always KOs my PC.

It worked fine for me, even in Linux. Which, I might go back to playing on.

I need some help. Lately a couple of my programs get the “not responding” message. Mainly iTunes and Handbreak. I can open most other programs just fine but those two are giving me problems.

If I click on the iTunes icon it takes about 5 minutes to open. Then if I click on the phone tab it says not responding. But if I wait a few minutes it works. With Handbreak its a bit different. It opens right away but when I click on the Source tab I get the not responding message. And it never responds, I just have to close out of it.

I’ve tried Mbam and a few other programs like that but there are no viruses or malware.

Any help would be appreciated.

How old is your hard drive?

4 years. I know that’s like the danger zone but why does it only happen with a couple/few programs?

Perhaps because those programs are installed in places where damage to the disk has occurred.

That is assuming, of course, that the hard drive is at fault to begin with.

That was the basic symptoms when my hard drive failed. First it was only a few programs, then eventually even things like web pages would take minutes to load.

Guess I better back that shit up on my external hdd then and prepare to get a new internal one.

That would be the prudent course of action. Keep in mind, even SMART tests may not report any problems with the drive. Wouldn’t hurt to check anyways

That’s a pretty bad situation, but turn it positive and pick up a nice SSD as a replacement.

I’ve had my storage drive for like 6 years and it’s still kicking. I dunno for how much longer that’ll be the case. I’ve just worried myself.
