The PC gaming Thread. Steam/GOG/Origin/Etc. Game/Software/Hardware talk

bro, I want 60 fps max everything…

The reason I say it won’t stand a chance is because I couldn’t do certain levels of Metro 2 when the volumetric real time clouds appeared. Unplayable unless at the lowest settings, but it was probably a driver issue.

I didn’t like Dark Souls 2 at all. The athmosphere didn’t compare, the architecture wasn’t as good and there where a lot of situations where it got hard becuase it turned into here are 5 high level enemies, fight them all now.

Was it ok, sure, but that adaptability clause really made the game shit imo. Parrying also sucked balls. I hope 3 ditches adaptability.

Worst thing about souls 2 was its PVP.

Other than that i’m not gonna complain about a game i’ve spent 400-500 hours on.

never bothered with that sword, shield parrying was wildly diffrent that I didn’t bother with that shit

I’m hoping MGSV:PP is at least gonna run on my outdated GTX560 PC. GZ ran amazing on my laptop on high settings and my laptop isn’t anything special.

Also, with the Xbone streaming with Windows 10, can you use any controllers/sticks outside of the Xbone controllers? (Like 360 controllers/sticks)

RIP VR. You were so close.

Two words: Digital contacts. Once it’s completely unobtrusive VR will be everywhere. Augmented reality will become reality for many.

i have an extra copy of Ground Zeroes for preordering MGSV. anybody wanna buy it? or trade Cradle for it?

I’ll give you $4.

Here’s a pic from the new Tony Hawk game:

The wall texture in the background is more detailed than EVERYTHING else in that picture. :#

i gave it away for free to one of my twitter followers.

I don’t know if that’s meant to plug your Twitter account or to throw shade at me.

Alright. In about two months I’ll be getting a new video card as a birthday gift from the woman. However, she needs help in deciding which to get because she knows fuck all about PCs. I won’t admit this to her but I barely know shit, myself. I just plug things in and hope for the best most of the time.

Can anyone recommend a video card between $200-300? Keep in mind it doesn’t have to be top of the line, but I want it to be able to play MGS5 at least pretty decently. My current one played Revengeance okay but it stuttered in a few places even with 12GB of RAM.

Power Supply: A Thermaltake 600W PS (link here) I need a video card compatible with this.

CPU: Intel Core i5-760 Lynnfield Quad-Core 2.8GHz LGA 1156 95W BX80605I5760 Desktop Processor

Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-P55-USB3 LGA 1156 Intel P55 USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

So, help?

Only 600w psu? That could limit your options right there…

Decided what I want, despite going overkill I’m going for it. Make my dreams come true.

So what’s in that range?

If nothing satisfactory, I’d invest in another psu but I really don’t want to.

MSI R9 390 for a go-to GPU

And maybe get a 750 Watt PSU from EVGA?

That card looks overkill. Would it work on my motherboard? Shit looks like it needs 8 PCI-E slots.
