The PC gaming Thread. Steam/GOG/Origin/Etc. Game/Software/Hardware talk

If you upgrade to Windows 10, make sure you run the new disk clean up!

It keeps your old version stored in case you want to roll back, eating up 30+ gb. My ssd breathed a sigh of relief after I deleted it.

Anyone here play Insurgency? Just recently picked it up, played a couple times. It’s much more comfortable and intuitive for me than CounterStrike is.

So this game looks interesting.

Secrets of Grindea

I haven’t gotten into it seeing as how it’s EARLY ACCESS!! FUCK!!!
But it looks like Legend of Mana. Has cool shit and it already has multiplayer.

On Windows 10. Seems like it killed my track pad. I can’t scroll on it. Weak.

Not sure why peeps are upgrading. New versions of Windows are always spotty. Give it a few months.

It isn’t that bad. It seems to run better on my old-ass laptop than Windows 7 did, so that’s a plus.

More of a fan of the 40K…but I’ll still likely get this.

Another random windows 10 bug: NVIDIA shadowplay causes the photo app to crash if you try to open a picture without the app already open. If you open the app first, it works fine. Just a FYI.

Also, phantom pain moved up to September 1… If I’m drive Witcher by then I may pick it up. That’ll give me (hopefully) a month before my son arrives. Ground Zeroes was so well optimized, I have complete faith this will be an excellent port.

Edit: mgs5 system requirements…

Recommended:

OS: Windows 7x64, Windows 8x64 (64-bit OS Required)
Processor: Intel Core i7-4790 (3.60GHz) or better; Quad-core or better
Memory: 8 GB RAM
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 (DirectX 11 graphic card required)

Hard Drive: 28 GB available space
Sound Card: DirectX 9.0c compatible sound card (Surround Sound 5.1)

That cpu requirement seems… High

That sounds like a SCCM 2012 feature.

Great for businesses, but this does not work for the consumer space.

I have bought a few early access games on steam, most of them I haven’t regretted, but it does seem like the trend on steam is to get that early access money and never finish the game! I have a few backlog games I am going to finish before playing through this one.

One of the reasons why I hold off on early Access games…

Damn, MGS5 kills my CPU. Why does it need so much?

I doubt it does. Especially looking at the gpu requirements (and comparison to console cpus)… It appears to be overkill.

I might have to look into finally overclocking my stock 2.8 ghz i7 860

Always get the games that actually have a reputation. All the early access games I’ve jumped on have strong dev backgrounds and come out successfully when full game is out.

Secret of Dicks, however, doesn’t have much rep. It’s just 4 devs making a game for fun. Granted, it does look really fun. But with no ETA on release date on sight… Man… I don’t know…

Dark souls 1 on humble bundle. Pacman champ edition, Ridge racer, other Namco games up there.

Going to get this. Mostly for Ace Combat.

I don’t like Plane Games, or flight sims at all…but…

Instant buy.

Kind of want to try Dark Souls…but I hear the PC port is shit.

Google “DS fix” and you’re golden. Fixes the issues with the port.

If you’ve never played a Souls games before, you’re fucking up. Absolutely worth all the praise and then some, one of my favorite series that started last-gen. B)

I played Demon Souls I thought it was ok, but I got bored with it.
I also am morally opposed to any game that requires me to go out of the way to fix it.

dark souls is better every way. don’t botehr with 2, it’s total shit

my 7970 stands no chance against MGS5

I like Demon’s over Dark, and I think Dark Souls 2(especially the Scholar of the First Sin PC/PS4/Xbone release) is underrated. Yeah, Demon’s and DS1 > 2, but DS2 is still a great game.

Edit: I think you’re underestimating that GPU and are reading too heavily into the PC requirements of MGSV.
