Just be aware, some of those games are not even playable due to defunct 3rd party DRM. Read the comments before you buy.
Just saw a review of the game, looks incredible.
I’ve been thinking about giving GoG a try, as Steam’s always-online DRM is pissing me off (it makes me want to go back torrenting games again). What are you guys thoughts on it?
friend passed up his witcher 3 code to me.
Activated it, looks good. Though, GoG keeps promoting me to purchase Witcher 3, when my cart and email show that I’ve already redeemed/purchase the game.
Only reason I bought on steam is that I had some gift cards to use. If you buy gog, you can use their client or download a drm free version right from the site.
I’m unbelievably hype for this game. Unfortunately I’m not going to get to play it much this week…
The next translated book in the series comes out tomorrow too. Definitely worth reading.
I’m suspicious as fuck about Witcher 3. It’s getting a little “too” much praising.
I love Witcher 1 and 2, and I was hype for 3 just cause it’s part 3. But with these reviews coming out with 10s, I’m rather concerned.
It makes me more uneasy since watching gameplay footage from random twitch streamers, from what I’ve seen, it’s completely unimpressive. I’ve watched some of DansGaming, who seems really good at most of the games he plays, doesn’t seem to have an opinion on it just yet.
Regardless, it comes out tonight, and best way to find out is for yourself, huh?
Also just bought Alien Isolation haven’t touched it yet tho.
These steam sales are going to kill me now that I know my pc can run 90% of this shit on high settings I fear for my wallet in the next coming months.
That was the most retarded teaser of all time.
I don’t get it…
I was actually hype seeing the Doom logo. Upon watching the video I literally lost all interests. That was the most retarded thing I’ve ever seen for a teaser.
On the other hand, the logo also reminded me of Hatred. Shit comes out in 2 weeks, I’m actually kinda hyped for that game. It’s been a very long time since a twin stick shooter has came out.
Okay so yeah, Witcher 3 is not meant for PC, I guess.
Playing on Keyboard and Mouse, has some of the shittest control schemes.
The combat is “interesting” in a sense that, it kinda sucks.
The spells are VERY, VERY lack luster and the enemy AI is basically non-existence. Higher level creatures don’t mean shit if you can abuse the AI so easily. I’m still just surprised as to how boring the spells are, it makes no sense to me. I guess they get better later? But Witcher 2, the spells were quiet interesting from the start.
The game kinda looks like shit in Ultra settings. Witcher 2 in Ultra looks miles better than Witcher 3.
It sucks, it’s quiet obvious the overall game was downgraded for console purpose.
No, it’s not just “graphics” only. Limited to consoles also effects gameplay in a very technical sense (ie. as what my complaining about in regards to spells and AI). Overall, Witcher 3 isn’t that great at all. I want to say I’m disappointed, but honestly, I was expecting this. My standards were basically a game AS good as Witcher 1 or 2. Instead, I got something slightly above mediocre. Which I guess that’s okay, but that’s not something I was expecting from a company like CD Projekt.
Can’t say I agree with you on the graphics. Game looks great in action.
The controls are a bit wonky, but I have yet to like the controls in the Witcher games so far.
I haven’t played enough to judge the ai or the combat in general, but can’t you cast different version of each sign? I feel like that alone makes signs more interesting… At least it seems like more than the shield sign will be useful in 3. And combat seemed more fluid and responsive than in 2…
Still, haven’t played 2 hours yet so I could be dead wrong.
That was the best 3 second teaser trailer of all time.
Starts off with DOOM guy reloading a double barrel shotgun, you can almost hear the CLACK-CLACK
METAL MUSIC STARTS PLAYING
FAHHHHHHHHHHHHH REVENANT OUT OF NO WHERE WITH ANIMATIONS SO SILKY SMOOTH MAYBE THEY DIDN’T FUCK UP ID TECH 6 AFTER ALL
GOING TO HAVE TO UPGRADE MY PC MOST LIKELY FUCK
Ah, I was basically implying, when side by side to with Witcher 2, it seems Witcher 2 on Ultra looks more visually appeal than that if Witcher 3. People may find it confusing since W3 takes a “different” art direction that isn’t W2.
As for the different signs stuff? Don’t know anything about that yet. The only spell I mainly use is the absorb hit and fire spell. Running into a bunch of high level monsters, killing them all off quiet easily. My settings are right before the hardest difficult (I guess just Hard? It’s above Normal) and haven’t really found anything challenging.
It seems like, from what I’m reading, a lot of resources are dedicated to reducing pop-in (something w2 suffered from).
I haven’t played w2 with good settings outside the first few minutes to test my new gpu, so it’s hard to relate.
In my brief time playing 3, I was pretty happy with the textures of geralt and the npcs. Hair works puts a hurting on my fps, I can’t decide if I want it on or off. Getting mid 40 fps with multiple characters on screen, upper 50s with just geralt and roach (horse) on screen, even outdoors.
The way the foliage works with the wind is great. Might make a few ini tweaks to get better shadows for the foliage.
I hope to play some more this week for better thoughts on gameplay, pretty busy so we’ll see. I just thought of it seemed like a more in depth w2 scheme.
Played through Wolfenstein: The Old Blood
Pretty good, a nice little snack. Beginning was slow, and was the weakest section of the game…and the final boss…was…sort of out of place, but not horrible. Probably could have stood to be a bit harder. Also the sawed off double barreled shotgun felt out of place. You get it pretty late in the game, a long while after you’ve gotten a duel wieldable, semi automatic shotgun with better range, a bigger magazine and a larger ammo reserve. Maybe on higher difficulties the difference in one shot killing power is greater…but I didn’t find it terribly useful. Did like the bolt action rifle. Man that thing popped a lot of heads. Graphics and gunplay are still really good.
Overall I would recommend it if you liked the new order, and want some more action right away, but if you had never played either you’d probably do well to wait for the TNO/TOB bundle to go on sale.
On the other hand, have you seen this leaked footage of a canned prototype version of Doom 4 ? I can’t believe id software at some point genuinely thought that the sequel to their most important franchise should look like the bastard child of Cowadoody and Rage. Blaaaaargh! >:(
