Pillars of Eternity is confusing. I’m not sure what rule set it uses so I can’t tell what items are more useful than others. It seems odd that my character would yell “what? It missed?!” When I cast a spell when my combat log clearly shows it hit.
I like the Monk class since you can literally make Kenshiro. Character only fights with fists and gets bonus damage per level. Has an ability that turns their fists blue and attack faster. You can even make it do 10%+ shock damage.
Daymn, it’s like they knew.
I like some of the balance changes made from Baldurs Gate.
Quick item slots are Very useful now since you’re not allowed your main inv during combat, forcing you to be more prepared.
I like how camp/rest works now. You’re limited to a set amount rather than just resting every battle.
gotta read the thread ya’ll. i didn’t tag when i commented the second time, saying no go. This Fri. L4D is mos def going down. I’ll tag ya’ll again closer to Fri. Hopefully, we can get at least 6 people.
In the article posted earlier, it seems like Pillars of Eternity uses its own formulas/rules, so basically make it up as you go along. Not sure about the combat log/voice discrepancy, but Obsidian (I love them, but buggy).
Started Hotline Miami 2 last weekend. Really fun, really hard. Seems to me that the combat is more specialized than last game. Idk if everyone will think that’s a good thing, I like it. There are different strategies for different levels ie goshotgunHAM, melee and disarm enemy’s guns or a more stealthy methodical approach with more quiet weapons. I like it so far, I’m only like halfway through Act 2 so I’m guessing I have a ways to go yet.
Thanks Lightz! I took the just cause collection off of your hands. And @Raz0r I tried adding you but I can’t seem to find your name on steam. If anyone wants to play me in ultra my Steam name is 8BitBlues.
Game is fun so far.
Playing through on Hard, getting my ass handed to me randomly. Game is forcing myself to micromanage better. Starting a new character/game to check out most of the classes isn’t bad since you can control the combat and non-combat speeds. I have my combat speed on normal, where as outside on combat I have it fast a fuck. You could even make it slow as fuck like the old BGs!
I’ve also had sound issues: every time I target an enemy while I’m sneaking, this confirmation sound-effect plays repeatedly. I have to exit the game and re-enter to get rid of it.
Also, I’m CONSTANTLY getting stuck in Raederic’s (sp) Keep. There are a couple of walkways that I simply can’t pass though. For example:
I can eventually get one guy through that walkway, but the rest cannot pass. It is infuriating. It’s at if it’s a wall, but I initially passed through it from above…how I did that I dont know.
It’s at the point where I’m going to have to stop playing this game. Maybe when I get back from Japan at the end of the month, they will have this patched out.
Can Obsidian release a game not riddled with bugs?
