Jann’s a pretty good lancer, pair him up with Largo, i think he has a perk that gives him a stat boost if he’s near largo specifically.
Anyone know what’s a good gaming laptop? I travel a lot so desktop is no good.
How much are you willing to spend, since any sort of decent gaming laptop will usually put you behind a fair amount
Yeah, you never really specified if you’re looking for something within a budget or if $$ is no issue to you at all.
If you don’t have any budget restrictions, I would try searching for gaming laptops that are using the mobile chipsets of the GTX 970 and 980; will prolly be listed with an M at the end, eg 980-M.
Otherwise, try looking at Asus’ gaming laptops within the 1200 to 1700 range. That’s basically as good as it will get with budgets and performance. Don’t take my word for it though, because I have never owned a gaming laptop in my life.
@ElderGOD
This is a good place to go for a gaming labtop

You can customize your labtop however you like there.
Its laptop. Because you know, it sits in your lap
Apple hates when you call their laptop laptops cause their not design to sit on your laptop. Cause like… it gets super hot and people be like “yo nigga that shit is hawt!” and complain to Apple. So Apple be like “nah man, just don’t put that shit on yo lap, you be aright” so it works out.
Also, Grim Dawn is crack. I can’t stop, and I need to stop to get to work on my project, but I won’t stop.
I didn’t see a 980 but I saw one with 970.
I configured it to get this. For some reason it lists thermal compound twice. I don’t know hardware please help.

@PozerWolf better than Path of Exile? I was really excited for Grim Dawn since I loved Titan Quest and was following Grim Dawn for what seems like years now, I know the creator wanted to focus on making the attack animations “crunchy” so you feel like you’re actually inflicting pain on the mobs and that caught my interest, but I haven’t had time for a Diablo clone lately.
Dunno why…but I laughed at this.
I like the way attacks feel in Grim Dawn. I think because he was trying to achieve that animation, the combat is somewhat faster than that of diablo or PoE, which feels nice. The overall speed of the game is at a good pace, but what I enjoy is the abilities available. There rather unique compare to other diablo clones I’ve played. The loot aspect is interesting as well as to how you can upgrade gear and the type of gear you gather.
I dunno, it’s a fun game, but I think the just like the entire “dual class” aspect a lot. I’m a sucker for those types of things, kinda gives you a special type of freedom to locate optimal builds.
So I’m going to save up a bit for a GTX 970, probably buy on right after the holidays, I need it badly. I’m curious though, until now all my graphic cards have been handed to me used from a friend (He gave me his 2 480’s last year hence why I’m not running anything more recent), so I don’t know what to look out for when choosing which 970. Every company has their own spin on it and I have no idea what to hone in on.
Grim Dawn costs money, which is already asking too much for an alpha.
About Age of Empires II HD on Steam, is it now a good game? Did they fix any issues on that game or is it still bad?
Just wait till late Jan! WAIT FOR ME!!
Looks like the Doom II speedrun record got beat. By just over 20 seconds at 23:03 (previous record was 23:25).
I’m actually hyped for Tree of Savoir cause it’s trying something different with MMOs.
It’s not trying to be a WoW clone like every fuckin MMO coming out now a days (fuckin FF Reborn was literally wow but watered down and better graphics), but a game like this comes up with a neat premises and sticks with it without pouring WoW juice all over it. I’ll love to play it once release in the states.
Seems like the success of one weeaboo game is bringing another to the states.
There was a Sega Humble bundle release too early but is now on schedule, but several people have confirmed that PSO2 Beta Keys were in it. Also, they are unblocking EU/US providers from accesing their main servers as of recent.
And on more depressing news, I finished Grim Dawn… I WANT MORE, DAMNITT!!
Re-rolling new character.
This game kind of looks like Dragon Nest. Too bad Nexon America decided to give us the “unique Nexon America experience” by nerfing drop rates by 99% and turning a fun game into a pointless grind or hack/bot/dupe game.
So, Shadows: Heretic Kingdoms just came out from Early Access to full game today.
I’ve been eyeballing it, but it didn’t seem as appealing as other EA games I’ve looked into. Full game came out, decided to jump the gun and purchase the game cause, why not. Every other game I’ve gotten this year were all trigger happy purchases, and they’ve all been fun as fuck! Sadly, looks like that gambling streak comes to an end, cause Shadows FUCKIN SUCKS DICK HOLY SHIT!! Honestly, it’s the worst game I’ve played this year.
Let’s see, where can I begin. I’ve only played 45 minutes of this game and I can already write down an essay of issues as to why the game sucks. But no one likes to hear someone bitch so I’ll try to keep it short:
- Gameplay is very slow and progression takes too fuckin’ long.
Slowest ARPG I’ve played yet, a game that introduces a gimmick like Giana Sisters Twisted Dreams, allowing you to switch characters from your main character class, to this demon who is trying to posses you. Each character has their own vision of said stage your playing with their own monsters to fight and abilities to obtain. They can switch whenever, however, while fighting mobs. This makes for quiet possibly the most linear and brain dead puzzles the game has to offer.
Most ARPGs, when I’m 45 minutes in, I have loot, abilities, and an idea as to what my character may turn into. With PoE, in 45 minutes I have several magic spells for my mage character, and loot that only my mage can wear, but giving me an idea of what to expect as I continue with the game.
But with Shadow, you’re still spamming the same normal attack over and over again, and loot progression works more like Gauntlet Legends for arcade than any other ARPG game. In fact, this game feels more “arcadeish” than any other ARPG I’ve played, and I’m talking about the bad aspects in that regards. Which is really misleading since the developer himself said the game plays like a mix of Diablo 3 and Baldur’s Gate (assuming he’s talking about the PS2 versions of BG). But playing the game, it feels nothing like the two and rather feels like a Sacred 3 clone. Yea, it seems like this game plays more like Sacred 3 than anything else.
Don’t care about story, it’s boring and stupid. I hate it cause it tries really hard to shove so much down your throat at the start of the game Daikatana style (yes, the FPS on N64). Music is whatever, who cares. Don’t care for graphics.
Bottom line: Worst game so far.
