NAAAANNNNNNNIIIIIIIIIIIII?!?!?1

Fuckin, Pillars of Eternity is in the house?! Yo, I completely forget this game existed. Uh… with that 4 million dollar kickstarter this better be the best game ever made in forever.

Heads up on this guy, same dudes who worked on Baldur’s Gate series are working on this. They got together and were like “YEAH LET’S DO THIS!!” and… I guess they did.

the hell you buying your parts from?

Someone from facebook was offering it at that price so that he could transition to a gtx 970. Instantly copped it.

I picked up the r9 270x for 129.99 off newegg. It’s pretty similar to the 760. The r9 270 was also going for about 110-120 on tigerdirect a little bit ago. If you are in need of a decent card keep an eye out for those on black/cyber and the rest of the holiday season. I believe I even saw a 760 going for 149 or so.

I’m gonna Buy VC just to bolster that SEGA PC support

damn that’s nice.

@PozerWoIf‌ yeah Pillar of Eternity (lol PoE) looks awesome, totally crept up on me too.

@JGreen‌ The Sennheiser PC360 looks like a good choice, but it came out in 2011surely for $200 there’s something better out right? 7.1 sound and good noise isolation are important as I don’t want outside noises taking my out of the immersion of a game, I don’t mind a little base, but something as close to original game sound is prefferable, doesn’t need to be good for music with my iphone and ipad, but thatwould be a bonus.

The pack that comes with Far Cry 1, 2, 3, and Blood Dragon is a steal, it’s on sale right now. I bought it in summer for 15 bucks along with BlazBlue Calamity Trigger (5$) and Tomb Raider DLC (2$). Now it’s on sale again, but for 10 bucks this time, and i thought 15 bucks was robbery. Easily the best Steam deal of all 2014, maybe even 2013 included.

There’s not really a 7.1 headphone since there are ultimately only two speakers. What you typically get with “7.1” headphones is a 2.1 setup that tries to emulate a 7.1 setup which it may or may not do well. Depending on your motherboard and whether or not you have a soundcard, you may already be able to simulate surround sound. Now, if what you’re looking for soundstage, where you can make out exactly where certain sounds are coming from, then you typically want to go with open headphones. However, since you mention good noise isolation, then it sounds like you want closed headphones instead to help block out your surrounding noise. So, you’ll likely have to make a compromise. A solid closed headset that has a decent soundstage is the HyperX Cloud gaming headset. It’s also pretty damn cheap. Here’s a good review on it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v8qk0VEt2r8

Ha, didn’t even catch that.
Though, even though I haven’t been playing anything, I have jumped on Grim Dawn from time to time. Finally hitting the higher levels of that game, I’m actually addicted. Fuck.

ok, so a month later…after buying a x4 860k, having to RMA the first one, getting the replacement, and a hard lesson in updating my BIOS, I’m finally happy with my rig’s performance. i can run everything i want to play on high or ultra…so yay. i got 3 free games with my 280x…i picked sleeping dogs, hitman ab. and Saints row…gonna probably play thru hitman first…but now time to indulge in NBA 2k15 and OD…thasts what this was really all about…it looks sow gud…

Can anyone tell me what the differences are between these units in VC, aside from their perks and likes? Are they all mostly the same except for slight stat differences, or do they have larger differences I’m not seeing yet? Some of them seem flat out useless.

It should be fine. IIRC, you just get the code and send the code to your friend.

Perks and likes is very important when building your units for missions. Say, having characters that are friends in your unit will give them a stat boost and they will support each other when paired together. Potentials are extremely important on who you recruit for missions. Say, to bring someone with a dust allergy to a mission with a desert locale if you don’t want their HP to drain. For squad heavy missions it’s good to bring among people who get a boost from being around others. Be wary of the negative potentials. Don’t pair any of the racists with the engineers who are mostly black hairs.

Each character also has different stats for accuracy & evasion (how likely they are to duck enemy fire) that are not listed. You have to look them up online or just google a tier list to weed out the least useful. I have no idea why they didn’t include the data in-game, maybe they had planned on selling Valkyria mooks, lol.

EDIT: The one redeeming fact is that you level up by class, so if you wanted, you could at least experiment w/ any given character & not have it be a total waste of time.

@JGreen‌ thanks yeah I was eyeing those as PCgamer rated that as best budget headset of 2014.

I’m also looking at this:

The first amazon user review says I’ll only get 10% out of it without an amp, but I don’t know how to use one I’m not sure if it’s really worth it or not, the one he suggests costs another $100 which I don’t mind paying if it really does make that big a difference, but I don’t see myself needing to fiddle with sound settings much like treble to adjust game sound to my liking.

Fuck, Grim Dawn man… this game is crack. Funny enough, upon playing it, other than the story the game feels complete. I’ve actually yet to run into any random glitches upon my 10+ hours of play while using 2 different characters. I know there’s some exploits players have found and the devs got them patched, but the game honestly feels complete outside of the story. Luckily, seems like the devs care way more about the gameplay than anything else right now since the game is supposed to have 3 Acts were the version right now only has 2 acts. Game’s official release is looking to be late January 2015.

Those are the kind of stats I was wondering about. It seems like there’s no reason at all to take some characters, and I wouldn’t even take Rosie and Largo’s jew hatin asses if they didn’t give bonus CP. I’ll have to look it up and see if I’m rollin with the right people. I’m up to the mission where I basically need to take nothing but Lancers now, only gave it a quick shot last night. Looks like a total pain in the ass, really.

EDIT: From what I’m reading, some that are weak now might be higher quality later on with more levels. Apparently Alicia just turns into an absolute monster later on, which is fine because you take her for the CP now anyway, and she’s already really good. Didn’t see any jew haters on the top tier list, which is good news, and I’m already rollin with some of these better characters (Vyse, Marina, etc)

DOUBLE EDIT: There’s a Lancer who has Metal Allergy, isn’t that sort of counter-intuitive? How close does he have to be to start losing HP?

Just a note tier list have changed for the game due to if you run at 60FPS Intercepting Fire is stronger because it’s tied to frame count so Scout Rush isn’t the best strategy anymore.

Intercepting fire is when they’re shooting at someone moving during their turn, right? I thought that seemed a little high at times…
