The PC gaming Thread. Steam/GOG/Origin/Etc. Game/Software/Hardware talk

Part 2 took me 25 hours, but I only completed some of the side quests.
Haven’t done a second play-through yet, I’m up on La-Mulana right now.

Also, if Bloodborne came out on PC, my heart wouldn’t handle that and you bet your ass PS4 fanboys will cry bloody murder over that.
But yeah, I’m not holding my breathe in regards to a PC release any time soon…

Keep in mind with Witcher 2, there’s LEGIT branching paths. Like, how you do act 1 at a certain point opens up entirely different act 2s. There’s entire characters I never met through my first playthrough. So it’s the kind of game you gotta play more than once, and likely you’ll happily do so.

I really need to get around to playing these games. I’m like halfway through Act I in the first game.

Not the word I’d use for that game. More like ASS

I don’t hate that game too much actually, I do think it deserves at least one play through. I hate that they went to shmups forum and proceeded to ignore all the great advice given to improve their broken scoring system and the game in general.

I do feel it is a bit low tier besides the presentation (graphics, story), and feel it gets over hyped because of those things. All the pre release hype just to turn into another average shmup with great graphics was a bit disappointing. I’ll give em credit for their first time though, if they had a chance to do another one and listen to the advice given it’d have probably been great.

I’m mostly just a hater because of the mainstream attention it got in comparison to games like Crimzon Clover. It’s still an ok game though.

Also, assuming the PC version wasn’t fixed, unless you used turbo you probably don’t have any records now (scoring and game breaks with turbo).

MIGHT?!

NO YOU GET THAT SHIT RIGHT NOW

For real if there is one shmup on Steam that should be bought, it is that one.

Also, RefleX (on Steam) along with the other two ALLTYNEX games (not on Steam) are also a good pickup.

If you want to try out something free: http://www11.atpages.jp/zakichi/kaikan.html

They’ve created a few others, but Kaikan is their best. I enjoy Blaynix too although it’s not as great.

YO EVERYONE UT4 PRE ALPHA MP IS AVAILABLE FREE NOW! :woot:

Can’t link since it’s a torrent, but link is on neogaf.

Yea, I heard there’s 8 different pathways that actually change up where you locate and characters you run into, but I’m not sure how it all works.

I’ll be doing a second play-through of Witcher 2 but with the Gameplay mod to check out what I can change. Just youtubing scenes I ran into are difficult to locate since I keep getting a “WTF? I didn’t do that!” type of reaction.

Oh this shit has to be a joke…They’re going to ruin Quake Live even more with this bullshit now!!!

Automatic bunny hops? Gotta be fake. Gotta be. I could understand if this was its own separate mode…

It probably won’t be . Plus Classic mode locked behind paywall?

Welp we’ll see what happens.

I got my I5 CPU…looks like it comes with a fan and paste.
I already know that I’m replacing the fan.
Would it be fine to use the thermal paste that came with the CPU…or opt for a better brand?

Wow, they actually managed to kill Quake Live.

I still haven’t tried the mod but I heard it’s really good. I’m still needing to get a second play through in, just haven’t had the time.

The trailers for 3 have me so hyped for the story. Ciri… she is a bad ass. Can’t wait

ALSO, the intro of the first game is the first short story from the last wish, the dialogue is almost taken verbatim.

Truly the most double-edged of swords.

Also, you forgot to mention those:

Melee makes you faster ? Weapon loadouts ? A glorified assault rifle as a primary weapon ? Universal ammo crates ? It’s almost like they’re trying to copypaste game mechanics from Cowadoody/Counter-Strike and expect them to work in the context of a twitchy, movement-based arena shooter. And frankly, that sounds way too outrageous to be true. There is absolutely no way id software would ever make Quake play more like another one of those brown military shooters. Oh, wait…

Personally, I’ve never seen a difference in thermal past.
However, I’ve always purchase in-store, since most of the time I buy my CPU I only get the CPU by itself, forcing me to get a fan and paste.

Quake Live is too hard for the people who grew up playing modern FPS to play, and that’s pretty much the truth.

It’s a really unforgiving game.

For those interested in ASW games like Blazblue and Guilty Gear on steam, I recommend following “Kiss Ltd” on Facebook, they brought Isuka and CT to steam and they’ve told fans of Guilty Gear to prepare for some big news.

Now in an ideal world, it’s Xrd. In a realistic world, it’s +R. But regardless, it’s worth keeping an eye on, it could set a brilliant precedent for future Anime fighters on PC if this goes down well, when it’s announced, anyway.

I wouldn’t get too excited. Kiss is a tiny company.

Big things small packages etc

Just got done putting together my own i5 4590K build out of stuff on sale and my brother gave me his leftover Radeon 7750 HD until I can get something better, currently got it hooked up to my 32" TV in my room

Having a little trouble getting the network drivers up and running on this thing so I just tether my Galaxy S3 for now.

@tharimrattler‌
I’ll list some games that may be under the radar. I’m assuming you know how to find kof, Injustice, Mortal Kombat, etc.

Abyss Odyssey is a little gem, Steam exclusive I’m pretty sure

You need Sonic Generations. That shit is required.

You may like the super-retro graphics games like stuff from Adult Swim- volgarr, broforce, expendabros (free!), super house of dead ninjas

There’s three mmo’s that have decent combat (non mindless flailing for 100 hours)
Continent of the Ninth- most developed, smoothest combat/combo system
DC Universe Online - decent combat, GREAT immersion in the comic book universe
Vindictus - shallow/clunky combat, but… you gotta play it
