The PC gaming Thread. Steam/GOG/Origin/Etc. Game/Software/Hardware talk

How was that a joke? WTF was that even suppose to mean.
I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt and believe you were merely pretending to be retarded.

On PC gaming news: Nosgoth (from Square Enix… it’s not an RPG) is Free for this weekend on Steam.

I can’t tell if this game is any good or not.
It feels like it has potential, but it feels like it’s missing… something… I dunno, it just feels incomplete.
Yea, yea, it’s early access and all, but the idea feels lacking. Maybe when more abilities occur in the future, it can turn out to be a better game, but it feels very average.

Otherwise, finally got around playing Hotline Miami.
Sound track is legit as fuck, bandcamping it up and getting me that OST. I know I’m late to the party, but I’m grabbing part 2 for sure.
Played it on a 360 controller, worst thing ever.

Has anyone been able to get that Rise of Incarnates game to work? I signed up for the beta and installed it, but I just get a black screen and nothing more.

The beta only ran for a few days.

The game is still awful, nive to see that they didn’t listen to the Gundam community about why the game is bad and the way it is all the movement options are pointless to use because moving is so unsafe.

Is there a thread or something detailing the difference between the vs series and that game? Poked at Full Boost.

Theirs no thread but here’s the gist of ROIs problems

Shot has an internal cool down you can’t cancel with dash canceling, in EXVS you can do Shot, Boost, Shot, boot as long as you have boost and shot ammo. It lets you turn shots in knockdown or a short melee combo if you’re close enough and easier to knock people out of combos. ROI doesn’t have this because the shot cooldown doesn’t get cancelled by Boosting.

In EXVS and ROI when you land you have recovery so if you don’t pay attention to where you’re landing you get punished for it. The difference is in EXVS the more boost gauge you have the less recovery you have, so if you’re smart about managing your Boost you can run away or chase more effectively and not being totally fucked by rushdown Melee suits. ROI doesn’t have this.

And now for the big one, THEIR IS NO STEP IN THE GAME. This is one of the biggest offenders, step in EXVS allows you to cut tracking on moves and gives you more movement variance when in the air, ROI doesn’t have any of this so all to often you’re forced to block which is beyond horrid and not something you wanna do unless it’s the last resort.

So, in a nutshell, they dumbed and slowed down EXVS and called it ROI, which is why ROI sucks.

Apparently a patch went out for it that changes a ton of things for the better, won’t be able to try it out till Tuesday though.

So…i might want to replace my aging I7 950 cpu and EVGA motherboard. Ram is 14 gigs of 1600 and a EVGA 6600 video card so those should stay as well as a 800 watt PS so those should be okay for right now unless suggested to replace. Been out of the cpu game for awhile so wanna stick with Intel for the time and maybe a decent motherboard possible EVGA or ASUS. PC has been acting wonky more and more i think the MB is flaking out as well as my 1 TB master drive. Give advice and suggestions PC master race peeps!

Decided to play a few games on my new computer and started up Tomb Raider. I had played it before, but for some reason, the shaky cam effect is more problematic on my computer. Maybe when the graphics were turned down to low on my old laptop, the shaky cam was removed or less noticeable. Ah well. Might start up Metro Last Light or Rayman instead. Any good shmups on PC, maybe something Panzer Dragoonish? I had heard about Astabreed, but being less than an hour long makes the $15 seem a bit high.

GreyFoxx: What’s your budget and what board size? Pretty much all of the recent Asus boards seemed solid. You could go with what I went: Asus Hero and i7 4790. Total cost for that will be about $500.

It’s called trolling, i’ll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume that you knew that, and i’ll also assume you’re not retarded for not understanding the joke that wasn’t really meant to be funny in the first place, rather it’s purpose was to create the exact reaction some people here gave me.

On to PC gaming news, we got GTA5 now, all we need is Destiny or that Halo Master Chief Collection on PC, then it’s happy days!
I wonder how Dead Rising 3 will run if we put it a 60 FPS even though Capcom suggested we didn’t, can’t wait to try and get it to 120 FPS.

How did you not know that Destiny has been headed to PC since forever ago?

My board currently is actually big enough for another video card, but my case could easly fit any size board. I might give your board and cpu a look thru too see if it fits. I say maybe about $500. I know the holidays are coming so maybe i can start putting the funds aside for that time as well. I do have a FRYS computer store near by and maybe a Microcenter as well.

Honestly, my CPU is overkill for the majority of stuff out there. You could get away with an i5 for gaming and save ~ $100. There are also plenty of good boards for cheaper as well. So overall, you should be able to find something that’s within your budget.

So hold up, do you actually have brain damage?
Regardless of your reply, I won’t respond, but it’ll give me an “oooh okay, now it makes sense” type of feeling in me. Simply curious.

Dawg, we need that 30 FPS for our cinematic experience. PC might ruin that for meeeeeeeee!!

First rule of trolling: never admit you’re trawlin’

I don’t know how somebody could fuck that up so badly.

But anyways…

Is anybody else having issues with the 64bit version of Battlefield 4 in conjunction with the Gametime event? I keep getting a missing license error. Maybe the GAmetime players are restricted to the x86 version?>

Two games I “completed” from my library of unending steam games:

Momodora III
Shantae: Risky’s Revenge

I grabbed The Legend of Heroes since i want to support Xseed/Falcom for all their awesome work. I’ll probably try and get through this title next.

What do you guys think would be the best course or action for updating my rig

I definitely need more RAM I’m at 8 now
definitely need an SSD
I have an AMD Phenom II X I believe not sure about upgrading the CPU
Definitely need a new graphics card been on the 550ti which has been able to high/ultra most games but now as next gen rolls in its obviously gotta go
My MOBO is gigabyte 970-A UD3

  • Why would you need more than 8 gigs of Ram?
I’m assuming this is work related and not gaming related, correct? Cause having more than 6 gigs of ram for gaming is already over kill unless your streaming (where 8 will help). Anything over 8 that doesn’t require virtual monitoring is overkill.

  • An SSD isn’t mandatory.
Granted, to have all your OS applications appear in a blink of an eye is nice.

  • Not familiar with AMD, but some games will demand more “up to date” processors due to their engines using specific GPU settings on your CPU (games like Arma and Metal Gear Revengeance).

  • Even with next gen coming in, games are still being optimize for consoles which is using 3 year old hardware.
Granted, you are using an old card, but if you’re looking for a great upgrade and within budget, try the GTX 750 Ti.

when the game first came out i went into the game’s directory to pull out the soundtrack. hotline miami is so legit. im more excited about the soundtrack behind hotline miami 2 because it looks more of the same otherwise.

crimson clover (available on steam as the world ignition version) is one of the tightest shmups ive played, but it’s an actual shump like gradius, raiden, etc., not really along the same lines of panzer.

im outi
