The PC gaming Thread. Steam/GOG/Origin/Etc. Game/Software/Hardware talk

I was in the beta for Firefall. It wasnt that bad. You said they reworked it a few times, so it may be different from when last I played. Had potential.

Buddy of mine works on that, and I’ve played it in the beta. havent been back in like a year or so. It really just lacked something, though it was hard to say exactly what that is

Anyone try Shadowrun Online?

So… Anyone else in the Archeage closed beta 2?

I’ve only seen streams of people playing it, watching some of the low and high level stuff.
The game looks really neat, something I can see a lot of people enjoying.

What I don’t get is one day, everyone just stopped playing it. When asked why, they just say ā€œI dunno why I stopped, LOLā€ but talk about how good it was when they played it. Maybe people got burned out by it, personally, I dunno.
Fuck, I don’t know shit!
Every MMO. This one has a lot of social concepts built into it, which is why I’m interested, so I can see people burning out on it quickly.

Holy fuck, am I in middle school again?

Fun as fuck games like Divinity Authentic Sin, FreedomPlanet Fitness, and now Necrodancer, these games are eating up my summer and I’m loving it.

Necrodancer is damn addicting.
I thought today was the official release date, however it’s still in Early Access. Playing through, this is probably the most stable Early Access game I’ve playen, wtf? Maybe it was an error (sometimes steam takes a while to update the status of the game), but don’t let the Early Access tag scare you off. Shit is worth it, and I’m not even a fan of Rogue-like games.

So… over 12 hours, only 1.5 of which were spent patching, and I’ve yet to actually play this damn game. And some people have PAID for beta access? Such gullible chumps.

@GeesePants Hopefully you got an i5 with hyperthreading. This makes four cores double as eight cores. Without it on your processor, it’ll only be a 4-core. You should check if yours has this feature or not, it’s what makes i5’s good to this day.

Not all i5’s are made the same, though. some i5’s even beat out some i7’s for gaming.

I just booted up one of the last few games I play that use Gamespy servers for matchmaking(Medal of Honor: Allied Assault.)

The game crashes when you hit the button to browse multiplayer servers. :shake:

Game was fun for over 10 years and STILL had an active community(even its two expansions had people playing.)

EA+Gamespy gave us an extra month to play these games online which was pretty sweet. The community for a lot of these games is dedicated though, and there are workarounds to playing with people without the use of Gamespy(it should be the same for Borderlands 1 as well, and most other games that used Gamespy if the community takes the time to release patches/fixes to pair people together again.)

iv been in space for the last three hours travelling at light speed to different planets and taking on bounty hunts in space battles. nearly got involved in a huge space battle but finally got taken out before I reached that planet

game is fucking nuts, and actually being inside that ship seeing my hands move the throttle and stick and having hologram menus pop up from my gaze, fucking excellent.

you guys are in for some REAL NEXT GEN GAMING when this shit drops

What game is it again?

I learned today they are actually reconnecting online through steam and will be up in a matter of days/weeks.

Question:

Any difference between the Geforce750ti, 760 and 770?
I know there is a noticeable price difference between the 3 of them.

My original plan was to get the 750ti…then wait it out until the 800 series comes out and a few years later is made affordable. Now I’m considering getting the 760 because it seems like going from 750ti to 760 is more of a difference than from 760 to 770.

I haven’t gotten the processor yet.

I read that Core i5 with 4 true cores do not have hyper-threading enabled…it doesn’t look like I can double it.

Elite: Dangerous

760 is a big step over 750 ti. The draw to the 750 is price and the low power requirement. You can almost pop that into any set up no matter how bad the psu is. Great for a budget build.

770 is supposed to be a nice step up from 760, but no where near the gain from 750 ti to 760.

Must be an ISP problem.

Only thing worse than that is not getting a 100% install. You wait several hours so the game can download, then another 10 or so minutes so the Reddist packages can finish up. Then you get hit with more errors, so you verify the cache integrity which could take anywhere from 5 minutes to an hour.

That’s why it’s p much suggested to download shit over a wired connection. My Wi-Fi dongle is schizophrenic, and has unstable DL rates.

They held some tournaments for the multiplayer mode that my cousin was involved in a while back. Then instead of trying to balance the MP, they scrapped it entirely. The lead on that project was apparently just all over the place and couldn’t nail anything down, causing a ton of delays and restarts in development. From what I played of the MP it seemed like fun, but I probably wouldn’t even bother now.

I wanted to get the 750ti for its low power consumption…but I feel that the 760 could at least future proof my new PC more.

Guess what just showed up on Steam…

Now this is GOTY material, folks.
