Picked up The Wolf Among us (Fables game) on the cheap during the recent Steam sale. Only a few hours in, but would recommend to Fables fans. Haven’t really played other Choose Your Own Adventure style games, so can’t really be sure how it compares to others in the genre.
Does look a little Jet Grind Radio in places with the lack of color info due to the art style, but I am generally enjoying the game. It’s a mix of story elements (at first I wanted to watch it as an animation more than I wanted to play it) dialog choices (like those Japanese waifu harem games/dating sims) and QTE events.
Posting this here since you guys are familiar with humble bundles. If there is a thread in missing, let me know.
Is the dynamite bundle worth getting? That cover art screams at me to stay away, but I’m interested in a few of the titles: Wild Cards, pathfinder, green hornet
I never understood the criticism towards this game with the term using “didn’t age well”.
Playing the game, it’s a bit slow for my taste, but increasing the FPS to 40 basically fixed that issue right up (I don’t go any higher as it’ll cause script issue).
However, having played the game about 2 years ago (maybe less) for the first time ever, I couldn’t help but accept the fact that it was possibly one of the best RPGs I’ve ever played. And quite frankly, I can’t recall an RPG that’s held my attention during those 2 years, and funny enough, I’ve yet to beat it. And this isn’t due to lack of time, quiet the opposite, as I’m sitting on so many different saves with different character sheets and party members. And yet I run into different quests almost every time even when I attempt to take the same path from a previous save.
Also, Jon Irenicus is the best villain in anything… ever…
Dat voice, his intentions, how unforgiving he is, how cocky yet powerful he is, dat fuckin’ voice.
Whatever, ya’ll motha fuckers better have bought up BG2 and Divinity Original Sin.
Baldur’s Gate II is my 2nd favorite game of all time, but I heard that the Enhanced Edition of BG I and II is buggy and that the community-modded version is better, so I didn’t get it.
Playing Enhanced Edition of BG2 as of recent, I can state that there are several bugs. Nothing major, but a lot of minor ones, as well as a more limited options menu… which is kinda inconvenient. However the “mods” placed into the EE has a nice touch to it (the hud that display loot all over the ground without checking every body, and the ability to read up your spell by right clicking to read what it does), as well as an instant Quick Save, which basically just doesn’t show the “Save” screen but states that you did save.
I enjoy the classic version, as I still do, but what do the community mods have to offer and where can they be found?
From my research, the best site is http://www.gibberlings3.net/ . As for what they have, extra quests, graphical enhancements, bug fixes, NPC’s, tools, AI updates. It’s a lot of content, but sticking to the tweaks and fixes is your best start.
Damnit, I just realized I never picked up Skyrim during the $5 sale. I added it to my cart but did so on my browser, not in steam and never went back to it. Guess I have to wait till the next sale now!
edit: is it weird I only want to play because I found a mod to make my character looks like an Assassin’s from AC?
Was in the random mood to play doom, so I bought Doom 2 on steam when it was on sale. I’ve beaten the first one and I’ve never beaten the second one before, I’m also playing on Ultra-violence. Whoever designed the levels for this game has to be one of the biggest trolls.
“Oh no a cyberdemon!” runs into other room “Phew” Cyberdemon teleports to the same room and kills me
