I probably use waaaaaay too much solder then, heh.
You donāt need any additional flux?
Nah. Youāre only talking about heating the solder twice. Flux helps the solder flow easier, but all solder has some flux in it, and you wonāt burn it all off with those two heats. Just make sure the copper and wire are good and hot, and the solder will flow and make a good weld.
Flux is handy with very old solder, or solder thatās been reworked a bunch of times, but theres almost always enough in new solder that you shouldnāt need separate flux. I only use it when doing rework or trying to use desolder wick.
Toodles or anyone who has done this. Could you post a pic of a Madcatz mini pcb, I have mine all wired up but I cannot get the triggers to work.
I havent wired mine up yet. Others that have (CodyK, akuma001) report problems trying to get the triggers working. Bumpers (RB and LB) work just fine though.
Sorry, I dont think anyone has an answer for you yet. It should be possible, but I wont have a solid answer until I get around to it.
For the record, I hacked the older Madcatz Xbox360 pad a few months back and we had all the buttons and triggers working like a charm.
We removed the trigger assemblies but left the little trigger pots on there. We just glued the pots so they would stay still in the correct position.
I wouldnt think the new Microcon controller would be any harder. I will know soon enough.
allright all this reading is making my head hurt. I have given up, and thrown my hands up and given up.
I have an extra xbox 360 wireless controller, ill pay someone to solder it for me. but glue on it, so i can just modd my arcade stick.
i would like the synchronize buttons and the middle button in the middle. and of course atleast 6 buttons for fighting games.
someone let me know
check the trading outlet
If someone is selling a Gamestop Wired Xbox 360 controller that says āMADCATZ #4736ā in its label, it is safe to assume that is the rebranded Mad Catz MicroCon controller that has the common ground?
I need to clarify a few things because my brain tissue is composed almost entirely of cork.
Iāve been reading the phrase āGamestop rebranded Madcatz Microcon 360 controllerā all over⦠does this mean that Gamestop is slapping their name on a pad that is actually a Madcatz Xbox 360 Microcon? Iām getting the same thing as a Gamestop 360 pad if I just buy a Madcatz 360 Microcon, right?
The common consensus is that the Microcon is the best 360 pad to hack, correct? Iāve heard the official one is a nightmare. Are there any other noteworthy brands?
Also, can anyone confirm that the Microcon it does have a headset jack on it? The ones at the stores around here have the bottom covered up by packaging, I donāt see it specified in any reviews I read, and Iām sick of searching for pictures of them at awkward angles. I found a maybe spot that might be a hole underneath, but itās in shade and the controller is black and the whole thing just makes me feel like Iām checking to see if a dog is female. :crybaby:
Thanks in advance for all the help, guys!
edit: nevermind question 3, managed to confirm!
I didn`t find anything like my cointroller so if anyone could give some help:

don`t know where to startā¦
Though itās kind of tricky to make out from the low quality photos, that looks like the guts from a made in Korea A-Series PS1 DS pad. You can hack it with the solderless hack. The film circuits were the actual contacts for the buttons are on are obviously not something you want to solder too. It also does not have to remain attached to function.
Do a search here for solderless hack, or read the thread from the start. It is probably in there somewhere.
I will look for⦠but there r some strange things:
1 - it`s typed made in China
2 - yeah it is series A, sorry forgot to mention
And I looked in this threa and found the link, broken linkā¦
Iām in the prcoess of getting the Nuby Soul Calibur II Universal Stick (Iām getting it for ridiculously cheap). Can anyone tell me the soldering points of the 8 face buttons including Start/Select?
I found this but this link is broken:

Anywone have this thing or know an usable link please???
Oh neat. I thought only the Korean ones were built like that. Excuse my inexperience.

Koi linked the image you need:

Basically, you remove the flimsy plastic part of the board, then carefully put wires in the slots left behind. The key on the left explains which contact goes to what button.
Youāll probably need to glue the wires in place after installation and testing. Though I usually donāt advise people to use hot glue, it is good for this project, as you can easily remove it from wire installation and the plastic terminal on the PCB.
⦠sorry I missed that one⦠I will try, thx very much.
EDIT: acttually I saw this pic many times⦠but its a bit different, but I think its the same Idea.... one thing I see strage is when I connect the PS controler in the USB adapte and go to control panel blablabla, appers al the buttons presed.... I don
t get it⦠thats why I thought thatt wasn
t the solution
Did you test the controller before opening it?
yeah⦠perfect⦠butā¦srangelly⦠when I putted in the adapter and play games like Melty Blood, Devil May Cry or Sylent Hill, like⦠the Start turned into L3⦠that thing I never undestand⦠and start works fineā¦
but never that problem that is doing when I ~disconect~the plastic thing⦠and still dont get the shit cause nothing is causin curt circuit or anythingā¦
L3? lol⦠What kind of converter do you have?
And thatās odd⦠I pulled everything out of the terminal on mine with no problems. Maybe someone more experienced with that hack can give you better advice than me. Iāve only done it once.
