*The "padhacking" thread*

The Mad Catz Brawl Pad is pretty much identical to the SFIV ones in terms of hacking, correct?

Which control, make and model, is the one hacked in those pictures?

Essentially.

The button mapping is slightly different though so pay attention.

I’m doing my first ever stick hacking job, and I’m definitely a little hesitant and slightly confused as to how exactly I connect some wires. I want to put a PS2 PCB into my stick so I can use PS2->360/PS3 converters. I have the Dual Shock A (Early Version) PCB with the resistor (http://www.slagcoin.com/joystick/pcb_diagrams/ps2_diagram1.jpg) but slagcoin’s guide to PCB wiring is a little vague. My main question is: do I take the wires from my arcade stick and solder them directly to the PCB terminal on the top right? Further questions:

  1. What do I about the common ground and voltage pins on that diagram? Do I solder wires to that? None of the pictures I’ve seen use those pins so I’m unsure what I do with them.

  2. If I solder wires onto the terminal, do I also need to connect the membrane on top of soldering the wires?

I can’t find any pictures of a completed padhack mod using a PS2 Dual Shock PCB, which would pretty much answer a lot of my questions.

Anyone know of cheap bluetooth controllers I can padhack? Want to make a low-cost Android controller, and the Gametel is much too expensive.
.

Well, when I gave up on the sixaxis padhack. I purchased a bluetooth on DX.com. The particular controller that I bought is no longer availible but they have many others. Here a link for you look towards the bottom.

Okay, I want to achieve this:

I can’t really see what’s up though because the image is pretty small, what do i solder to what? Also what’s recommended resistor (says 5K is good, is that right?) for PS1 DS (early H)? hopefully someone has a better understanding of this, peace

thanks in advance.

What is that? If you are trying to wire up the ps1 H series coinslag.com has this

I dont know whats going on in the picture you posted:confused:

^I know how to wire up the pad, what i’m needing help with is ā€˜disabling’ the analog connections. See what i did was take off the ribbon+analog board (the smaller pcb where the analog sticks are, as pictured above), the reason i removed it is simply because it gives more space, and less ā€˜moveable’ parts…

but, now removing it, basically causes the analog input to go nutz, and seems like putting resistors does the trick (pic in my post, also from slagcoin), how i dunno exactly what to do in that case, I cannot tell what’s going on in the pic due to the small reso

Yeah that pic is pretty craptacular! I have no ideas sorry. I’m cluster fucked just trying to pull this off.

I’ll probably rage quite after a few more attempts. Then, on to try my next victim. Presenting the DX.com controller.

So i tore that bitch open and solder some wires to my book stick. It works like a dream.

ps2 dual shock A midle version

where the resisor should be solder …from seven to??? and how many one or two thanks for the anwsers is my first hacking hope you can help

I guess you did see that this pad is listed as avoid if you’re do a single system you may be ok but unless you are too strapped

I suggest you go to game stop and pick up another pad for $10

its not common ground

try to pick up one of those old PSone pads if possible

oh bad news, Ispent a lot of time soldering, beside that the analog, star works but when i tryng to mix the ground 8 with the others l1,l2,r1,r2,x.0… looks the same, and in some cases i got the tringle but i only for second, so thereĀ“s no way to hack it oris because they said avoid it causes is hard to do it . anyway thanks for the answer IĀ“m going to get one psone pad the esiest way…

What system are going to play on?

I would like to play tekken tag tournament 2 ps3

Then i would suggest pad hacking this. If your looking for a direct approach. It doesn’t lag. Its easy to hack. Plus you won’t need a converter. I have hacked 2 of these.

Has anybody torn apart the Power A Air Flo controller to check out the PCB? http://www.walmart.com/ip/PowerA-Air-Flo-Controller-Xbox-360-Xbox-360/17173755 I’m curious of the quality and if they are common ground.

Where exactly on this controller am I supposed to put the 10k ohm resistors? I think I broke a trigger or two as I struggled to dismantle the pcb from my Cardinals controller.
