Forgot to post back here 2 days ago, but wanted to say thanks! I got my 360 hack to work!
Okay, 2 month ago i bought a pack of 10 Paewang/Datel PCBs and started to mod.
4 of them began to malfunction right after modding, same symptom : PS3 mode is okay both on PC and PS3, but 360 mode is okay only on PC, it doesnāt work on 360, it is not recognized, no light on the console ring of light comes up, but on PC, no problem, it works perfectly.
I though these PCB were from a bad batch and i decided to let it go.
But today, a customers came by with a dualmod which wasnāt working on 360. the setup is MC Cthulhu + Madcatz 360 Fightpad + Imp Board V1, and the problem is the same, the fightpad works perfectly on PC and is not recognized on Xbox. (surprisingly, you can start the Xbox by pressing the Xbox home buttonā¦)
After a quick search, i couldnāt find nothing on Internet, so if anybody knows what could be the problem, i want to figure, thank you
The MC+Fightpad+Imp sounds exactly like a problem with the security chip. Either replace the Fightpad, or replace the 8 pin āXBOXā chip on the pad with another taken from a known good Xbox360 controller.
Luckily i kept some fightpads which had input problems, good, iāll do that for the mischievous fightpad. Thank you for the tip
i still donāt know why it seems to be happening so often, but well, iāll try to be more careful when dealing with Paewang.
Iād feel better knowing that the FightPad showed up and worked properly on a PC. If it does, that would seal it being the security chip.
yep it does, all inputs are okay.
Iāll replace the chip, and if itās working, iāll swap the Imp for a V2 one.
PlayStation 3 Core Controller by Nyko for Dual Modding?
Does anyone have experience with this controller? I would like to know if itās common ground.
Thanks in advance.
Iām completely new to padhacking so forgive me if my question is extremely dumb, but do you need to have a ground wire coming from every button or daisy chained? Iām trying to dual mod a Agetec Dreamcast stick with a Madcatz pad and I was under the impression that since both are common ground, Iād only need a ground coming off the up, and āYā buttons on the Madcatz pad.
What is pad hacking? I keep googling and reading and its a lot of technical stuff.
I have been making a controller using a wireless 360 controller(late version) and one of my buttons seemed to always be pressed. I checked the voltages to make sure it wasnāt grounded and it was around 0.7v instead of the normal 3.3v. Ive traced the lines on the board and desoldered the wire to make sure it wasnāt grounded and it still hasnāt worked. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this?
Hey guys. I have a ps1 pad hacked that Iām going to put into a stick, with an InPin, for use with PS3
I was wondering if this:
would be a simple hack? It would be cheaper and I wouldnāt have to carry around the converter.
I couldnāt find any diagrams, I actually donāt know what that controller is. It looks like a ps2 but says its 3rd party PS3
Iāve been searching around but canāt seen to find info on this. I have a Xbox 360 madcatz fightpad Iām going to put inside a TE (the pcb died -_-) I got all the diagram for the wiring however I do not see anything about the 2 triggers on it. Do I need some kind of resistor to be able to use them? If so anyone has the diagram for that? Thanks much
Did you ever find out the problem with the Paewangs?
Hey jdm, have you thought of making a thread for putting up all of the solder points for pcbs from padhacks from various joysticks? The first page of this thread is sorely outdated. Itād get my vote for a sticky, and/or for it to replace/add to the Info Thread. Whilst Iām here, my friend got a Hori V3 SA that he wants me to dualmod. Iām wondering if you have the solder points to the underside of it. Same thing as the VX SA? Thanks!
necro response, but hereās what iāve got on the pcb i have lying around (this is going into the back side of the pcb):
1 - black
2 - light grey
4 - orange
5 - yellow
6 - green
7 - blue
9 - violet
dark grey and red are shorter than the others; dunno if theyāre supposed to be like that or if my pcb got fucked up somewhere, but the last time i had it in my loaner TE it worked fine.
wow!! thanks alot now i can finish that ascii stick. much appreciated.
Can anyone figure out (or tell me how to figure out) this 3rd-party PS1 PCB?

The guy who gave it to me had cut off the original connector & lost it.
Colours (LtR) are:
Black, Brown, Green, Orange, Blue, Yellow, Red.
so what do u need a new connecter male connecter for the main cable or some other advice?
hi good to all. Has anyone ever used this pad for chutullu MC?. Is that I received the other day and I have no idea if anyone can help me would be very grateful.
I have a male connector; Iām just wondering how I can find the pin-out.
Though having slept on it, I guess I can leave the PS2 male open & switch pins until it works
